Kiss And Make Up?

In Plain Sight

Yongsun arrived at the tv studio early and strode right over to the reception desk to ask where the studio was. The lady behind the desk smiled and welcomed her to the building, instructing her that the floor she needed was the fourth. Yongsun bowed politely and thanked the woman before walking to the open lift and pressing the number she needed, the doors slid closed slowly and she closed her eyes as she tried not to think of how much she missed her Byulie. When she arrived on set, she acted as though she was ok and even managed to smile animatedly through various introductions and instruction reading. A text message popped up just once that day, her heart sank as she realised it wasn't the person she wanted to talk to but Hyejin checking on her instead. She finally finished filming eight hours later and started the long drive home.

Hyejin was cooking tteokbokki when Yongsun walked in, she smelled it before she had even opened the door and smiled as she set her keys and bag down, closing the door with her foot before kicking her shoes off and walking into the kitchen. Wheein had her arms wrapped around Hyejin's waist and her face nestled against her neck, she greeted Yongsun warmly as she entered the kitchen and moved as one with Hyejin as the food was dished up. Although the girls were wary of Yongsun's mood, they smiled apprehensively as she tucked into her favourite food with enthusiasm and began eating some of the other pre-prepared dishes of gopchang, kimchi fried rice, jja jjang rice and a few more side dishes to share. It was a mash of food but at least everyone had something they would eat, which made Hyejin happy.

Moonbyul arrived at her sister's house late and the sun was setting, she parked her car in the lane by the house and walked up the steps with her bag over her shoulder. Her sister lived in a small place on her own but she had always said Moonbyul would be welcome to stay any time she needed. Knocking on the door, she hoisted her bag more securely onto her shoulder and felt the cold metal of her wedding ring against her chest, she had put it on the necklace to avoid that conversation with her sister. Arms wrapped around her as soon as the door opened and she sighed into her sister's embrace, although she loved living with Yongsun, she had missed her baby sister too much recently. "Hey Seulgi, thank you for letting me stay a while.", her words were flat but she meant the grateful undertone behind them and her sister smiled to hear it. As she settled in for the night, the light off in the front room and a hot cup of cocoa in her hands, they watched an American romance film whilst Moonbyul's mind wandered back to her apartment and the arms she missed being encased in. After a while, soft snores filled the room and her sister switched the tv off, plunging the room into darkness. A few moments later Moonbyul felt a duvet drape over her and she fell deeply asleep, the soft cllick of Seulgi's bedroom door was the only sound that registered in her mind as she slept. When she woke up, Moonbyul found a peice of paper on the table next to her and sat up to read it, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, it was from her sister:

'Stay as long as you need, i'll be at our old house for the rest of the week to help our parents with some cleaning and things. You have a key right?. Love you Unnie X'

Moonbyul smiled and got herself ready for the day, taking off her necklace as she stepped into the shower. Thoughts drenched her like the water dripping down her head, body and onto her feet, she frowned at them.

Had she reacted wrongly?

How could she be so stupid?

Would Yongsun forgive her?

How could she make it up to her?

Would Yongsun forgive her?

She felt her heart sink as Yongsun's sad face flickered into her mind while she thought. Getting out of the shower, she dried herself off, pulling the necklace back on and caressing the cold metal of her wedding ring. Looking at herself in the mirror, she frowned and had to gather herself before she cried, she hated arguing with Yongsun but she had felt so strongly about seeing her with someone else that she'd reacted instinctively. Somehow her clothes felt heavy as she put each item on, the shirt felt tight and pressed the ring onto her skin, the tie like a loose noose around her neck, the jacket made of lead, the trousers straight and unyeilding to her step, the polished black shoes like concerete blocks shuffling along the ground with the effort of walking. As she drove to her detination for the day, she opened her phone and called Wheein who picked up immediately and berated her for the way she had left. Letting her friend finish, she sighed and began talking. "Wheein, is Yongsun on the set today?, I need to see her. Yes I know what i've done to her and i'm sorry but i'm trying to make up for it. Please don't mention anything to her, i'll see you later ok?", with that, she hung up, Wheein still shouting on the other end of the phone and Hyejin's muffled voice in the background of the call. Arriving at the MBC building within the hour, she parked up far from the building just in case anyone was looking out of  window, quickly making her way inside, a baseball cap pulled low over her face, she asked what floor she needed and after signing an autograph for the flustered girl on the reception desk, she made her way to the fourth floor.

It had been a long morning and all Yongsun wanted to do was go home and sleep but she had another few hours of filming and her thoughts were still on Moonbyul. She pressed the button for the lift sulkily and stood with her arms folded across her chest and a pout on her lips. She was going to be in a very bad mood all day and she knew it, but she had to get it out of the way before filming so she jabbed her finger on the lift button until it arrived. The doors slid open and she stepped inside, the person already in the lift waited for the doors to close before speaking. Yongsun jumped a little as the familiar voice whispered in her ear.

"Excuse me beautiful, have you seen my wife?". Arms wrapped around her waist and she closed her eyes as she felt Moonbyul's body pressed against hers, the smell of her cologne was intoxicating and she almost forgot they were in a lift until the doors started to open and they broke apart. It would have been easy for Yongsun to slap Moonbyul or to shout at her but she didn't have the energy right now and the person entering the lift on this floor was the very reason for the rift between them. Yongsun stood against the left side wall of the lift, her heart steadying itself as the man looked anywhere but at her, only affording her a small smile in welcome. Moonbyul melted into the back wall of the lift and pulled her cap low again, she could feel the heat from her wife's body lingering on her and she snuck a glance over. He'd interrupted at a crucial moment, just like he had before, just like he probably would again, all she knew was that if her heart ws racing, then Yongsun's must be pounding. The lift doors opened an eternity later and he stepped out, Yongsun made to follow but Moonbyul caught her hand and pulled her close just as the doors closed again. Pressing the button for the roof, she knew there were at least twenty floors between here and there, she stepped forward and once again pulled Yongsun into her, feeling their hearts beat in sync as their lips met for the first time in a long time.

"This time, i'm not letting you go. I love you Moon Yongsun."

Just a warning, the mature rating was so I could put a trigger warning on the chapter Too Close For Comfort as it includes mention and small descriptions of vomiting and slightly detailed description of a wound.
