Unexpected Roadtrip
In The Right Place.
“Where are we going Jongin?” I asked him for the fourth time on Wednesday afternoon, he had literally pulled me away from my locker after grabbing my bag and pulled me out of there before the others could see us.
He sighed “Can’t you just be quiet?”
“And you call me mean.” I scoffed in disbelief although I was pretty surprised by Kai’s sudden act of boldness. His hand was firmly laced through mine as he dragged me behind him “I like how you’re brave enough to hold my hand Jongin.”
“You make everything weird for me!” He said releasing my hand and running both of his hands through his hair “Just…” he seemed to be having an internal fight with himself before he stuffed his hands into his pocket “Come on.”
I was not expecting to be stood at a bus stop just as a bus arrived and Kai clambered on, he looked down at me with an annoyed gaze and I sighed following him onto it. I watched as he paid for us both and moved towards the back of the bus.
I followed him and sat down next to him “You know I could have paid for that?”
“I’m aware.” He answered sarcastically “But I’ve invited you so it’s my treat.”
“Invited me where exactly?” I asked.
He smiled at me with a glint in his eyes “You’ll see.”
“I like this spur of the moment side of you Jongin.” I admired.
He looked at me for a second “Do you mind if I hold your hand?”
“No.” I answered without a second thought.
He reached over and laced his fingers through mine “Good because it makes me feel better.”
“Why?” I asked.
He rolled his eyes at me “Because I fear you’ll disappear.”
“Wow I’m not a make-believe character Jongin I’m not just going to evaporate.” I snorted at his childishness.
He smiled at me, taking me by surprise that he wasn’t going to frown at me or do his usual glare “Good.” He said it as if I put his mind at ease. As if he truly believed I would evaporate into the atmosphere.
So I rested my head against his shoulder and he didn’t seem to care “You know you’re my best friend right?” I said to him.
“We’ve known each other for like a week and a half.” He muttered.
I shrugged “So what?”
