CHAPTER 25: THE DATE
Me? A Girl?
===================================================================================================
Few weeks later, Hyerin and I became okay and she’s gone back to her normal, cheerful self.
I’ve been thinking about the date that Hyosung suggested. I think it’s not that bad and today is Saturday. We don’t have classes tomorrow. The weather is good. I’ll ask her out. But …how?
I eyed Hyerin from the corner of my eyes. She was sitting in her bed while playing a game in her phone. “Do you have something to do today?” I asked her.
“Nope” She answered still focused on the game she’s playing.
I quietly breathed deeply. “I have something to buy at the mall. Do you wanna tag along?” I asked nervously while having a bored expression on.
*Say yes. Say yes.*
“It’s only the two of us? Then..it’s a date?” She asked innocently without looking at me.
I gulped. *Why the hell does she know everything that’s going on inside my head?*
“I-It’s not a date!” I denied.
“Okay. Wait for me. I’ll just change my clothes.” She said as she stood up.
…..
Few minutes later, she came out from the bathroom wearing a simple white top and skirt.
I stared at her. She’s really cute. But I don’t want other guys to see her like that too.
“Change your clothes.” I said as I looked away.
“But why? Isn’t it cute?” She asked with a pout.
*It is! Stop doing aegyo!*
“Just change.” I demanded.
With that she got a pair of jeans from her closet then, she went back to the bathroom with a sad face.
I feel bad. But I just want to protect her from other guys.
…………
At the mall, while we we’re strolling, I noticed there we’re tons of guys staring at her. I looked at her. Even though she just wore a simple shirt and jeans, she’s still cute. That’s why they kept on staring at her.
I sighed. “If only I can use something to cover your face, I seriously would” I muttered.
“What?” She asked me innocently.
I just shook my head. “Nothing.”
“Why did you buy a ballpen?” She suddenly asked.
That was only an excuse for our date. “I’m running out of ballpens.” I reasoned out.
“You can always buy one from the school supplies.” She said.
*I didn’t think of that as an option.*
“I don’t like the ballpens they sell there.” I lied.
“But the one that you bought today is what they sell there.” She said.
I stopped walking. How can I be so thick headed? “Well..I thought I might as well try that kind of ballpen.” I mumbled as I walked again.
“Then why didn’t you just buy from there?”
“Because I always buy ballpens from the mall.”
“Is that so?” She asked.
I nodded.
*Don’t ask anymore!* I prayed inside my head while we continued strolling.
