Luhan gulped and gathered all his courage. He bit his lip one last time before he turned around quickly.There, he saw Xiumin who immediately stopped ruffling his hair after he got up abruptly. They looked at each other for a while, blinking rapidly, before the cupid smiled.

"Hello," Xiumin greeted him casually. 

Luhan raised his eyebrows in confusion, "Eh?"

Xiumin chuckled, "I said hello, Luhannie."

"Yes, I heard you. But...why are you here? It's.." Luhan glanced at the clock before he continued, "... midnight." 

"Well,..." Xiumin giggled and leaned closer to him before he whispered, "It's my birthday so I decided to come here so you can greet me first."

Luhan smiled awkwardly in response. 

"So... aren't you going to greet me, Luhannie?" asked Xiumin with much anticipation. He was beaming like a five-year old. Usually, he brings food or drink with him wherever he goes, but Luhan realized that he was empty-handed at that moment. 

"He is 25 but he acts like five," Luhan thought while shaking his head. He was hiding the amused expression on his face so not to offend Xiumin in any way. He might get the wrong impression so Luhan kept it lie low. He then raised his head and showed an earnest smile before greeting Xiumin, 

"Happy, Happy Birthday, Xiumin."

The eldest cupid beamed even more. His eyes sparkled in the midst of darkness and Luhan slowly felt the chilly ambiance around them. He brushed his palm across his arm and realized that winter is near. He glanced at the window to see the snow falling. The excitement filled Luhan's eyes and he hurriedly jumped out of bed to approach the window.

"It's snowing...." he uttered while Xiumin watched him happily. It was cold obviously yet Luhan couldn't help but open the window to feel the snow. He reached out his arms and the white droplet covered the tip of his fingers. 

"Waaahhh...This is awesome! I almost forgot that winter is drawing near," he mumbled. The thought of Christmas ignited his festive feelings and he immediately smiled in excitement. 

"Do you like Xmas, Luhannie?" asked Xiumin.

Luhan nodded and added, "Of course! Who doesn't? I mean, even though I always spent Xmas at home, I enjoy my mother's hot choco and mallows. Plus, I received more painting materials from my family so it's really nice. Joyful memories."

"What about..kissing under the mistletoe? I heard people do that during Xmas," Xiumin inquired further.

Luhan quickly shook his head, "No no. I don't do that. I can't do that... Only lovers do such a thing."

"Oh. I see," Xiumin nodded.

After a while, Luhan remembered that it was Xiumin's special day so he should give him something. He finally closed the window and asked the cupid what he wants as a gift.

"Let's have a celebration. All of us can go to an ice cream parlor or bakery since you love to eat sweets" suggested Luhan. "I'll treat you."

"That's so kind of you, Luhannie," Xiumin was pleased, he tugged Luhan for a hug. "I will be very happy if you do that."

Luhan patted his shoulder and drifted away from the hug. "Tomorrow then," Luhan uttered. "For now, I really have to go to bed. Will you go back home?"

Xiumin pouted and shook his head. "I wanna stay here."

"Eh? But..I need to sleep--"

"I will be waiting until you wake up," said Xiumin as he settled at the edge of the bed comfortably. 

"Are you sure? I mean..."

"It's fine," Xiumin assured him. "You don't have to worry. I don't really sleep much. Maybe I'll just ... sit by the window to watch the snow. I guess you aren't comfortable with me sitting right next to you while you sleep."

"Well....yah," answered Luhan honestly. The cupid laughed then added, "But you already slept with Lay, didn't you?"

Luhan's eyes grew bigger, "NO! I didn't know he was..."

Xiumin pulled the blanket and covered Luhan before standing up and pacing across the room. "I was joking." He then got the chair from Luhan's desk and placed it near the window. Luhan watched him as he laid his arms on the window railing as he gazed outside. 

"Will you be okay?" he asked.

"Yup! Go ahead and sleep," Xiumin replied assuringly.

Afterwards, Luhan decided to give in to slumber while Xiumin killed time by playing tricks with the snow. The cheerful expression didn't leave his face, knowing that Luhan was with him and because it was the first birthday he celebrated after finding that one person he likes the most.

That morning, Luhan woke up with a loud screaming. He sat up quickly to see Baekhyun having an early morning wrestling with Xiumin on the floor while Suho and Chanyeol tried to stop them.

He jumped out of bed and yelled, "Stop it!"

