D.o You Not See Me?

Officially Missing You - Alpha and Beta College AU

Ugh! Did my studies, wrote a story....lemme see what else. Um, ate peanut butter. That's my life, I guess. Hahahahaha.

If there was one thing Kyungsoo didn't want to admit, it would have to be his stalking skills. Really, he was brilliant in this field. The master of all masters of disguise. He'd blend in like a chameleon and held the highest record of staying silent after his cloak of invisibility had been draped over him. Not literally.

But so far, after spending an hour in Jongin's business lecture, nothing significant had happened yet.

It had been a week since the Christmas holidays started. After Kyungsoo was discharged from the hospital, Jongin stayed with him for a week in the beta frat house and took care of him. Kyungsoo didn't want to admit that he enjoyed the royal treatment given by his boyfriend. But that wasn't the whole truth, he enjoyed it tremendously. *grins*

Jongin was really bad in cooking, that Kyungsoo did admit.

"Why did you put ice cubes in the dish?" He asked.

To which Jongin answered, rather defensively, "I don't want you to burn your tongue."

How sweet. But the food was awful.

The younger boy felt so put-down by the remark that Kyungsoo ended up cooking his favourite meal to make him feel better. It was only in the kitchen where their roles switched and Kyungsoo had to baby his boyfriend.

They also did a lot of kissing and cuddling. When they weren't kissing in his bedroom, Kyungsoo would ultimately find himself pinned against the wall in the living room, the couch, the fridge, the kitchen counters, the windows, the dining table, the landing before the staircase, the staircase itself (ing hurt), the banister (that hurt too), the bathroom door, the tub, the bathroom sink, the carpet in Kyungsoo's room, the carpet in Luhan's room, Jongdae's bed, Baekhyun's wardrobe, Minseok's desk, and a lot more places Kyungsoo couldn't recall.

They didn't cuddle in the same places, however. Kyungsoo preferred to cuddle his boyfriend in his bed, or on the couch downstairs. It was more comfortable.

When they weren't cuddling or kissing, Jongin constantly ran to and fro between the beta frat and the alpha frat, simply to bring back a movie that he could watch with Kyungsoo. He could have brought his whole collection of movies in three rounds but that was more tiring, because he'd have to find a way to carry everything back later.

They watched some horror movies, comedy flicks, chick flicks, action movies, and even a back-to-back rerun of How I Met Your Mother. Jongin had never seen Kyungsoo laughed so much. And he loved every single moment of it.

Now that the holidays were over, classes began once more. Kyungsoo was not supposed to have any classes---Microbiology, ugh!---until late evening. But he was bored without Jongin, so he snuck into his boyfriend's class in the morning and watched Jongin from afar. He'd done this numerous times in the past, out of sheer interest to see what Jongin was up to in class, and also to stare at this y creature for three hours straight.

And that day was no different.

The lecture hall was huge, enough to fit three hundred students in one class. And because of this, some parts of the lecture hall were not brightly lit. Those were the areas where the dumb kids sat, because they didn't know what was going on in class most of the time and they didn't want to be the lecturer's target for questions. Kyungsoo learned to avoid areas like this. It was the Law of Opposed Expectation, or so Luhan claimed.

To do something that is the opposite of what you think will be the opposite of what you do. Yeah, he got lost after the first 'opposite' word.

Basically, by not sitting in a dark corner, he was, in a longshot, scooting away from the lecturer's likely target areas. He knew how the Mr. Jae Suk's mind worked. Heck, he'd been in Jongin's class more times than he could count, so naturally, seats were an important consideration when it came to stalking.

"You there with the brown cap." Mr Jae Suk's voice called out.

.

Kyungsoo couldn't hide anymore. He had managed to survive so many classes in the past, and today was probably the last day he could ever do this again. He blamed his alarm clock for not setting off on time. And because of that, he ended up coming in late, thus putting him in one of those dark corners he hated. Karma was being a real that day.

