“This is perfect!” Mrs. Oh said as they began eating, Hwan smiled as he took the seat beside his uncle Jongin.

“I made some of Chaewon’s favorites, and I know Sehun loves braised ribs.”

“Auntie, if only made Chaewon’s favorites, then we’d be eating~”

“Cut it out.” Chaewon hissed at Kai, the elders laughed. Sehun looked around the table, and his brows rose.

“Chaewon’s still upstairs?” He spoke, Hyebin nodded back.

“She said she needed to get something. She’ll be down in a moment.”

“What does Chaewon usually eat?” Mrs. Oh asked the Jis’ mother, the lady smiled.

“Chaewon’s can be quite picky,” Sehun spoke politely, the elder agreed with him.

“Really?” Mr. Oh smiled.

“Yes, anything to greasy and shge walks out on you.”

Kai grinned as Chaewon joined them, she took her seat besied Sehun and eyed the dishes. Mr. Oh watched as the girl forked around the pieces of vegetables before picking up a slice of meat and then she proceeded to put some potatoes on her plate.

“Do you want kimchi?” Sehun asked her, she glanced at the kimchi and saw the radish bits. She pursed her lips and shook her head.

“You don’t like radish as well, Chaewon-ah?” Mr. Oh spoke, she blinked at him before smiling sheepishly.

“I can’t stand them, uncle. I guess, you too?”

“I would rather eat cucumbers.” He said jokingly, Chaewon laughed with him.

“Right, I never got to tell you, Jinwook-ah, Seri-ah,”

Changwook and Chaewon looked at their mother as she addressed the Ohs, Sehun’s brows went up.

“Thank you for taking her in when she got in accident in Jeju, I heard about what my daughter did.”

Chaewon winced on her seat, she got an earful from her mother when she was informed about her motorcycle incident.

“It’s nothing, Chaewon’s like family to us.” Mrs. Oh shook her head with a smile.

“Of course, I’d like to apologize for what my husband did to your son, I know it’s a bit late for that. But~”

“Stop, Soojin-ah, please.” Mr. Oh said, Changwook winked at her sister, Chaewon grimaced.

“There’s breaded pork too, do you want to try it?” Sehun nudged her, Chaewon shook her head.

“It’s all in the past. We’re both just glad that our kids found their way back to each other. You have no idea how much of a headache Sehun was before meeting your daughter.”

Now, it was Sehun’s turn to grimace.

“Right, Sehun was a total pain!” Kai laughed, Mrs. OH glanced at him.

“And, you weren’t?” Hyebin intervened, Changwook laughed.

“Well, oppa and unnie are having a daughter, I think we all should toast that.” Chaewon cleared and raised her glass, and then she heard her mother gasp.

Mrs. Oh squealed on her seat, HYebin smiled and looked away.

“W—Why? Did~”

“That ring, Chaewon-ah.” Her mother spoke, Chaewon’s eyes widened and she looked at Sehun.

She had forgotten to take off the ring before joining them, Sehun winked at her.

“I’m letting you handle this one, J.won.” He mused before going back to his meal.

“You~”

“So, do I really get to be the ring bearer?” Kai chimed in, Chaewon almost threw her fork at him.

Chaewon exhaled as she lay flat on the couch, the mothers had bombarded her with questions about the wedding. And it took her almost an hour to explain everything to them that Sehun and her had no plans of marrying yet. And that the ring simply meant that they were together and it also meant that marriage was a part of their plan too.

She closed her eyes and fiddled with the ring on her finger, she was happy that things were going well. But, she having her mother find out about the ring wasn’t really in the plan.

She exhaled again, Chaewon heard the door open and she didn’t bother to move.

“Oppa, did you check my car’s~”

“I’m not your brother.”

She opened her eyes and found Sehun standing before her, she yawned and brushed her hair away from her face.

“Looks like you survived.” She mused at him, Sehun grinned before inserting himself beside her, Chaewon groaned as his weight pressed in on her. Sehun laughed before pulling her over his chest and making the girl lay flat on top of him.

“Are you worried about that?”

“Not really, just surprised.” She murmured, Sehun nodded, his hands were on her waist.

“Don’t worry, they won’t pressure you into anything.” Sehun said, Chaewon scrunched her nose, she pressed her cheek against his chest.

“I don’t feel pressure or anything. I just don’t feel like….people should be openly discussing it, you know.”

“Do you not want other people to know? Like a secret relationship?” Sehun said light-heartedly.

“No, we don’t have to keep it in secret. It’s fine.” Chaewon murmured, Sehun smiled and just wrapped his arms around her.

“You’re still going to the party with me, right?”

“Yes, it’s not like I can escape that.” She pointed out, Sehun laughed and kissed the top of her head.

“So, you’re never going to marry me, huh?” He asked jokingly, Chaewon lifted her head to meet his gaze.

“I think I might.”

Sehun rolled his eyes at her, she chuckled.

“Really? You might?” Sehun murmured as he pulled her closer to him, Chaewon nodded back.

“Marrying is a no-brainer, Oh Sehun. Let me sleep, okay?” She pleaded, Sehun broke into a small shy smile.

“Okay.”

“Now, let go.” She said, Sehun childishly shook his head and tightened his hold on her.

“Sehun~”

“Nope, I’m going to keep you all to myself.”