Baekhyun halted and dropped on the floor, terrified at his outburst. Xiumin, looked up at him in surprise. Chanyeol, too, froze by Luhan's unexpected action. While his brothers were motionless, Sehun found the opportunity to popped behind Luhan's back and kissed his cheeks out of the blue. "Morning, Luhannie!" Luhan glared at him as he turned around.

Sehun was stunned and wasn't able to speak. His jaw dropped and eyes stuck on Luhan's pissed face. Realizing that Luhan was angry, he sniffed, hid his face and sobbed, "Why are you like that, Luhannie?"

"Someone's not in a good mood," uttered Kris.

D.O nodded. 

"I ....think...I'm ...scared," Tao murmured. He was about to give Sehun a piece of his mind (like always) after kissing Luhan in front of them. However, after hearing the uproar, he felt weak-kneed to start a fight with the youngest one.

Luhan sighed heavily before rubbing his head forcibly. He felt guilty yelling at the cupids and giving Sehun a bad look, but he couldn't help but feel annoyed. He was excited to celebrate with them since it's Xiumin's birthday but he woke up with a fight between the former and Baek. He instantly lost his temper at the sight.

"You woke up at the wrong side of the bed?" said Kai as he approached Luhan. He messed his hair casually before putting his arm across his shoulder. "Stop sulking and smile."

Baekhyun closed his eyes, afraid of what Luhan might do to Kai. Tao also looked away, not wanting to know what's gonna happen. D.O fixed his glasses and waited for Luhan's outburst. 

"Kai," Suho tried to stop him but the cupid continued. He pinched Luhan's nose and the rest gasped for air.

"You...did..that," Tao uttered in a terrified manner. 

While their imaginative minds thought of how Luhan will react to the "careless" Kai, Luhan turned to the latter before he sighed. He calmed down and nodded obediently.

[Tao] *dot dot dot

[Suho] *surprised

[Chen] *lifted his eyebrows knowingly

[D.O] O.O?

[Lay] *blink *blink

[Kris] *smirked suggestively

[Chanyeol] *huffed and looked away

[Xiumin] *frowned and tilted his head to the side like a puppy

[Baekhyun] :O

Sehun's face darkened. He rolled his eyes subtly before he pursed his lips and looked away.

"Now smile," Kai encouraged Luhan. The latter got away from his hold and forced a smile as a tease. Kai arched his eyebrow as a response.

While they were having a moment, Chen cleared his throat and spoke, "It's Xiumin's birthday today, right?"

Luhan remembered and excitedly answered back, "Oh yes! I was pla-nni-ng-- " He paused midway when he realized that he was talking to Chen. Yes, Chen; the cupid who was warm and friendly. The brotherly Chen who cared for him like a brother. Chen, the cupid, who then confessed his feelings randomly yesterday and caught Luhan offguard.

Luhan gulped deliberately while Chen waited for him to continue.  "What were you saying, Luhannie?"

"Uhm.. yes.. well I -- planned to treat Xiumin for his birthday," Luhan struggled to answer while feeling all flustered and shy.

"Ah. That's good," remarked Chen. He then turned to the rest and asked, "What about us? What shall we do for Umin's birthday?"

"Achoooo!!!!!" Chanyeol sneezed loudly while he and the rest were walking on the street to reach the place where they will celebrate Xiumin's birthday. "Ahh.. I dislike winter."

Luhan curiosity took over and he asked out of nowhere, "Is it because of your powers?"

Chanyeol looked down at his side to see Luhan looking up at him and waiting for his answer. He nodded, covered his mouth and sneezed once more.

"It's not even cold," said Suho who was walking side by side with Chen. 

Sehun and Tao were behind Luhan, following him like lost puppies while D.O and Baekhyun held Kai on both sides as they walk to hinder him from getting closer to Lulu. 

"Will you let me go? I-know how to walk," the grumpy cupid asserted but to no avail. 

Lay was with Xiumin and he was happily singing the happy birthday song to his brother while clapping his hands. It caught the people's attention around them.

"They probably think we're a bunch of wits and weirdos," said Kris who was walking slowly behind them, not wanting to be a part of the "strange" group.

"WE are a bunch of weirdos, Kris," Chen remarked. 

Kris just huffed and shrugged.

The snow started to fall again and Chanyeol put on his hoodie, trying to save himself from further cold while the rest enjoyed it. He rubbed his palms and secretly lit a fire to warm himself. 

