An Unexpected Session

The Life of the Sixth Member

"Hi, everyone!" You gave the camera your best smile although the fans that began to trickle in could see how you were trying to hide your sadness. Of what? They didn't know.

"I know it's been quite a while since Red Velvet had any schedules," you let out a low chuckle. "But I promise you'll see us soon and you won't be disappointed."

You went quiet for a bit, reading the comments. You saw a lot of comments in Korean but you also saw a lot of them in English, so you had the idea to speak in both languages.

You knew international fans would watch anyway and maybe catch the translations much later but you've been missing the fans and would do anything to spend more time with them.

"For international ReVeluvs, hello! Welcome to my show!"  You gave the fans a wink, knowing if your members were here they would definitely smack you or something.

You sighed, leaning back on your seat. You were sitting on the floor, in your room, with your guitar next to you. You were feeling a little bit down and you didn't know what else you could do to fix it. You tried meditation, exercise, reading, but none of it worked. You would come to Irene or Wendy but all the members were out so you thought maybe singing to the fans would help.

"I'm feeling a little down right now. My mood gets like that sometimes so I thought singing with my guitar," you leaned to the side to retrieve it, coming back to the camera with a happier smile on your face. "would help! So, the songs that I'm going to sing would probably be a little sad but you can request songs too, maybe I'll do them."

You tuned your guitar before looking up at the camera again. "I'll be singing some songs and if you want to request, go ahead! Maybe I'll do them."

You strung the guitar and the first song that was played was Taylor Swift's White Horse. You've always loved things song and when you're feeling a little sad or a little bit angsty, this song would always be on top of your list.

"Say you're sorry, that face of an angel comes out just when you needed to..."

The moment you sang, everyone was entranced. With RV songs, they usually don't showcase your voice that much because your voice was much more suited for rap parts or harmony parts. So, when events like this happen the fans don't hesitate to record the whole thing.

They want to show the world how amazing your voice is.

You got so into the song that you closed your eyes, focusing on the calming effect singing and playing the guitar had on your emotions. You're lucky you remembered the placements of the chords or something would've sounded off by now.

After you finished the song you opened your eyes again, gaze a little happier and chest a little lighter. You knew this was a good idea.

You gave the camera a warm smile. "Did you enjoy that?"

You saw the comments and couldn't help but blush. "Aw, you guys are too sweet. Thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot." You hoped the fans knew that you meant what you said.

You strummed the chords for the next song, which was Demi Lovato's Stone Cold, and the audience was busy typing how they were going to probably cry hearing you sing with such emotions.

Well, you didn't disappoint. You sang with the right amount of emotion and you even got a little teary, really feeling the meaning of the song. When it ended, you chuckled tearily while wiping the tear that escaped your eye, shaking your head.

"This song always gets me," you looked at the camera. "Just know that you guys are strong, okay? No matter how much your heart breaks, you have to know that you can be happy again," you let out a sad smile, "even if it takes a long time."

Now the comment section was going off about who dared to hurt you and how you made them cry.

Eventually reading the comments you laughed loudly, throwing your head back. Your laugh gets this loud and this extra when it's genuine, and the fans were glad to see it.

"I didn't mean to make you cry!" You read the comments for a little more. "And I'm not answering the previous question," you gave the camera a wink for the second time.

"Ready for the next song?" The intro to Rihanna's Stay came and the fans were just losing it at this point.

You thought the members might be too, considering you saw a lot of group text notifications on the top of the screen and one of Joohyun's which screamed in all caps that she was coming home.

That brought a smile to your face.

You sang again and by this point, you were completely serene. You didn't feel sad anymore and although it varies, you were just glad this mood didn't last too long.

After that, you sang a few songs based on request which involved Wendy's Goodbye and Last Love. Now, you loved these songs to bits and you were so happy the fans requested them. It fitted the mood and even though you didn't feel sad anymore, you sang this song like it was yours and the fans were having a field day.

They felt even more connected to you now that you've shown your vocals and interacted directly with the fans.