He tensed when all eyes turned to him. Why oh why weren't there any other guys in brown caps in the class? There had to be like...what? Two hundred students in that bloody lecture hall, and he was the only one with a brown cap?! this .

From the corner of his eye, he glanced at Jongin and found the younger boy staring back him, surprise masking that perfectly handsome face of his.

He recognized me. Damn it.

Any attempt of shrinking back into his seat was a definite no-no. It would have made everything too obvious. Now he had to answer some question he didn't study as a subject at all. Seriously ed.

"Can you please answer the question?" Mr Jae Suk asked again, tapping his shoe impatiently. Kyungsoo found this annoying. Because it served to put more pressure on him.

"Can you repeat it?" He had to buy some time.

"How do you get the net profit? I can't remember everyone's name in this class, but could I just call you Huge Eyes? Now, answer the question, boy." Mr Jae Suk said, gaining a few laughter from the crowd. They all stared back at Kyungsoo, and Jongin noticed how nervous the boy was. He should just step in and answer the question for his boyfriend, but he was still too surprised to see Kyungsoo there to actually do anything.

Think, Kyungie, think! You've been in this class for so long! Net profilt....if there's a net, there should be a gross. But what should you minus from your gross profit to get your net profit?

Ah, BINGO!

"To get your net profit, you need to subtract your gross profit with the total expenses you've incurred in the business."

"Very good." Mr Jae Suk smiled. And Jongin could only continue gaping at his boyfriend. How the hell did he know that? Oh wait, it was kind of easy. But Kyungsoo had never studied business before.

"Then tell, Huge Eyes-ssi, what sort of expenses are we talking about here?"

"The costs of materials, and also operating expenses such as salaries, rent, utilities, etcetra..." Kyungsoo answered. This chapter had been Mr Jae Suk's favourite, so Kyungsoo had heard enough of it to answer these questions.

"And what can you understand about the concept on net profit?"

"It's supposed to be the bottom line profit you earn at the end of the day, but I don't think it's a measure of how much cash a company earned during a given period. There are non-cash expenses to be considered such as depreciation and amortization. If your net profit is low or negative, then you know that something's not right, ranging from decreasing sales through poor customer experience, to ineffective expense management."

The alpha group were aghast. How the hell was he able to come up with that kind of answer? Were the beta boys THAT smart?

Mr Jae Suk seemed very satisfied with Kyungsoo's answer though. "Thank you, Mr Huge Eyes-ssi. It's funny how I never see you in class."

"I've been...blending in." Kyungsoo smirked, and the whole class tittered at this.

"Well, try to be more obvious next time then. Let's carry on with the next chapter, shall we?"

Jongin continued staring at his boyfriend. Now that he knew Kyungsoo was there, he couldn't help himself. It was a little frustrating that Kyungsoo was sitting all the way back while he sat in the front row seats. No matter. His class was ending soon, and he couldn't wait to pounce on his boyfriend once class ended.

There was no bell to end the lecture sessions. It was a university, after all. The lecturers had to end the classes themselves, and Mr Jae Suk was, thankfully, a very punctual person. The moment he announced the end of class, Jongin bolted out the door without glancing back at his boyfriend.

Kyungsoo was a little hurt honestly. A message beeped into his inbox, and he quickly whipped out his phone to check.

From: Jonginnielicious

To: Kyungie-poo

Time: 2.04pm

Meet me in our special garden. And bring lunch.

The elder couldn't help but laugh at this. How typical of Jongin. He grabbed his bag and made his way over to their special garden. It was a good thing he packed some lunch for Jongin this morning. At least he could save up for some new books.

Jongin was doing some assignments when Kyungsoo finally turned up. This was probably another surprising discovery Kyungsoo made on his boyfriend. For the last two years, a studious Jongin had never once crossed his mind. So this was where he worked his grades, Kyungsoo thought with a smile.

