Kris was on his desk doing work. He has been drowning himself with work more than ever since he found out about Wendy being pregnant. He placed the document down and rubbed his face. How can I up so badly? He looked over at the picture of him and Areum on his desk. He still loved her he really did. That’s why he continued to send her flowers everyday. He didn’t care if she saw them or not. He didn’t care if she threw them away or gave it to someone else. He just wanted to show her that she was still in his heart. That no one can replace her in his heart and that he was still thinking about her every single day. He was a coward. He loves her but he couldn’t face her. He wanted a second change with Areum but now with Wendy being pregnant he didn’t know what to say to her if he saw her. She had probably saw the news already. How did she feel when she saw it? He wondered.

Knock Knock.

“Come in.” he sat up straighter in his chair. He looked up and saw Wendy walk in. His face and tone grew cold.

“What are you doing here?”

Wendy stopped in her tracks for a few seconds and then composed her face again with a smile as she walked closer to him.

“I just wanted to see you. you’ve been working all day. How about a break?” she asked gently.

“No thank you.” he replied and went back to the documents on the table.

“Kris.” he looked up at her with hard yes. “Don’t you dare call me by my first name. that’s reserved to the people I love.”

“You-“ she stopped and looked up to with him with sad eyes. “I know you might hate me now.” she said softly. “I know you hate me and you want nothing to do with me now. I know you’re only doing this to protect your company and because of the child I have in me. But…can’t you try? Can’t you try? We can be a happy family. If only you try-“

“That’s enough. Leave. When I’m still being nice.”

“Kris-“

“You know that I’m only doing this because of the baby. I don’t want my child to grow up fatherless that’s why I’m doing this. There is no love in this relationship. This is a business deal. Nothing more nothing less. So you should erase those fantasies in your head.”

Wendy was stunned. She felt tears in her eyes.

“You can leave now Miss Song.” Kris finished and looked down at his work again. Wendy clenched her fists together.

“Like it or not Kris we are going to be married. I hope you erase those feelings you have towards Areum.”

Kris looked up at Wendy with furious eyes.

“She’s not coming back. Not after all of this. Your relationship is over. I hope you remove her pictures on your desk as well. What will the employees say if they see it? I’m not going anywhere Kris. I love you and I will make you love me back.” with that she left walking out the door. Kris, furious, pushed his papers off his desk with an irritated growl.

Knock Knock.

“WHAT!?” Kris yelled as Jinhwan walked in scared.

“Uhm... Sir, uhm an invitation from Kim Corp just arrived.” He shakily handed it over to his boss and left quickly.

Kris looked down at the invitation and opened it.
