I ran in the corridor not caring if I bumped to others. I just ran. But no matter where I go, I just can’t escape the truth that Naeun doesn’t like me regardless of my identity.

Just what did I do for her to hate me like that?

Why can’t she be like Jiyeon who likes me so much?

Why did I have to hear their conversation? I questioned myself as I opened a random room and went inside.

As soon as I got inside, I cried on one corner not knowing that someone was there.

“Minah? What’s wrong?” Someone asked. I shot my head up and saw Hyerin.

She walked towards me and bent in front of me, cupped my face and wiped my tears away.

“Why are you here?” I asked as I looked away while wiping my own tears.

“I am assigned as the cleaner of Science Lab every Wednesdays.” She answered with a smile.

I just pouted. She seemed to be everywhere I go.

“What happened? I was looking for you during lunch but you never appeared and you even cut your classes.” She scolded me like my mom.

I didn’t want to tell her so I remained quiet.

She examined me for a moment. I pretended not to care but inside me, it’s really bugging me.

“It’s about Naeun. I’m certain of it. Did she do something bad?” She asked as she caressed my cheeks.

How come she knows everything?

I blankly stared at her.

“I’m right. Naeun did something.” She declared with a smile.

I hate her for knowing every little thing without me telling it to her.

But I hate myself more for liking Naeun.

She suddenly hugged me and said: “Everything’s alright now. I’m here.”

My eyes widened.

It was the first time a girl hugged me.

I tried to pull away because it was awkward for a guy to cry on a girl but she just tightened her hug on me.

“It’s not awkward to cry on my shoulders.” She said.

She’s really a psychic. She knows everything that goes in my mind.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I hugged her back and cried.

“Sorry. I’m stupid. I should’ve listened to you.” I mumbled quietly in between my sobs.

“It’s okay now. I’m here. I won’t leave you.” she said as she patted my back softly.

After that, I told her everything that happened.

She comforted me and asked me if I want her to fight with Naeun knowing that she’s only joking, I agreed.

“I’ll definitely punish her.” She said as she took a macho pose.

It made me laugh and forget about Naeun.

To tell the truth, she really helped me.

If she wasn’t here, I would feel more miserable.

“Thank you Hyerin.” I managed to say as I looked down.

I was feeling really embarrassed.

“Aww. How cute.” She said while pinching my cheeks.

I looked up and saw her smiling warmly at me.

She looks beautiful when she smiles.

With that, I looked away.

But I can feel my blood rising to my cheeks. I was blushing. Maybe it was because of crying too much. I thought.
