Happiness In Two Words

In Plain Sight

"But honey, how did you find this place?, aren't you worried about people finding out?", Moonbyul was still looking everywhere she could as they were led through the foyer and into the main room for the ceremony, Yongsun just chuckled at her wife's semi panicked questions and said she wasn't worried and neither should she be. Moonbyul smiled and pulled her in for a brief embrace, whispering softly in her ear before Yongsun was led into a side room to play the part of the traditional bride, "It's so beautiful, just like you. Thank you.". As Yongsun followed the latest woman in what seemed like an all female affair in the way of staff, she e last time to look back at her wife and smile broadly, she was happy and nothing would ruin that for her today. Nothing at all. Moonbyul wasn't left to mill about on her own for more than a second, she really had to applaud the staff for thier attentiveness, another woman appeared and offered her a glass of champagne from a gleaming silver tray she had been expertly balancing as she entered. Taking a glass and bowing her thanks to the woman, she smirked a little as the woman said under her breath, "Wow, so handsome.", and walked out of the room. Wandering over to the place where she would be standing for the ceremony, she looked around again and took in the room, it was medium sized, enough to seat 50 guests comfortably, but not so big as to be echoey if less showed up. She downed her drink in one swallow and held the glass limply in her hand until a few seconds passed and she almost jumped out of her skin as another woman appeared and took the glass from her. As she stood fiddling with her tie pin, guests started arriving and she nervously greeted them. They arrived in droves, some alone, some in pairs and some in small groups of 5 or more. The first to arrive was a pair, their friends Wheein and Hyejin, who were holding hands and beaming at her from the moment they entered the room.

The room filled quickly and after what felt like a million hugs, handshakes and pleasant greetings, yet another woman appeared, this time dressed more formally. Moonbyul assumed this was the celebrant and greeted her more formally, her nerves building in the anticipation of the time for the ceremony starting getting nearer. As the chatty crowd of guests took to thier seats, most finding thier namecards quickly, some asking others where they were, the celebrant took her place and Moonbyul turned to face her, she couldn't help but thank her prematurely for overseeing the ceremony. From somewhere in the room, an organ sounded, she hadn't seen one on her initial inspection but now she saw the curtained off part of the room for the first time and smiled. As soon as the familiar sound of the wedding march began, everyone stood up and faced the main doors, which had been closed as soon as the last guests had arrived. Moonbyul clasped her hands in front of her and faced the doors too, as she did so, they opened and sunlight spilled through, it took her eyes a moment to adjust and she had to try her hardest not to gawp open mouthed as she saw her bride, escorted by her older sister. Yongsun smiled broadly as she walked, her long white dress was the exact same one she had worn the first time they had married and the satin moved in same sway it had before. The train she had had taken in a little so there would be no need for anyone to hold it off of the ground, the veil fell over her face lightly and the tiny amount of secrecy it afforded her gave her a boost of bravery as she reached her wife's side. Yonghee smiled as she gave her sister's hand to Moonbyul and said "Take care of her like I know you will sinu-i.", Moonbyul said she would and watched Yonghee walk back to her seat before turning to face her bride once again. The organ stopped playing and Yongsun looked into Moonbyul's eyes, her own becoming ot with happy tears as they listened to the celebrant and repeated their respective lines. Now the vows came and Yongsun was starting, clearing and wishing she could pull the veil back over to hide her embarrassment at her cheesiness, she smiled and started:

"To my Moonbyul, my moon, the one thing lighting up even the darkest of nights. I loved you the first time I saw you, I will love you every day of our lives and every day after we depart this world. Sometimes you frustrate me, sometimes you make me sad, but every day I am grateful you are mine. Your smile makes me smile, your heart it bursting with love and your passion cannot be contained in the world's supply of mugs. If i had the chance to start anew, i'd make just one, simple change and love you from the start. To have you here within my arms and always by my side, is truly the greatest feeling of all since you agreed to be my bride.".

Looking up and wiping her tears with her free hand, she smiled and saw that Moonbyul's face had become streaked with the same happy tears as hers and waited as the celebrant prompted Moonbyul to read her own vows. Yongsun giggled as her wife apologised and said she would have to make them up since she hadn't known this was happening. The crowd were silent but it was punctuated by a few nose blows and sniffles as Moonbyul thought for a second and cleared her own throat. Yongsun gripped her hand in what she hoped was a small gesture of encouragement. Moonbyul's voice was a little higher than usual but it was due to nerves as she spoke clearly:

"Yongsun, my little tokki. What can I say about someone who started as a stranger, became a friend and ened up a soulmate?. I met you with 2 others, who quickly became friends, you smiled, I smiled, the room lit up, it made my heart explode. If I knew back them we'd be here now, i'd be the happiest woman alive. We started friends, until the end, i'm privileged to call you my wife.".

As she finished, she made a cursory glance around the room and saw everyone smiling back at her, tissues dabbing at eyes, noses red from crying but they were happy and so was she. Looking back at Yongsun, she gripped her hand back and smiled a watery smile. When they had walked in, she had been confused and extremely nervous but now she was the happiest she'd ever been and she never wanted to leave this moment. The celebrant asked them he usual things about taking each other to be lawfully wedded wives and they in turn said 'I do'. A quick kiss later and the room exploded in overly enthusiastic applause, the atmosphere a warm one as they walked back down the aisle hand in hand and out to the entry for the photoshoot. Little conversation passed between them during the buffet as people kept approaching to wish them happiness and to compliment them both on a beautiful ceremony and how well dressed they were. Yongsun yawned as they finished the meal and got up to make thier way to the dancefloor in the next room, Moonbyul smiled and reassured her that they would be home soon and she could sleep the whole weekend away if she needed to. The guests had somehow managed to pass them and were already in the room when they entered moments later. Yongsun had picked the music and all the songs seemed to be slow dance songs since there were no children and she had thought nobody would want to expend much energy when they had just eaten. The first dance was thiers and Moonbyil led her to the centre of the dancefloor, pulling her closer and letting Yongsun's head rest on her shoulder as they slow-danced to the very first song. So much time passed as they moved, that the song was soon over and several more had played before they realised the crowd around them. Stopping and looking at each other, they made thier way off of the dancefloor so as not to be trampled and joined Wheein and Hyejin at the nearest table. Thier friends were snuggled close and sharing a piece of cake when they sat down, Hyejin looked around and Wheein took the opportunity to scoff the last chunk of cake, it made her cheeks bulge adorably and Yongsun laughed to see it. She had spent so much time planning this that she thought she wouldn't enjoy the ceremony but here she was, cheerily tired in her lovers arms, in the company of friends, and she realised that for the second time, she had found happiness in 2 words.

Just a warning, the mature rating was so I could put a trigger warning on the chapter Too Close For Comfort as it includes mention and small descriptions of vomiting and slightly detailed description of a wound.
