Present Time

“She’s here! She’s here!” A JGH employees dashed into the lobby, his co-worker started to scramble into their positions in a rush. And in panic.

“I thought she’d be back by next week. Not today.” One mumbled as he fixed his tie, the woman beside him was running her fingers through her curled hair.

“Exactly, good thing her secretary called in before they left her place.”

And then a black Rolls Royce Phantom rolled into the curb, everyone tensed as the door was opened. And then a young lady dressed in a Fendi pantsuit slid down from the car, a pair of sunglasses framed her face and her Chanel purse hung over one shoulder.

“Good morning, vice president Ji.” The hotel’s manager approached her and greeted her in Korean, she paused, one brow raising.

“Good morning? What’s so good about it?” She spoke, her tone as icy as the look on her face. The male winced and looked down.

“If only you took care of it properly, it wouldn’t have reached the news.” She continued, the male bowed and apologized.

“I’m sorry, vice president. But she was a VVIP guest, we didn’t know that she was capable of~”

“An actress, getting high in our premises, is already damaing enough. But, you just had to let her swing on top of the chandeliers.” She recited, everyone in the lobby didn’t dare to move. Some were even holding their breaths.

“Of course, you had no control over that. She managed to sneak in drugs into our building too, how pleasing.” She said with a humorless smile, the manager bit his lip.

Chaewon exhaled and glanced at her secretary.

“Meeting is in ten minutes. You better have an explanation and a way to fix this.” She stated before walking towards the elevator, they made way as she passed by, careful not to catch her attention.

“Good luck, manager Hong.” Her secretary said quietly before rushing to his boss.

“What do you think about this, vice chairman?”

The tall male looked up from his seat, his eyes went to the screen before them.

“We’re talking about Jeguk’s recent stock price increase. They’re also in talks of purchasing another tanker from Dubai.”

“I heard about this last night, it may affect prices with our deal with them. So, have the preparations be ready.” He said as he leaned back on his seat, his forehead creased as he checked the documents before him.

“What about new release? Is everything on time? Will, it be on schedule?” He pressed.

“Yes, everything will be ready in two weeks’ time. We’ve already spoken with Lotte with our reservation.”

“Good, I’d like a copy of the presentation on my desk before the day ends.” Sehun asked with a small smile.

“Of course, we’ll have it sent over, sir.”

He nodded and rose up from his seat, the rest of the directors followed suit and bowed as he left the room. Sehun exhaled and loosened his tie as he made his way towards the elevators.

“What else do I have for today?” He turned his head to his secretary.

“Your mother asked if you could join them for lunch, sir.”

Sehun nodded and pressed the button on the wall.

“Just a heads up, sir.”

The doors pinged open and they both stepped in.

“What?”

“She invited miss Ko, the daughter of Ko Motor Group to join.” He said carefully, Sehun’s brows rose up and he nodded.

“Well, there’s no escaping that. Please notify the valet to have my car prepared.”

“Yes, sir.”

Sehun stepped out of the elevator and made his way to his office.

Chaewon exhaled as she walked in her room, she shook off her blazer, revealing a sleeveless blouse she was wearing, she removed her earrings and watch and placed them on her blazer.

Everything just went down the drain today. Some actress decided to make a fool of herself at their Beverly Hills branch and the media was all over it.

And their hotel was turned into a laughingstock. Even the LAPD was probing around because the said actress had managed to smuggle in illegal narcotics into the establishment.

Chaewon kicked her shoes away and plopped down on her bed. She turned her head to the window and her forehead creased.

She sat up and ran her fingers through her hair, and then she felt it. The scar just above her nape, she paused and dropped her arm.

It was the only thing she had of him.

The only proof that he once existed in her life.

She shook her head and slid down from her bed, Chaewon made her way to the kitchen and poured herself some wine.

“I shouldn’t be thinking about him.” She said to herself as she started to make some dinner, she glanced at the counter top and saw the most recent photo of her and Jaehwan, her nephew. He had visited her a few months ago right after he turned three.

Chaewon made a mental note to call her brother before going to bed.

Sehun’s eyes went to his father as their food was being served.

“Ah, so you finished schooling in Japan.” His mother was speaking with the Ko heiress, Sehun looked at her.

Japan.

“Yes, auntie. I just got back from my master’s.” Ko Hyejin replied with a small smile.

“Sehun just finished his master’s too, right, son?” Mrs. Oh nudged him, Sehun smiled back and nodded.

“It was somewhat forced, but I had fun.” Sehun said with a teasing grin, Hyejin paused and smiled back.

“My father suggested that I go for it, Sehun-ssi.”

“Sehun-ssi? Just call him Sehun.” Mrs. Oh said cheerfully, her husband shook his head in amusement.

“C—Can I call you that?” Hyejin asked shyly, Sehun nodded back.

“It’s fine. How’s Seoul for you so far? I’m guessing you haven’t been back in a while.” Sehun spoke to her, his tone warm and inviting.

“It’s like nothing changed, but everything seems new.” Hyejin said, Mrs. Oh started to eat.

“Well, things have changed a lot. He used to be so against with lunches like this.” Mr. Oh intervened, Sehun paused briefly but he nodded.

“It can be awkward, uncle.” Hyejin said patiently as she picked up her utensils.

“Right?” Sehun said, his gaze would have melted the girl before him.

“Yes, but I’m glad you were able to join us today, Sehun-ssi.”

Sehun nodded back and went back to eating, and then Hyejin and his mother started to talk about her life back in Japan as the lunch progressed.

He exhaled to himself and put his knife and fork down, he picked up his glass of wine and took small sips to pass time.
