They soon arrived at Wu Manor. Kris stepped out first and took Areum’s hand to help her get out.

“THERE IS MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER IN LAW!” yelled a voice. Kris and Areum turned around to an overly happy Mrs. Wu tackled Areum into a hug.

Areum chuckled, “I miss you too omonim”

“Honey let her go. The poor girl doesn’t look like she can breathe.”

“oh I’m sorry sweetheart.” Mrs. Wu took Areum’s hands. “lets go inside and catch up. I told the maids to make all your favorite dishes for tonights dinner. You must be famished. Have you had lunch yet?”

“yes omonim I have. Don’t worry about me. And regarding dinner it seems like it will be just the 3 of use. Kris will actaully be out catching up with the boys and some old friends.” She smiled.

"That boy leaving you alone on your first day in Seoul?! Don't worry mommy will be here with you. You don't need my stupid son." 

“yeah well it was nice to see you too mom. Am I tired? Oh no not at all. It was nothing. And I ate lunch too thank you for asking. Dinner? It wasn't me who planned it. and STUPID?! I AM YOUR BLOOD! YOU GAVE BIRTH TO ME!” Kris answered his mom. 

“Hm, whatever you say son. Oh good, if you’re not tired then you can help your father bring the luggage in and into your room while me and my daughter in law catch up." 

Kris gaped at the woman who gave birth to him. Not even giving him a second glance as she pulled the love of his lfe into the house. Areum turned around and gave him a sorry smile.

“Dad are you seeing this? Did she even give birth to me? She totally ignored me! Are you sure she is my mom?”

“She is just happy Areum is back. You know she absolutly adores the girl. Now hurry with the bags Kris, if you don’t hurry up with the luggage and come inside your mom will unleash another world war for making her wait.”

“Aish. Aren’t you going to help?”

“No, that’s why I have butlers. Thats what you can do when you have money.” Mr. Wu winked at Kris and walked back in.

“My family is something else.” He said sarcastically. He turned to Taejoon and Wendy who was helping the butlers unload the luggage.

“You guys can go back to the company after this. I can handle the rest.”

“Yes sir.” Taejoon said. “We will see you tomorrow sir?”

“Yes 9 am sharp. I don’t like it when people are late. Remember that. Put a memo out for the whole company as well,” Kris replied with a stoic face and walked into the house.

“Wow he was all smiles when Miss Areum was here and once she’s gone the cold stone comes back out. She’s incredible huh? Its not easy to get on the Wu’s good side and them loving her that much, she must be something special. Come on Wends we need to get back to the company.”

Wendy just looked at Kris's retreating back. Everyone loves her. Even his mom and dad. What makes her so special? Wendy turned around and went back into the car. 

After getting settled into their rooms Kris was having tea and dessert with his parents and Areum in the living room. After a few minutes his dad’s secretary, Mr. Li came in and reminded his father of a prior engagement.  

“Kris, I have a few business partners that I would like you to meet. I told them we would meet them in a bit at their company and since you are here you should join too. Come with me. It will be a good chance to get to know our partners in Seoul.”

“But I told Areum that we could go sightseeing after tea,” Kris looked over at  Areum who gave him a gentle smile.

“Its ok Kris. Go with your father. I can go by myself. I did basically grow up here. I think I can take care of myself just fine. Work is more important.”

“Are you sure sweetheart?”

“Yes I'm sure. Don’t worry too much.”

“Ok then.” Kris sighed and him and his dad both stood up, his dad leaving first and heading towards the door.

“Be careful out there by yourself ok? Make sure that the gaurds are with you everywhere you go ok?”

“I’ll be fine Kris. If you don’t trust me then you should trust the Huang’s elite gaurds to take good care of me. Not that I need it. Its not like I’m the president or something.”

Kris cupped her face and gave her a chaste kiss on the lips. “No, you’re more important”.

“I cannot believe my son is so cheesy. I'm getting goosebumps. Areum is an adult. I am sure she will be fine alone for a few hours. You also have body gaurds with her. She's more safe than you. Just hurry and go. Your dad is already outside waiting and remember to come home for dinner.” Mrs. Wu spoke up and walked away getting ready to help start on dinner with the maids.

Areum laughed.“Stop worrying and go. Don’t make your business partners and your dad wait too long. Plus you’re embarrassing me in front of mom. “

Kris chuckled, “ok I’m going. I love you sweetheart.”

“I love you too Yifan.”  

Knock knock.