Chaewon eyed the double doors skeptically, she had doubts in attending the Samsung event, he was worried because that would her into the limelight again. A limelight that would put her right next to Sehun, and people will talk. There’s been so much going on lately, and she didn’t want him to be dragged into her family’s mess.

“Hey,” She felt a palm on her lower back, she turned, Sehun was smiling.

“Are you sure about this? Going public?” She asked, his brow rose went up briefly.

“Are you not comfortable with it? We can~”

“No, I’m fine, but I’m worried you might…the way people will see you might change. I mean, my father’s in jail for fraud and a lot more. And, being linked to me is~”

“Chaewon, I don’t care. It doesn’t matter what they think. Screw them.” He scrunched his nose at her and leaned down to kiss her cheek.

“This ring might cause talk too.” She commented as she hooked arms with him, Sehun chuckled.

“That would benefit me. Definitely.”

“Huh?”

The doors opened and they both walked in, Chaewon chewed on her lower lip.

“And, now, the members of the opposite would never approach you.” Sehun hummed to himself, Chaewon shook her head at him.

She could feel people’s eyes on them as they walked in, se looked around the room and spotted Sehun’s parents with a few guests.

“Vice president Oh, it’s good to see you.”

Chaewon turned her head, a familiar male had approached them.

“Yes, thank you for coming, director Ahn. I heard about the move to work with Jeguk Group this year,”

“Yes, it already has been forwarded to your office, sir. And, good evening, vice chairman Ji.”

“Good evening, director Ahn. I’m going to say hi to your parents for a bit.” Chaewon said to Sehun, the latter nodded and dropped his arm.

Sehun glanced over his shoulder and watched as his girl cross the wide hall, his lips quirked up as he noticed people would glance at her as she passed by. Chaewon was a vision in her emerald green dress that hugged her curves nicely.

As if feeling his gaze on her, she stopped and glanced opver her shoulder. She tilted her head at him questioningly.

“Is something wrong?” She mouthed, Sehun shook his head and nodded for her to continue.

“Beautiful.” He mouthed back, Chaewon blninked back at him.

“What?”

“You.” Sehun winked before turning his attention back to director Ahn, Chaewon smiled and shook her head before approaching the Ohs.

Chaewon put her glass of champagne down and looked at the view of the city before her, it was already dark out and the lights from the buildings gave it a more relaxed vibe.

“Seoul at night.” Chaewon murmured as she leaned over the balustrade. She took out her phone and checked her emails, she heard the doors slide behind her.

She turned and found Sehun leaning on the doorway, arms crossed and an amused smile appeared on his face.

“Too much human interaction for you?” She spoke, Sehun nodded and reached to his neck to loosen his bowtie. He undid the tie and let the piece of cloth hang around his neck.

“Aren’t you cold out here?” He asked as he joined her, Sehun shook off his coat, but the girl stopped him.

“I’m fine,”

“You always say it’s fine or you’re fine, and it worries me.” He murmured, she laughed and shook her head.

“I mean it.”

“So,” Sehun spoke as he leaned his elbows on the balustrade, Chaewon looked at him, she reached out to fix the collar of his shirt.

“We’ve come so far, huh?” She said, Sehun glanced at her and nodded.

“Looking back, we met again at a party. I was so shocked to see you, well that’s an understatement. Your family was throwin that party, but, I always thought you would never come back here.”

Chaewon nodded at him.

“I was thinking the same, but oppa…made me.” She mused, Sehun turned to her.

“I was really scared, Chaewon-ah.”

“Of what? Me?” She was teasing, Sehun shook off his head, his forehead creasing.

“I was scared that you would never look at me this way again,” He said softly, Chaewon grew confused.

“What are you talking about?” She spoke as she placed her hand over his arm.

“You used to look at me with so much hatred in your eyes, and I thought, we wouldn’t even be able to friends again, at the least.”

“Was I that bad?” She murmured back, she bit her lip and looked at him.

“Well, look at me, I had no reason to be that mad with you, and yet I was. Not knowing my father almost took your life. I still am surprised you’d want me, Oh Sehun.”

He smiled without looking at her.

“I always have, always will.”

“Sure.” She mused at him, Sehun chuckled before taking her hand in his.

“So, can I ask you something?”

She nodded back at him, now she distracted with the first two buttons of his shirt, Sehun had yanked them open seconds ago.

“But, you have to fix that before we go back in~”

“Chaewon-ah,” Sehun squeezed her hand, wanting her to focus on him.

The girl’s eyes went to him and she paused when she noticed Sehun take out something from his coat pocket. He carefully placed the ring on her palm before speaking again.

“Will you marry me? Or, might you marry me?”
“Please.” He added, Chaewon broke into a smile before jumping in his arms. Sehun kissed her shoulders and wrapped his arms around her.

“Good thing we didn’t ride one car today, right?” He murmured, Chaewon nodded back and pulled back to meet his gaze.

“Yes, Oh Sehun. I will marry you.” She whispered back, Sehun nodded back before putting her down.

“Thank you, Chaewon-ah.”

She scrunched her nose at him, she tugged on the lapels of his coat and pressed her lips against his, Sehun smiled before pinning her against the balustrade.

Chaewon squealed underneath his grip and he chuckled.

“Hey!”

“People will find out if we go back in there and I have swollen lips!” She complained, to which he laughed, again.

“Screw them. You’re officially my fiancé now.” Sehun winked before claiming her lips again.