After Last Love, you heard the beep of the apartment door open and you grinned, putting your guitar in its place.

"Someone's home!" Knowing they would come to your room when they see fit, you read more of the comments and replied to some questions. In the middle of one, a series of knocks could be heard and you smiled at the camera.

"Yes, Hyun-unnie?"

You turned as the door opened and you could see her standing there, a bag of your favourite cookies in one hand and coffee in the other.

"Eli-ah~" Irene subconsciously pouted as she came to your side and hugged you with everything still in her hands, which meant it was you who basically held all her weight.

You hugged her back while chuckling, hands around her back so she wouldn't fall from her position on your lap. You knew the fans were probably freaking out and you kinda worried that Irene would regret her actions later.

"I'm still on Live," you whispered and she just nodded, pulling back from the hug and sitting in front of you instead.

Irene held up both her hands, her pout still visible. "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you were sad. How are you feeling now?"

You looked at her with love in your eyes and a warm, genuine smile on your lips. Her pout turned into a gorgeous smile. "I'm okay now, thank you, Hyun-unnie."

You took the beverages from her hands. "Thank you so much for these! You know you didn't have to, right?"

"Oh I know," she nodded cutely. "But I wanted to and the girls are coming back too, but because I was the closest they asked me to buy something for you too," she shrugged and you cooed, bringing her in your embrace again after you put down everything.

"Thank you so much." You closed your eyes in bliss as you felt her hug you back. "I love you."

"I love you too, El."

You squeezed her one more time before pulling back, facing the camera which made Irene do the same.

"Say hi, Unnie!"

Irene scooted a little closer, looking at the screen. "Hello, everyone! Thank you for keeping Eli company!"

You laughed while the comment section buzzed with reaction seeing the Goddess.

"Members, thank you for the coffee and the cookies. Let's have a movie night after this, yeah?"

You knew they were watching and you could see the replies being sent in the group chat. You gave the camera a grin.

"Well, I think it's time for me to sign off," you let out a sigh, looking at Irene for approval. She looked at you and nodded to your silent question.

"Thank you so much Luvies for being here with me! Thank you for joining me, everyone!" You grinned while waving, Irene following.

"We''ll see you at the concert! Byeeeeeee!"

"Byeeee!"

You turned off the live and sighed before sipping on your coffee. You looked at Irene to see her already looking at you with concern still evident in her eyes.

You put down the drink and scooted closer to her, putting both hands on her cheeks. "I'm fine, Unnie. I promise."

She leaned into your touch. "I'm glad. Sorry I couldn't be there when you needed me the most."

"It's not your fault," you kissed her forehead lightly. "So don't feel guilty, okay?"

You had a stare-off before she eventually sighed and nodded, putting her head on your chest and her arms around your waist in a hug. You put both hands on her back, savouring the warmth your leader was giving.

"They should be here soon. Should we order the food?"

You smiled. "Yeah, let's eat some yummy food!"

Times like this made you remember the love and support the people in your life had for you. You'll always be thankful for your members and Luvies.

At first I wrote this for me but I'm definitely ecstatic because other people find it fun too. I hope this story, even though I can't upload as often as I used to, can still provide you with the same feeling after a long day. I really appreciate all of you beyond words can explain ♥️

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the last chapter! To reply to a comment, I guess we're seeing a lot of her vulnerable side now, huh? That's because Eli's starting to accept them, not pushing her troubles away and asking her members for help when she knows she can :)

Hi, everyone! I'm sorry for being so absent these past few months or even a year. I've been dealing with a lot and every time I open a new chapter to write, I always lose the creativity T_T I'm so sorry. Recently, I've just lost an uncle who loved me very much and I've been dealing with the loss. Thank you for always reaching out to me and waiting for a new chapter, I promise I will try to write soon. I also apologise for not replying to your comments, the website is not allowing me to do so I'm not sure why so I just write it here. I really appreciate all of you and I hope we can be here enjoying the stories I write for a long time. Thank you and I hope I'll see you soon ❤️