When they finally arrived at the ice cream shop, Xiumin hurriedly went inside and was amazed by the selection of flavors. He turned to Luhan and thanked him.

"You're welcome, Xiumin," he replied sincerely.

"It's cold and we're eating ice cream," Chanyeol mumbled, uninterested. 

Chen pushed him, "Stop complaining, Channie. We decided to eat here. This is for Xiumin, remember?"

"Yes yes," Chanyeol answered back weakly.

After they enjoyed the variety of ice cream flavor at the shop, Luhan suggested for them to get Xiumin a cake and the rest agreed. Tao looked back at Suho and asked for his credit card. 

"No," Suho refused. "You buy your own gift for Xiumin."

Tao frowned, "But I don't have money! When did you become so selfish?"

They started squabbling while Luhan gazed at the colorful cakes one by one. Sehun was following him on the side and instead of thinking what he wants to buy, he was busy adoring Luhan's face. Baekhyun took pictures of Luhannie while they were at the ice cream shop and he was secretly checking them out in the corner, away from the meddling arse of his brothers.

[Xiumin] I want that one, and that one...that, too...

[Chen] Xiumin Xiumin..wait..that's ..whoah! That's a lot!

[Kris] Hey.

Kris restrained Xiumin from ordering more cakes by pulling him away from the counter, "That's enough."

[Xiumin] But it's my birthday--

[Kris] And Luhan looks at you like a pig now. 

Xiumin pouted.

"For once, act like your age, brother," D.O added as they joined them.

Kris smirked, "Thank you for backing me up."

D.O glanced at him and frowned, "Who's backing up who?"

Kris' eyelids narrowed. "Right. I forgot it's you, D.O. I can't expect a proper and fruitful conversation from a sarcastic nerd like you," he said after being rejected by his younger brother.

After the long hours of wait, Xiumin finally gave in and decided to rest from eating. Since it was snowing heavily, they returned to Luhan's room at once. There, they laid on the floor, dealing with food-coma. 

Luhan sat on his bed and slowly flopped down, "That was a lot of food," he murmured.

"Hm..." the person lying next to him agreed. When Luhan turned to his side, he found Kai staring back at him. Luhan looked away and smiled.

Later that evening, the cupids were still lazily lounging in Luhan's room. They were uninterested in going back home. 

Luhan was working on his class report while they watched him in a daze.

"He's...adorable," Baekhyun uttered breathlessly while hugging his camera. Tao immediately nodded. Lay couldn't help but giggle slyly in the corner. 

"Luhannie looks like an angel...." Sehun mumbled. He was gazing at Luhan in cloud nine with mouth wide opened. He was almost drooling and it bothered Chanyeol so he instantly poke Sehun's chin to stop him.

Hearing their whispers and hissing, Luhan glanced at them and frowned.

"Oh no no," Baekhyun said in defense. "Don't mind us, Luhannie. Just finish what you're doing." While Baekhyun speaks, D.O rose to his feet and approached Luhan in his desk.

"I can help you if you want."

Luhan looked at him and smiled in appreciation, "Thanks, D.O. But I don't think you're into....arts."

"Who said that?" D.O remarked. "I am into everything you're into, Luhan."

"Pfft!" Sehun rolled his eyes while Baekhyun showed a disgusted look.

D.O ignored his brothers and continued to offer help to Luhan who finally accepted, seeing the former's eagerness. D.O happily leaned closer to see what Luhan was trying to finish. He was focused and dedicated to be of help for the latter until his eyes failed him. His concentration was thrown away when he glanced at Luhan's hand. He remembered the "thing". D.O slowly smiled and got Luhan's palm. He gently opened it and the flower sprang at once.

"It's still growing," he murmured, obviously flattered. 

Luhan closed his palm quickly and smiled awkwardly, but D.O haven't got enough.

"I want to see it again," he asserted.

"D.O--"

"Please, Luhan.."

When he grabbed Luhan's palm and forced to open it again, Xiumin walked behind them and poked the plant. 

It immediate froze. 

.....

D.O stared at the frozen flower blankly until he realized what happened.

"WHAAATTT DID YOU DO?!!!!!!" His face turned gloomy.

"You were supposed to help Luhannie," uttered Xiumin with a stern voice. D.O looked at him in shock.  The eldest one added, "You told me to act my age so I am doing it."

The rest fixed their eyes on Xiumin's composed face. 

