A SHARED DREAM - UKISS 

The joking continued until ____ suddenly stopped, feeling a sharp pain in her heart. 

She clutched her shirt, right where her heart was, shutting her eyes tight, biting her lip to prevent her from crying. ____ couldn't take it and soon fell to her knees. 

Kevin, shocked, ran by her side. "What's wrong?" 

"My heart.. it hurts.. Bad." She uttered, letting a single tear slip down her cheek. 

"Let's get you to bed." He said, helping her up. 

As she sat down, Kevin brought her a glass of ice water. "Thanks." She said. 

"Feel a little better?"

"I guess." She said, setting her glass down on the night stand. "So, I haven't got the chance to ask, but what happened? Why am I here?" 

"Well.. Long story short, the guys and I confronted you about the whole Joong situation then you fainted. We brought you here where the doctor diagnosed you with aortic valve regurgitation. It's a heart condition. His guess is you got it from not eating, stress, and lack of sleep." 

"So what now?" 

"Well, you need to eat healthy. Excercise but not on an empty stomach. No smoking which shouldn't be a problem, and that's about it." 

_____ took a while, trying to sink all of this in. "I can't believe it.." She whispered. 

"This wouldn't have happened if you would have taken better care of yourself." 

"I was doing perfectly fine, Kevin." 

"Says the girl who's in the hospital."

"Your point?" 

"My point is you need to take better care of yourself. Look at where you are. You should've came to me or at least one of the guys if you had trouble." 

"You're not my dad, I can take care of myself." She argued. 

"Obviously. Cause if I were to take care of you, you wouldn't be in the hospital." 

"Do you really wanna do this right now, Kevin Woo?" She glared. 

Kevin then backed down. "Of course not.." He said. ____ smiled in satisfaction. "Cause I know I'll win." He whispered. 

"What did you say?!" She screamed. 

"Nothing!" Kevin quickly said. 

____ laughed at the scared Kevin. They joked around some more but then soon got tired. 

____ yawned. "You should go to sleep." Kevin said. 

"I'm not tired." 

"Your droopy eyes says otherwise." 

"But what about you?" 

"I'll go to sleep in a little. You first." 

____ nodded. She laid down on the hospital bed while Kevin sat down on the couch, reading a magazine. 

____ began turning and tossing, throwing the blanket off of her then back on. She would be on her side for a moment, then a second later on her back, then on her stomach, and so forth. 

She let out a huge puff. "What's wrong?" Kevin asked. 

"I can't sleep." She said, pouting. 

"How about I sing you to sleep? Like I used to do in the past?" He suggested. 

____ smiled brightly. "That'd be great! Can you please?!" She asked. 

Kevin laughed as he walked towards her, sitting down on the chair. He was about to sing but she stopped him. "Lay with me." 

Kevin paused, not knowing if he heard her clearly. "Wait, what?" He asked. 

"Lay with me. You know I need something to hold when I sleep. Helps me fall asleep faster." 

"Hug your pillow." Kevin quickly said.

She pouted. "But he doesn't have arms!" Kevin kept rejecting it, knowing it'd just make his heart beat at the thought of them laying together. 

Kevin remembered back when they were dating when he used to sing to her to fall asleep. He'd have her wrapped up in his arms. She wouldn't let him be next to her, sitting far from her or anything. She needed him to hold her close, like it was their last moment together. 

Kevin suddenly remembered something she said in the past. 

FLASHBACK

Kevin and ____ were walking on the beach. ____ walked ahead of him, twirling around, admiring the beauty while the sun shines on her brightly. 

"Babe.. Why do you always need me to hold you in my arms when we sleep together? Or at least until you fall asleep?" Kevin asked. 

"Because, I like cherishing every moment. When I'm in your arms, the feeling is completely different then when we're just laying side by side. I feel protected.." 

"I can still protect you if I wasn't holding you." 

"I know, but the feeling of your arms not around me, it's different. The feeling when I'm in your arms, it's like nothing scares me..." She paused, slowing down her pace. She suddenly stopped walking making Kevin stop a few feet behind her. She then turned around, the sun shining brightly behind her. "Because I'm with you." 

END OF FLASHBACK

The memory brought a smile to Kevin's face. "Fine.. I'll lay with you." 

_____ smiled, scooting over, making room for him. Kevin laid down, beside her as she nuzzled up into his chest. 

"Do you have a specific song you'd like me to sing?" He asked. 

"Surprise me." 

Kevin smiled and soon began singing.
