It has been a week since Areum left the Wu’s manor and Kris had yet come see her. Areum was on her way to see Kai and finish up their plans for his parent’s anniversary. She wonders what Kris is doing. Is he overworking himself? Has he been eating? Has he been sleeping? Areum let out a sigh which didn’t get unnoticed by Kai.

“Whats wrong?”

“Nothing. Its nothing.”

“It must be something for you to keep sighing like that. Tell me. we’re friends aren’t we?”

Areum looked at him and decided to tell him what happened. Kai felt guilty when he heard her story. He didn’t mean to get in between her and Kris.

“I’m sorry. If you want, I can go talk to Kris about it.”

“No, no need. If he trusted me more than he wouldn’t have doubted me.  A relationship is based on trust. How are we going to survive a marriage if he has doubts in me?”

Kai smiled at her. “I hope everything goes well with you and Kris. I’ll always be here for youif you need me.”

“Thank you Jongin.”

The two finished their lunch and headed out. Kai opened the door for Areum. Just when they stepped out Kris pulled up in his car with Wendy. Kris met eyes with the two and a grim expression came on his face. Wendy smirked. She couldn’t have planned this any better. Kai felt the tension in the air and decided to break it.

“Hyung, how have you been?” he greeted.

“How am I supposed to feel when my fiancé is out enjoying herself with her ex lover who happens to also be one of my closest friends?”

Areum rolled her eyes, “Jongin lets go. It seems that some people need to grow up and stop being immature about things that happened in the past.”

“Jongin? So you’re calling him Jongin now.” Kris glared at the two. “What happened Kai? I thought you didn’t let anyone call you that except for your family and Krystal.”

Kai bit his lips. This is not how he wanted things to turn out. Yes, he knew he was having strong feelings for Areum but he knew his limits. He was not going to steal her away from Kris. that’s not the person he was, but how was he supposed to explain it in this situation. Hey Kris, I might be in love with your fiancé but don’t worry I won’t steal her from you? He didn’t know what to do. Just then a car pulled up and the window rolled down.

“Hey there stargazer, remember me?” 

“Taemin?” “Hyung?”

“Hey guys.” He leaned onto the window and smiled. “What’s up?”

“What are you doing here?” Kai asked.

Taemin shrugged his shoulders, “Got bored. Good thing I came out. I got to see my beautiful stargazer again.” He looked over at Areum and smiled. “Oh, hey Kris whats up? Who’s that girl? Is she your fiancé?”

Everyone’s eyes widened at the assumption. Wendy blushed, which didn’t get unnoticed by Kai.

“No. She isn’t.” Kris said and turned to Areum. “She is.”

“Areum how can you cheat on me?” Taemin placed a hand to his heart. Kris looked over alarmingly at Taemin and Areum rolled her eyes.  

“Stop playing around hyung.” Kai warned Taemin. Areum walked over to Taemin’s car and went inside surprising everyone, except for Taemin who had a wide grin on his face.

“Areum we’re not done talking!” Kris yelled out.

“There’s nothing to talk about. Until you stop acting like a brat and actually sit down and listen to what I have to say, then we have nothing to talk about.”

“Areum get out of the car right now!”

“You can’t order me around Kris Wu. I am not one of your employees or workers. Taemin let’s go.”

Taemn looked back and forth between the two and shrugged. “Whatever the lady says.” And drove off.

Kris watched the car drive off with anger in his eyes. While Kai shook his head. His cousin has to come at this time. He looked over at Kris.

“Hyung.” Kris looked over at him with a glare.

“I know you think there is something going on between me and Areum but there isn’t. I respect your relationship and I wouldn’t do something like that. Areum’s my friend and you are my brother.”

Kris walked up to Kai and looked him in the eye. “Can you look me in the eyes and say you have no feelings for her?”

Kai looked at Kris and gulped. “No.”

Kris snarled at him. "You call yourself my brother when you have been eyeing the girl I love all this time. What about Krystal? Your girlfriend remember?" 

“I admit I do have feelings for Areum but I respect your relationship. Krystal and my relationship is complicated. But Areum.... But if you hurt her hyung, then I will step in.” he looked over at Wen