Not long, Baekhyun bursted out laughing. Chen covered his face in embarrassment for his brother. 

"Not working?" Xiumin's seriousness dropped and he almost cried at his brothers' mocking reaction. Kris approached Xiumin and patted his back in sympathy.

Luhan scratched his head and sighed. 

The cupids started bickering and tease one another again.

Two hours later, they have finally decided to go back home. It was ten in the evening and Luhan was still busy with school matters. Chanyeol initiated for them to leave, knowing that Luhan couldn't finish anything if they're present. One by one, they said their good nights to him and tried to get a kiss from the latter only to be stopped by Chanyeol every time. 

"I need a good night kiss!" Sehun asserted while Kris held him back. "Let me go!"

"NO," replied Kris who then tugged him away from the window where Sehun was trying to hold on to.

Luhan watched them go and when they disappeared in his sight, he pulled the window down. 

"Hey..."

He jerked when Kai suddenly popped and stopped him before he totally closed it.

"I haven't said good night yet," the cupid stated.

"You've told me that already," Luhan answered back.

"I did not..."

"You did..."

"I can't remember,"

"I remember."

"....."

"....."

"Alright. You win," Kai gracefully retreated. "But... can you at least give me something so I can make it through the night without seeing you?"

Luhan narrowed his eyes, "No. You go home cup--"

Kai leaned closer and planted a kiss on his forehead, "Today was fun." He arched his head back to see Luhan's reaction. The latter was squeezing his eyes closed while he crinkled his nose. Kai smiled and cupped his neck. "See you tomorrow."

Luhan just nodded with eyes closed and lips pursed. 

"Good night, Luhan..."

......

Luhan slowly opened his eyes and calmed. He huffed and curved his lips upward, "Good night, Kai. I'll see you tomorrow."

He turned around and added, "And please. Don't come around while I'm still in the shower."

As Luhan went to his bed, he felt rather contented. Kai was right. It was a fun day for them. He felt unusually happy knowing that for the next days, he could spend time with them and their silliness; exhausting but gratifying. 

And as Xmas drew closer, he got more excited to think that this year, he will celebrate it with them.

"I look forward to that," he murmured. "Joyful memories. We should create joyful memories."

"You can't go back to Earth tomorrow."

The cupids instantly frowned and complained after hearing their mother. They were gathered inside the fancy dining hall of the kingdom to celebrate Xiumin's birthday. Qupid was sitting on the main chair; drinking his glass of wine and listening to his whinny sons.

"You need to meet the rest of the cupids tomorrow. Release that stubbornness and listen to your mother," she asserted. "This is what we do when one of you celebrates your birthday."

[Tao] But Lulu...

[Baekhyun] *scans his camera in panic while sobbing* I can't see him tomorrow. Oh Luhannie!

[D.O] I need to help him with his report. 

[Suho] *disappointed face* 

[Chen] *sighed 

[Chanyeol] .....

[Sehun] Mother, I have to see him. I miss him already.

[Kris] .....

[Xiumin] This is my fault...*sniffs

[Lay] zZZZZ *confident that he'll see Luhan in his dreams*

Kai gulped before letting out a heavy sigh. He just told Luhan that he'll see him tomorrow only to realize later that he can't. They can't. He's pretty sure Xyke will do something to retract his teleportation power to make sure he stays. He was turning all dark and frustrated. Qupid noticed him.

"Why are you all worked up? It's just a day that you can't see--- who is it again?," he finally spoke amidst the complaints.

"Luhannie." They chorused.

"Luhannie," Qupid finished. He sipped his wine before adding, "Don't forget your responsibilities here. I let you have most of your time with him but that doesn't mean you will all leave and neglect what's needed to be done in the kingdom."

Chanyeol felt guilty all of a sudden.

"All of you..." Qupid furthered. "If you really adore him, grow up. Your reactions tell me that you're all such a kid when it comes to your feelings. Stop playing around and act maturely."

Xyke was speechless for a moment. She was confused and couldn't make up her mind if it was really her husband who spoke.

His usually playful husband scolding his sons.

The carefree Qupid teaching his sons to man up.

"Are you kidding me?" she murmured, not knowing that her husband caught her words.

"I'm not," Qupid replied quickly as he glanced at Xyke. 

The brothers looked at each other in silence.

The next day, Luhan opened his eyes and sat up quickly. He looked around to see his room emptied from noise and bickering. He was alone.

It was a chilly and quiet morning.