"Hey love." The younger boy greeted, just as soon as Kyungsoo stepped through those murderous rose bushes. He had managed to gain a couple of fresh new cuts on his arms and neck. And the beta boys would surely question him about this later.

"Hey Jongin. I packed some lunch for you this morning."

"Even better." Jongin exclaimed, hastily sitting up. "I was just marking some parts of my notes before you came here. So why were you in my class today?"

"I've always been in your class." Kyungsoo answered, taking out their packed lunch from his bag.

Jongin simply stared at hin, startled. "What do you mean? I thought you only took four subjects."

"Yeah, I took science, law, english literature and music. But I've been secretly attending your class too. Not that I actually study when I'm there. Mr. Jae Suk really likes that chapter I answered earlier, so it kinda got stuck in my head, you know. But most of the time, I was staring at you." Kyungsoo blushed, looking down at his food.

Jongin simply patted his boyfriend's head in return and locked their lips together. It was the usual gentle and sweet kiss they shared, nothing rough. After the younger boy pulled back, he rested his forehead on Kyungsoo's forehead, and their fingers intertwined. Kyungsoo always had butterflies fluttering around in his stomach when Jongin did this.

His free hand instinctively clutched his nervous stomach, and Jongin saw it. "Butterflies?" He whispered into his boyfriend's ear, only making those damn butterflies more excited, rather than calming him down.

Kyungsoo managed a small nod before Jongin pulled the older boy into his arms. They stayed this way for a while, with Kyungsoo sitting on his lap, while he craddled the older boy, brushing his fingers lightly against Kyungsoo's cheeks and marveling at the beauty that was blushing up a storm under his soft touches. Kyungsoo rested his head against Jongin's shoulder, fixing his gaze on one point. That day had been Jongin's bare ankle, strong and tanned under the afternoon sunlight.

His heart thumped with excitement when Jongin kissed his forehead. Over and over again, as if it wasn't enough to just do it once.

"Our lunch is going to be cold." Kyungsoo eventually muttered.

But Jongin didn't want to let go yet. He enjoyed moments like this, when no one was around to disturb him, and Kyungsoo was just the sweetest thing he'd ever laid his eyes on.

"Just a little longer. I don't get to do this much ever since the holidays ended."

"That was only yesterday, Jongin ah." Kyungsoo pointed out, eyes twinkling with laughter. "You can still see me after midnight anyway."

"Yeah, but we have to sneak around a lot. I don't get to stay in your room and cuddle you like this anymore. Honestly, I've been thinking a lot about our relationship lately. I know it's only been like...ten days since we became a couple, but I can't help worry that you might get tired of all those late night visits we do. You need your proper sleep, Kyungsoo ah. You can't just throw away your curfew because you need to spend some time with me. It's going to affect your health and studies, and I'm worried about that."

"But then we don't get to see each other much if I stick to the same routine I do everyday." Kyungsoo pouted, playing with his boyfriend's fingers.

"You will still see me anyway. I'm always here, somewhere in campus. It's only a matter of looking for me, and me looking for you. But we can't make our relationship obvious to the eyes around us. Only the ones we trust could know this. I don't want them judging you for the wrong reasons." Jongin said, kissing his boyfriend's forehead again.

Kyungsoo paused for a moment. He knew Jongin was only looking out for him, but to him, it wasn't about having people judge him for the wrong reasons. It was about being proud to have a boyfriend that he loves with all his heart, to show the world what it felt like to belong in the arms of the person you love the most. He wished Jongin could see that, instead of worrying about the negative side of life so much.

"I can understand where you're going with this...but you know what, I don't think I'll be bothered much if someone does find out. I don't care what other people think about us. They can gossip and stare all they want, but to me, I just want to show the world that you're mine and I would want you to do the same for me too. I want to be proud when I call you my boyfriend. Not hide away in a place like this. But I do enjoy our little moments here too."

