Chapter 16 Halloween Part 1
The Exchange ProgramAs you found yourself without a steady source of income, you were most certainly not going to pay Kris back the large sum of money. Tao of course went for the most expensive food, clothing, acessories, and dog type. Kris probably knew that you wouldn't pay it back, which is why he offered you to take care of the dog. You were now forced to agree to help Tao take of the dumb animal.
It was a seriously dumb dog. Tao scared it with his enthusiasm the first day it was brought in the dorm, and it now spent most of it's time hiding. As a result, Lay stepped on it's tail numerous times because it was lying on the ground or blending into the wall. Tao had managed to pick the smallest dog, and it was white hence blending into most of the dorm furniture.
You had managed to catch the dog and tie a red balloon around it so you could always tell where it was, but you were guessing it was only a matter of time before that plan failed.
Tao had also named the dog Candy, a name that for you, made it that much harder to love the troublesome ball of fur. When Chen had first heard their was a pure bred dog in the apartment had jumped at the chance and asked to buy it. He was still carrying on fascination with becoming a parent and figured a dog was the perfect choice,
"You can just sell a dog if you don't like it. Apparantly, you can't do that with babies," was his reasoning. The moment he had come over to 'inspect' the dog, even though Tao refused to give up his precious Candy, he had backed out. "That is not a dog, but a walking tampon. There is nothing impressive about that."
A few days later, Tao was beginning to regret not giving the dog to Chen. He realized he now had to walk the dog every day, train it to use the newspaper rather than his bed, and feed it every. Of course Kris chimed in, "Jangmi can do that all for you Tao. All you need to do is pet the dog and parade it in front of the ladies." You flipped him off, a motion Chen had taught you. He in turn, covered Tao's eyes.
Halloween also came faster than expected and soon you found yourself putting on the dreaded pumpkin costume and walking to Xiumin and Luhan's dorm, where the group would meet up before heading to Wendy's place.
All you knew about Wendy was that she had a weird dip dye in her hair and that she lived on soriety lane. That lane was the part of the University that contained all the frat houses and sorority houses. And from what you had heard about those houses, you were dreading the party even more. You certainly hoped the looks you were got from people on your way to the boy's dorms was not a preview of w
