Not such an Ultimatum
In The Right Place.
Moving schools wasn’t my first choice when my parents gave me an ultimatum that really wasn’t an ultimatum. One was just a better option than the other. I could either be forced to move abroad and study back in England for the rest of my academic life.
Or I could move to Seoul where my brother was currently living and live in the same apartment complex as him. I had argued with them over making me invade my brothers space and make me live with him but they decided that maybe I could use one of the apartments in the same complex that they own.
And people think their parents are controlling their lives. They have no idea.
My friends were not happy to learn that I was being forced to move but were supportive of whatever I wanted. They said they’d rather have me move to a different town than a different country.
Besides what was the point?
So now here I was stood in my new, slightly bare apartment with all of my things from our old house and my brother who was stood in the door way with his arms folded across his chest.
“Thanks for protecting my privacy.” He spoke up softly.
I turned to look at him and smirked “Who said it was to do with your privacy? Like I’d want to live with you.”
He smiled back at me – knowing that it was our little thing to banter “Wouldn’t want your foul stench anyway.”
“I missed you.” I suddenly blurted before turning back around.
He nodded to himself “I know. I missed you too.”
“This is it isn’t it?” I asked “What freedom is like?”
