ONE single fax. 

That's all it took to partially ruin my life and shed light on my clandestine hobby that I've kept from my father for five years now.

How was I supposed to know that he would return a day early from his trip? How was I supposed to know that he would drag me to the CEO's office the moment he picked me up from school? 

I had no choice but to sit silently and watch as he clearly dictates to Mr. Yang the reasons behind me not re-signing my contract with YG Entertainment:

1. I didn't ask his permission five years ago to sign on with the company.

2. I should be focusing on my studies at Seoul National University not producing unrefined music (his words, not mine). 

3. It's a total sin for me to be wasting my talents on individuals whose music won't go down in history.

"Mr. Choi, could you please reconsider? Mi Na has contributed greatly to this company since she was scouted and has helped to produce major hits which have won several awards," I look at my Dad, nodding my head in agreement with Mr. Yang. 

"My daughter, was chosen by her university on early admission and I've taught her myself. Both the university and I know how talented she is, so I don't need a reminder. Tell me Mr. CEO, do you even know what she's studying at school?" I close my eyes in disbelief at the tone he's using. 

"I know she plays the cello," Dad scoffs at his answer. 

"She is majoring in composition, with a minor in the Department of Instrumental Music. She is also a member of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, that which I am one of the main conductors. She has no place in your world, please do not look for my daughter again." 

With one last glare at Mr. Yang, my father gets off the chair and storms out of the office. I sigh miserably as the tension in the room quickly diffuses, I lean back in the chair and stare at the ceiling as my life seems to suddenly be getting out of control. 

"Can you convince your father?" I chuckle humorlessly at Mr. Yang's question. "His word is law. My producing days are over sunbaenim, I should have been more careful," I shake my head, "I should've have just told the truth."
