Happy Anniversary!

The Life of the Sixth Member

You can't believe how fast time had passed. it's been six years since you all debuted together; six years of hard work, fun, exploration, ups and downs, and unforgettable memories. Soon your contracts would expire and it would be time to think about the future but you don't want to dwell on that now, you want to celebrate the group's success and the members' individual success the best way you all knew how.

Eating.

Due to everyone being busy with their individual schedules, they usually go home when they have time to rest. Now, you didn't have anywhere else to go and Wendy was staying at her parents' rental house so you were alone in the dorms, with the exceptions of Irene that often stayed at the dorms with you. At first she was staying with you, until you forced her to go home during her breaks because you knew how much she'd missed her family and with how busy she'd been, she didn't have a lot of time to see them. She refused at first, even forcing you to go home with her but she eventually relented after you said you'd go home with her sometimes (as close as you were to her family, you didn't want to intrude too much).

When the anniversary neared, none of them would be back yet so you planned to have a meal on the upcoming Monday, choosing a reservation at the group's favourite restaurant in the outskirts of Seoul. This would provide more privacy and you'd get to celebrate as much as you wanted. With that being said, you kinda knew you'd be all alone in the dorms on the actual anniversary. Regardless, you had prepared the members' presents way before it and it was finished just the day before the anniversary. You had planned to spend the day ordering takeouts and video-calling your members just to see what they're up to. You planned to post on yours and the group's SNS accounts, of course, as a way to celebrate Luvies as well to thank them for all the love and support they had given the group even before their debut.

What you didn't expect, however, was your members coming back to the dorms right on your anniversary to celebrate with you.

The first one to turn up was Irene. You were lying on the sofa, scrolling through your phone over the endless amount of food you could order for lunch when you heard the lock of the dorm's door opened, causing you to sit up and turn towards the direction of the entrance to see who was behind the door. You figured maybe it was your manager; she had your passcode and figuring you'd be alone, maybe she wanted to spend the day with you to celebrate the anniversary. What you didn't expect was Irene's beautiful face and soft greeting of "Anyone's home?" making you gasp aloud, scrambling to stand up from the sofa before facing her again with surprise still evident on your face.

When she saw your face, she immediately lit up before fully stepping into the room and closing the door behind her, putting her handbag on the table near the door.

"Hyun-unnie, what are you doing here?" You asked breathlessly as if you couldn't believe she's here.

She beamed at you, scuttling over to where you were and immediately wrapping her arms around your waist when she was within range, head on your chest. You immediately hugged back with your arms around her shoulder and head on top of hers, breathing in her familiar shampoo scent. "I've missed you so much, El."

"I've missed you too, Unnie, so much." You kissed the side of her head before hugging her closer into you as if trying to meld your bodies together. No matter that it was you who was pushing her to go home, you can't help but miss your guardian.

She snuggled closer, then lifted her head a little prompting you to lean back from the hug so you could face her. "What are you doing here? I thought you'd be in Daegu until Monday morning?" You asked quietly while your right hand was her hair softly.

The leader looked up at you with a warm gaze, a loving smile on her lips. "I came to spend the day with you. There's no way you're spending our anniversary alone, Eli-ah, not on my watch."

You grinned, softly pinching her right cheek before hugging her again. She knew when you're this clingy it's because you've been touch-deprived but didn't want to make her feel guilty by leaving you, so she snuggled even more into your chest and a relieved sigh leaving her lips. She felt as if a weight had been lifted off her chest.

"Well, I was about to order food. Shall we eat?" You quietly asked after a while, still not wanting to disturb the comfortable atmosphere.

There was a beat. "Can we get tteokbokki?" Her voice was so small you internally squealed. She's just too cute.

You chuckled lowly, patting her back and placing a light kiss on her head before pulling back from the hug to give her the smile you reserve only for her. "Of course, Hyun-unnie. It's on me."

You thought about giving her the present now but decided against it, opting to give the presents on Monday as originally planned.

After lunch, the other members started showing up one by one, surprising you time and time again. You honestly didn't know how they had made this agreement without you knowing but you were thankful by their thoughtfulness. Truth to be told, you didn't want to celebrate your anniversary all by yourself but you didn't want to disturb the others' rest time with their family amidst their busy schedules and disturb Wendy who had been busy practising her vocals and physique. Nonetheless, your members knew what you were feeling deep down and took action themselves. You've been there for them no matter what they needed, it was time for them to do the same for you.

The last one to show up was Yeri, bringing home-cooked food gracefully made by her mother causing you to grin. Her presence was greeted enthusiastically by all her unnies and she couldn't help but let a wide grin appear on her lips, letting out that signature laugh of hers.

"I'm home!"

"Yerimmie!" All of you shouted and you got up from your seat to greet your baby sister. After Yeri had put the food on the kitchen table she turned towards you with bright eyes and smile, running straight into your arms.

"Eli-unnie! I've missed you so much!"

You accepted her hug with one of your own, enveloping her with the warmth only you can provide. Her arms were wrapped tightly around your waist and her head was placed on her favourite spot, just above your heart.

"Hello, Sweetheart. I'm so happy to see you." It's been days since you've seen her so you made sure to transfer your warmth to her, making her snuggle even further.

You both stayed like that for a little while before all the older members came to where you were to see what was taking so long, only to be greeted by the sweet moment. Irene, ever the leader and mother figure, quickly snapped some pictures before the others could disturb the moment.

"Hey, are we invited to this hug fest?"

You chuckled at Joy's remark before opening one of your arms as a welcoming gesture. "Yeah, we want a hug too!" Seulgi chimed in and you could just hear the pout in her voice.

"Come here, Unnies."

All of them quickly scrambled into your embrace and you held your position whilst looking out for Wendy, making sure she wasn't being squished. They grunted some more before finally melting into the group hug, making you smile fondly. What a loving family you have here.

"Group hug!" Wendy let out and all of you giggled, swaying in the embrace.

"Happy anniversary, girls. I... love you all." This time it was Irene and you could just detect the wince she had on her face by her declare of love for her members. All of you laughed, knowing it was hard for her to say such things.

"We love you too, Joohyun-unnie! Thank you for being the best leader for us!" Joy's declaration was met by sounds of agreement and other declares of love, laughs echoing throughout the dorm.

You spent the night eating the food Yeri brought and reminiscing the past six years you've spent together. Even though you made individual gifts for your members, you also made a frame full of group photos inside it that you meant to hang up in the living room, just like a real family. You presented it to them and they all gasped collectively, you being able to see the tears that immediately appeared in their eyes.

You teased them a little before letting them marvel over the frame, talking about each photo with glee written in their faces. You were home.

At first I wrote this for me but I'm definitely ecstatic because other people find it fun too. I hope this story, even though I can't upload as often as I used to, can still provide you with the same feeling after a long day. I really appreciate all of you beyond words can explain ♥️

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the last chapter! To reply to a comment, I guess we're seeing a lot of her vulnerable side now, huh? That's because Eli's starting to accept them, not pushing her troubles away and asking her members for help when she knows she can :)

Hi, everyone! I'm sorry for being so absent these past few months or even a year. I've been dealing with a lot and every time I open a new chapter to write, I always lose the creativity T_T I'm so sorry. Recently, I've just lost an uncle who loved me very much and I've been dealing with the loss. Thank you for always reaching out to me and waiting for a new chapter, I promise I will try to write soon. I also apologise for not replying to your comments, the website is not allowing me to do so I'm not sure why so I just write it here. I really appreciate all of you and I hope we can be here enjoying the stories I write for a long time. Thank you and I hope I'll see you soon ❤️
