Himchan watched, helplessly, as Minsoo slammed Sang Hee against the wall again before squeezing her neck and dragging her over to another chair. Holding her down, he dragged her over to Himchan and set her down across from him.

Sang Hee stared at Himchan, her heart breaking at the desperate look in his eye.

"What a reunion, am I right?" Minsoo said as he carried a small table over to them and set it down between them.

Sang Hee managed to pull her eyes away from Himchan and looked up at the Minsoo, "I did everything you wanted me to, why are you doing this? He was never supposed to get hurt."

Himchan's throat closed up as he watched the way her jaw tense. The pain ringing through his body didn't even register when he saw the fierce look burning in her gaze. It was absolutely enchanting and despite everything, just seeing her was easing the pain.

"I never promised that he wasn't going to get hurt, as a matter a fact, I think I made it clear that I wanted him to get hurt. The only deal I made with you want that I wouldn't expose his past." Minsoo said in annoyance.

Himchan let out a muffled groan as he leaned his head back in despair, staring at the ceiling as he fought back the feeling of guilt that was growing in his stomach.

He was right, she did this all for him.

Sang Hee glanced at Himchan before glaring at Minsoo, "I still followed your rules."

"And Himchan still revealed his identity to your old Chief and didn't get punished for it, so I guess we all got disappointed." He spat back.

Her eyes grew wide as she snapped her head over to Himchan who was blinking at her tiredly, "R-Really?"

Himchan looked away before Minsoo slammed Sang Hee's gun down in between them. Sang Hee frowned as Minsoo walked around and untied Himchan's hands and harshly ripped the piece of tape off his mouth.

"But it's okay. We figured out another way around this." He said as he picked up another gun that he had stashed in his jacket.

Sang Hee gave Himchan a look when she heard him say 'we' but they both stayed silent.

"We're going to play a good old fashion game of Russian Roulette." He said with a laugh.

Both detectives stiffened as Minsoo lifted the gun and emptied out 8 bullets, leaving one in before spinning the chamber and snapping it shut. Himchan eyes followed the bullets as they fell to the ground, his frown deepening when he noticed that they were all the high impact ones and not the green ones that were blanks.

"This is stupid." Himchan muttered.

Sang Hee stared at the bullets on the ground for a long time before looking up at Minsoo who looked unbothered.

"Not really. One of you will die and I'll have the other person taking the fall for the kill and Chae Mi's death. It's a win-win for me." He said with a smile.

Minsoo turned to his left and ducked his head bashfully, "Thank you. I thought it up all by myself."

Sang Hee gave Himchan an incredulous look but Himchan just shook his head. "His friend is here."

Minsoo growled and pistol whipped Sang Hee across the back of her head, making her scream in pain as she slouched over. Himchan's whole body locked up as her screams echoed in his head long after she stopped.

"Don't speak about him." He spat disgustingly.

Sang Hee groaned, her vision swimming as she tried to fight off the dizziness. He set the gun down in the middle and stepped back while holding his own gun at the ready.

"Who's going to take the first shot?" He asked calmly as he watched them.

Sang Hee and Himchan looked up and stared at each other, both their faces were unreadable to the other person, but they both knew that they were living their worst nightmare.

"If you guys don't want to, I'll do it myself." He muttered before pointing his gun at Sang Hee.

Seeing the gun pointed at her, Himchan grabbed the gun, ignoring Sang Hee's burning gaze, and stared at it.

How many times had he used that exact gun to shoot people without blinking?

"Himchan." She said softly, her tone warning.

But he smiled as he looked up at her, "It's one out of 9, tiger. What are the chances?"

He held the gun up to his temple, keeping his eyes locked on hers and curled his fingers around the trigger before pressing down.

Click.

Minsoo laughed cheerfully as Himchan set the gun down, "Thank god, it wouldn't be any fun if you died on the first one."

Just as Sang Hee lifted the gun herself, Minsoo stepped closer to them, "How about we make this a bit more heartbreaking? Before you pull the trigger I want you to answer a question. Possibly the last thing you'll ever say."

"For 's sake." She muttered with a roll of her eyes.

Minsoo ignored her comment but Himchan could see how it provoked him when tightened his grip on the gun aimed at him.

His psychiatrist appeared next to him, to calm him, "Don't worry about her. Just do what you came here for."

Minsoo nodded and rolled his shoulders back, his previous rage fading.

"Before you pull the trigger, what was your biggest regret?" He asked, his voice filled with childlike curiosity that almost sounded mocking.

Sang Hee looked at Himchan and considered saying something bitter and hateful about Minsoo, but she figured that she might as well say what she wished she did before.

"That I didn't stop you from walking out on me that night." She said with a blank face before fearlessly pulling the trigger.

Click.

