After dinner with Taemin, Kai found himself on his bed after a cold shower thinking. Taemin hyung saw Areum watching the stars? Why would she go by herself somewhere so far? She could have at least taken Sehun. This doesn’t make sense. He was bothered about it the whole night not even paying attention to Krystal. He rolled around in his bed and his eyes made contact with the box in the corner of his room. Her diary….Kai stood up and went to it. He opened the box and located the diary which he brought back to his bed sitting on it and began to find it. She would write something about that night wouldn’t she? 5 years ago Krystal’s birthday. He flipped to the page. There’s an entry! 

Flashback

There was going to be shooting stars on Saturday and Areum couldn’t wait. She loved looking at stars and this is the first time she would be able to witness it and this time it’ll be more special because she would have someone she loves to share it with her. She also remembered that it was her best friend’s birthday that Saturday too. I should invite Jongin and the boys. Its Krystal’s birthday too. She smiled at the idea.

“Krystal!” she saw her best friend walking towards her locker.

“Hey Areum!” the said girl smiled and started to put her books into her locker.

“Your birthday is this Saturday. Are you excited?!”

Krystal smiled shyly, “yeah I am.”

“Let’s do something together! There’s going to be shooting stars this Saturday too. How about we celebrate with the boys in Gwangwando, I hear that’s the perfect place to watch it!”

Krystal bite her lip, “Actually, I already have plans with my family. They wanted to celebrate with me.”

“Oh…”Areum looked down at her fingers. “Its ok family first! We can always celebrate another day then?”

Krystal nodded and smiled at the girl, “Of course!”

I’ll ask only Jongin then. It can be our first date. She smiled at the idea.

When she asked Jongin he agreed and she couldn’t wait. When the day came Areum made her way to the train station patiently waiting for Jongin. She was excited for this day.

“Where is he?” she looked at her watch. “We’re going to miss the train.” She bit her lips. She then felt her phone vibrate.

Areum smiled and picked up. “Hey Jongin where are you? The train is about to arrive.”

He hesitantly answered, “Areum, I’m sorry. Something came up and I can’t make it.”

Her smiled turned into a frown, “Oh. What happened? Are you ok?”

“I’m fine its’ just I can’t go anymore. I’m sorry I’ll make it up to you another day but I got to go now. Bye!” and with that he ended the call. Areum looked down at her phone her mood drastically dropping. She then heard the train arrive, the doors opening right in front of her. She gripped on her phone. Since I’m already here I shouldn’t waste it. And she entered the train. The train ride was 3 hours long and she fell asleep. When she woke up it was already 6 PM. She got off the train and started making her ways to the mountains. She finally arrived in a nice spot near a park with a convenient store and sat down on one of the benches they provided. She looked at her phone’s clock. Almost time.  She bitterly smiled looking around seeing families, friends, and couples all gathered to watch the stars. She felt so alone. She looked down at her hands feeling sad. He wouldn’t be with Krystal right? No, she said she’s with family. Ever since her birthday when she found out about the two she kept quiet about it.
