“Vice president, the car’s is already waiting downstairs.”

Chaewon watched as the elevator doors closed before her, she wordlessly nodded back and closed her eyes.

“Is everything alright, ma’am?”

“Y—Yes, move my meetings to tomorrow.” She replied, her voice so low that her secretary barely heard her.

“Yes, ma’am.”

The doors opened again and they crossed the lobby, Chaewon walked through the sliding doors and she almost tripped on the steps.

“Vice president!” Her secretary rushed to her side, Chaewon let out a shaky breath and shook her head.

“I’m okay. Let’s head back to the office.”

They got in the car, Chaewon fastened her seatbelt before speaking again.

“I’d like you to look into my father.”

“Yes?” The male was stunned, Chaewon exhaled.

“What was he up to during the time of my accident? Whom was he meeting with and what was he doing. I want to know. Everything.”

“Yes, vice president. I’ll get to it right away.”

Chaewon was facing the windows before speaking again.

“And,”

Her secretary turned to her again, waiting for her words.

“Tell the legal team to be ready.”

Sehun checked the time on his wristwatch, he fixed his tie as he stood up and picked up coat. He was about to leave his office when the doors suddenly opened, he paused as he saw the visitor standing outside.

“Sir, it’s the vice president.” His secretary said meekly before stepping away, Sehun’s brows rose, unsure.

“I was planning to come by and pick you up.” Sehun spoke as Chaewon stepped in the room, she closed the doors behind her.

“No. I…I can’t stay for dinner.” She spoke, Sehun blinked and gestured for her to sit.

“Chaewon-ah, about the other day, I~”

Chaewon started to shake her head at him, Sehun grew confused.

“I…Sehun-ah, I-” She looked up to meet his gaze, Sehun noticed how her lower lip was shaking, he grew anxious.

“Ya, you can tell me anything. You don’t have to choose your words.” Sehun walked towards her, but Chaewon flinched back. He halted, Chaewon looked away.

“Chaewon-ah,”

The girl met his gaze again and then she simply walked towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

Sehun momentarily froze before automatically circling his arms around the girl.

“Is everything alright?” Sehun asked, a small frown started to appear on his face.

Chaewon nodded back, pressing her forehead against his chest and letting tears roll down her cheeks.

“It…It was just a long day at work.” She sniffed and pulled back, she quickly wiped her tears away and faced him again.

“Chaewon-ah,” Sehun grew worried when he noticed that she was crying, he reached for her hand and laced their fingers together.

“I can’t stay for dinner, but, what’s happening? Why did you buy out the Kos?” She spoke, trying to divert his attention.

And Sehun let her.

“Hyejin crossed you.” Sehun’s reply was simple, but it made Chaewon pause.

“What?”

He gave her a small smile before leaning down to kiss her cheek, she tensed.

“Sehun, you’re destroying them.” Chaewon said to him, Sehun eventually rolled his eyes.

“You’re being petty right now. I know that look.” She murmured as she walked towards his desk, she cleared before opening his laptop.

“She called you a homewrecker, that’s why I wrecked her home.” Sehun reasoned as he plopped down on the sofa. Chaewon blinked, her eyes went to the back of his head as he lounged on the seat.

She let out a small shaky breath before talking.

“You know what? Let’s get dinner.” Chaewon walked towards him and took the empty space beside the male.

Sehun paused and glanced at her.

“You’re not avoiding me. Why?” He asked her, Chaewon gave him a small smile and leaned her head against his arm.

“You’re worrying me. And are you trying to lead me on? Then eventually leave me later?” Sehun asked, his tone playful, but Chaewon could sense the edge in his voice.

“This time, nobody leaves, Oh Sehun. Come on, let’s eat.” She nudged him as she stood up. Chaewon picked up her purse and headed for the doors, she heard Sehun shuffle after her and she quickly wiped her cheeks again.

I’m so sorry. This is all my fault. Instead of hating you, I should have been hating myself.

Changwook paused from his desk, and put his phone down.

“She cancelled the meeting?”

“Yes, president. I just got the call from her office.” His secretary replied, Changwook pursed his lips.

“Did something happen? Where did she go?” He had been trying to contact his sister the whole day, and still no word from her.

“I heard she had plans to meet up with vice chairman Oh, should I contact him?”

“No, no. It’s okay, I just haven’t heard from her. You may go.” Changwook dismissed him, he shut his laptop close and smiled to himself.

“So, things will get better now. I hope.” He murmured, he was about to stand up when his phone started to ring.

He picked it up, and answered as soon as he saw Hyebin’s name on the screen.

“Where are you? Work?” She spoke as he answered.

“Yes, I was just about to leave. Why?”

“Your…father is here, he insists on staying.”

“What?” Changwook frowned, he got his coat and made his way towards the door.

“He claims he wont leave until he talks to Chaewon. And honestly, I don’t know what to do. Hurry back.” Hyebin mumbled, Changwook nodded and made his way towards the elevator.

“Chaewon will probably come home late tonight, it’s okay. He’ll leave by then.”

“You’ve been quiet. I’m extremely worried.”

Chaewon looked up, they were walking towards the restaurant, she shook her head at him.

“It’s nothing. I’m just…What are you doing?”

Sehun paused, his brows rose briefly.

“Stop it.”

“Nope.” He replied childishly.

“Sehun-ah,” She stopped walking, Sehun faced her and pursed his lips.

“It might earn you bad press, we’re already linked to each other. It wont take them long to connect the dots.” She said in a calm manner, she reached out for his hand.

“I get that you’re angry, but you’ve done enough.”

“Chaewon, she~”

“I know, Hyejin unnie did some bad things. It caused us trouble, but…I bet she’s learned not to…cross the line by now. Sehun-ah, please. For me.”

Sehun’s forehead creased before sighing, Chaewon smiled knowing she got through him.

“Make the phonecall now.” She let go of his hand, Sehun took out his phone, he playfully narrowed his eyes at before dialing his secretary’s number.

Chaewon made her way towards the doors, she went up the steps and stopped when she felt a tug on her sleeve. She turned and blinked at him.

“All done?”

Sehun nodded back at her and broke into a small smile.

“What is it?”

“We’re having early dinner, this isn’t you.” He said teasingly, she rolled her eyes at him.

“I have to be home early, I promised Hwan I’d read to him before bed.” She claimed and then unthinkingly, she stretched her hand towards him and placed her palm over the left side of his chest.

The look on her face softened and she bit on her lower lip.

“Chaewon-ah?” Sehun tilted his head at her, her fingers were shaking as she pulled her hand away.

“Why?” She met his gaze evenly.

“What?”

“Why woud you still want me, Oh Sehun?” She voiced, Sehun was stunned at her question.

“Why not?” He finally replied while studying the look on her face. Something was bothering her and he knew that it was best not to force her to talk about it.

“I…I..” Chaewon trailed off, not knowing how to continue.

“Don’t you think I’m too much trouble?” She almost choked on her own words, but Sehun shook his head.

He gently cupped her cheeks and quickly kissed the tip of her nose.

“No. You were never too much trouble, now let’s eat.” Sehun sidestepped her and went inside the building.

Chaewon let out a shaky breath before turning for the doors as well.