Jongin's eyebrows furrowed at the remark. He didn't know that Kyungsoo felt so differently about this matter.

"I don't want people to think that they still have a chance to hit on you. It makes me jealous, Jongin ah. You wouldn't want the same thing to happen to me too, right?"

Jongin violently shook his head, but he said nothing to rebut Kyungsoo's words. The older boy was right, but the wary part of him didn't agree. If Kyungsoo was going to get hurt as a price for being proud, then Jongin preferred keeping their relationship safe. It was better safe than sorry. Kyungsoo waited for his boyfriend to say something.

"I...can't, love. You need to understand how insecure I am about this." Jongin murmured. "I do get what you said, but it's easier said than done. At the end of the day, someone might end up paying the price, and I can't bear to see you hurt."

"If I ended up getting hurt, then it's because I love you. You don't have to blame yourself."

Jongin shook his head, regardless. "No, I can't." He said more firmly this time. "Kyungsoo, we can't tell anyone. Please."

Kyungsoo didn't argue back after that. He didn't want to. It was tiring to fight with his boyfriend, and they had only begun their relationship. No, for this round, he had to bear with his boyfriend's wishes. Maybe someday, when Jongin was ready to reveal their relationship, he would. And Kyungsoo promised to be there, holding his hand, when that happened.

They finished off their lunch after that and parted ways. Kyungsoo had his science class, while Jongin rushed off for dance practice. They didn't see each other that night, because both were too tired to get out. For Kyungsoo, it was nice to get back into his usual routine; curfew at 10pm, alarm clock at 7am, breakfast, classes and music lessons afterwards, before calling it a day and preparing for the next.

Jongin came in between his routine nowadays. During toilet breaks and when Kyungsoo wasn't joining his friends for lunch, the doe-eyed boy would sneak off to see his boyfriend. And it was always in the same place, the secret garden behind campus. To say that Kyungsoo wasn't bored of this would be an understatement.

As days passed, and weeks eventually turned into a month, Kyungsoo wanted to do something more than just hanging around behind campus. Jongin still hadn't broken his two-months-no- promise with Kyungsoo, and that was good of course. But the boy seemed so deprived of something lately, and Kyungsoo could feel it.

It was in the way they touched, how Jongin's fingers always lingered longer than the days before. His gazes became more intense, and sometimes, Jongin would spontaneously breathe down Kyungsoo's neck, hot and trickly. It sent shivers down his spine, knowing what Jongin wanted but was unable to give in to him. He didn't know how much longer Jongin could last before lust overwhelms him.

"Jongin ah, what are you doing?" Kyungsoo asked one night, when they were lying on a mat in their secret garden again.

Jongin had somehow slipped a hand under Kyungsoo's sweater shirt and started trailing his fingers up his lover's body. "Nothing." He lied, bending his knees a little to hide the obvious showing under his pants.

Kyungsoo had felt that, of course. But he didn't say anything.

"You know you can't, right?" Kyungsoo muttered out, instantly breaking that little ball of hope inside Jongin. He groaned in return, nodding his head beside Kyungsoo's shoulder. "I'm sorry."

"No, I am. I didn't mean to do that." As soon as he said this, he retracted his hand and Kyungsoo immediately missed that heat he created. But he had to hang on until the two-months period end. It was for his own sake. And Jongin's too.

"Jongin ah...can I be honest with you about something?"

"What?" Jongin brushed away Kyungsoo's front bangs, before staring at those black orbs that were still gazing at the stars above them.

"I want to have with you too. Now, if possible."

Jongin stared, bewildered. "Then why did you stop me?"

"Because I don't break promises." Kyungsoo said. "It's proof of your trust in me, for making me promise in the first place. If I can't keep a simple promise like this, then I will never be able to keep a promise in the future. I want you to be able to trust me."

The moment Kyungsoo said that, tears came streaming down Jongin's face. Kyungsoo turned to his side and pulled his boyfriend into a hug. "Why are you crying, baby?"