Himchan flinched at the sound, but Sang Hee didn't even bat an eye as she set the gun back down.

"2 down. 7more chances. Exciting isn't it?" Minsoo crooned.

Himchan's eye twitched, "Doing this won't bring Seon back and it won't make me apologize for killing her either. You don't win here."

"I don't care." Minsoo's voice darkened, "We want you to pay."

Sang Hee snorted to mask her laugh, "We? Oh, you mean you and your imaginary friend? Yeah, that's really scary."

"Don't." Himchan warned quietly, unnerved by her calm attitude.

Minsoo wasn't as forgiving as he struck her across the face, "Don't talk about him like that. You don't know. You don't know what he's done for me or how he's helped through the hell that he put me through."

"Hell?" She asked with a laugh as she spit out some blood fearlessly, "The only hell you went through was having a woman who used you, die. You should be thanking him."

Every hit and every bruise that was forming on her was making Himchan feel a level of helplessness and uselessness that he had never experienced before.

Minsoo hunched over, predatorily. "Used me?"

"You don't know? It's obvious that the only reason she was with you was because she wanted to use your connections to help her get away with her crimes. She never loved you." Sang Hee growled.

His body trembled in anger, "Shut up. Shut up!"

"And your little imaginary friend is the same. He doesn't care about you because he isn't real." She mocked.

Minsoo stormed over to the closet and pulled open the door, allowing his psychiatrist to step out from the spot he always went to when he wasn't with him, "Imaginary? Is this imaginary? He's right ing here."

"I'm always here for you, Minsoo." The man said formally.

But Himchan and Sang Hee could only watch, horrified, as a decaying body fell out of the closet and fell out in front of Minsoo.

"You killed him." Sang Hee whispered as she stared at the corpse of a man, "Who the hell did you kill?"

Minsoo screamed and kicked the wall, "Shut up! I didn't kill anyone. This is my psychiatrist. The man who's helped me deal with what Himchan did to Seon. He helped me cope. He helped me do all of this."

"Is this what you're going to do to Chae Mi?" She asked, revolted.

He twitched and pointed to the man standing beside, when in reality he was gesturing to the dead body, "I killed Chae Mi because I was done with her. I didn't kill my psychiatrist. He's standing right beside me laughing at how crazy you sound."

"Maybe he's laughing because you think he's still alive."

Minsoo roared and raised his gun, ready to fire, but Himchan lifted the gun on the table and held it up, "Wait! It's my turn, don't you want to watch it play out like this? Isn't this better than just shooting her?"

Minsoo was panting angrily as he stared at Sang Hee's emotionless face before he lowered his gun. "I hope to god you're the one who dies."

"Wow, finally we're on the same page." Sang Hee said with a smile but Himchan couldn't stand hearing her say that.

The masked man narrowed his eyes at her before turning to Himchan, "What was the biggest mistake you ever made?"

Himchan raised the gun to his head and  stared at Sang Hee whose face was getting tired out as her own confidence and resilience was wearing her down.

"Letting her fall in love with me." He said quietly before pulling the trigger.

Click.

Even he was starting to lose the fear every time he pulled the trigger, he was reaching a point where he wouldn't care if the bullet actually dislodged.

"Poetic." Minsoo deadpanned. "Of all the people you've killed and lives you stolen that's your biggest mistake? Rich."

Sang Hee lips fell to a straight line as Himchan handed the gun to her.

Minsoo circled the pair of them before deciding on the question for her. "Do you care, at all, that he was part of BAP?"

That answer was surprisingly easy for her.

"Yeah, I do. I care a lot." And then she pulled the trigger.

Click.

One would think that as the more empty shots they took, the more tension and nervousness would fill them, it was much the opposite.

"I'm sorry." Himchan said quietly as he looked at the ground.

Minsoo tapped his lip with the gun, "If you care, why did you go through all this trouble for him?"

"This isn't couple's therapy and it's not my turn." She muttered while staring blankly at the table.

Because although she cared a lot about his past, his present and future were more important to her. It was clear that he had left that life behind him and that him and the other members were trying to live honestly.

That was enough for her.

"Fine." Minsoo said as he turned to Himchan, "4 down, 5 more chances."

Himchan clenched his jaw as he lifted the gun and held it up, "Just ask the damn question."

"If you could go back and live your life without BAP, would you?" Minsoo seemed interested for the first time in his answer.

Himchan froze at the question and looked across at Sang Hee who was avoiding his eye line, "No. They…they're my family. My only family."

Click.

Minsoo fell silent, as if in thought before nodding at Sang Hee who took the gun from him and stared at the detective who refused to meet her eyes.

She wasn't mad.

She didn't think she could be.

He never had a family, he took what he could get and grew attached to them. They moulded him in

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