"I broke my promise. I touched you." Jongin cried out, wiping his tears with Kyungsoo's sleeve.

"No...all you did was touch me. But we didn't have , right? So it's okay. You haven't broken your promise." Kyungsoo was amazed that the younger boy could so easily get upset over this. He had changed a lot.

Jongin sniffled against Kyungsoo's shirt and muttered softly, "O-ok, if you say so."

"I love you so much, Kim Jongin."

"I love you too, Kyungsoo."

Chapter 55: Gosh. I don't know! this fic gave me a lot of feelings. Since I'm on my half way I really really want to leave a comment in here and say how frustrating I felt when they were fighting and the fcking cheating happened.
That thing whenever I read fanfics always give me the hateful feeling. So I guess I understand how devastated Kyungsoo felt when he caught it with his eyes. That's super awful authornim. :(
And how fate must've hated them since he was there to witness Jongin's not soooo lucky moments with other girls. Man, I almost didn't finished this story when I reached that chapter.
And then they got back together. I don't know how Kyungsoo find himself forgiving Jongin after that. Maybe, just maybe he really love him that much.
And then you let him leave?! Waaahhh I almost hate you for giving them those heart shattering moment.

Whooosh. But then, after my long rant about your story. I bet that it's one of the most realistic stories I've ever read. I may not know how the feeling of being cheated is, nor witnessing with my own eyes. But still cheating is still a no-no for me.

And thank you for messing up with our feelings. Haha! Pun intended.
But really, thank you for writing this story. And btw, I love your other fic: Average Love Guru

Chapter 55: This is one emotional rollercoaster and it got me on so many levels because of the cheating thingy. :( A very touchy subject that is why I was well into this for reasons I can't understand. LOL

But I was a bit confused because when they were in England, it was mentioned that Soo took an English subject that is why he's good at it but when he came to US, he had a hard time? Hmmm.

For me, Kaisoo here was unnecessarily hurting each other and it's hella frustrating! ugh!
the thing is, you were able to get these emotions from us and it's good. :)

Well Hello there authornim .....

I'm really satisfied with this fic ...

I've waited for this to finish since last year and it was worth the wait.
I really liked how you transformed Jongin in this fic ... its somehow realistic .. I mean if you love someone ... you have to work hard for it ...

You didn't give like (Something happened) and they're together already ...
You've transformed your character in order to achieve what he is in the end of the story ...

However there are some things we readers are left hanging .. like the reaction of Jongin's parents to their relationship
also Kyungsoo's family :)

I HOPE YOU WOULD MAKE A SEQUEL OF THIS FIC !!

Is it weird that i've read your other fic (Average love guru) months before this one ? Cuz it seems that this one's made earlier than the othr fic :))

ANYWAYS ... THANK YOU FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL FIC :))) HOPE YOU WOULD MAKE MORE FICS :)))

Chapter 55: U know I really really hate kyungsoo here
Kyungsoo don't deserve Jongin in this story (real life is a whole different story they r made for each other )
He said he can't tolerate cheating okay jongin slept with 2 girls ( but that's an amazing feat given his previous lifestyle ) BUT HE DIDNT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING
and do ing kyungsoo got a friendly ( from my point of view ) a crush on some Korean raised in America dude AND THIS IS WORSE CUZ HE KNOWS WHAT HE WAS DOING AND DEVELOPING FEELINGS FOR SOMEONE ELSE IS WAY WORSE THAN SLPING WITH SOMEONE ELSE FORM MY POINT OF VIEW and he even forgotten to contact them and he said he got carried away means he wasn't affected by the two months separation from jongin like wtf? He even had an "affair" with another dude that a Nono jongin changed his entire lifestyle for him T_T
Oh and btw can I request a sequel for gaining the parents approval getting through the an arranged marriage ( with yoona? O_O u somehow hinted that)
