When Sang Hee came into work the next day, the first thing she noticed was the bouquet of daisies sitting on his desk.

Himchan and her started work later than normal that day since it was her first day back on the job, so the pair of them rolled in around noon.

She blinked at the crystal vase and looked over at Himchan who was taking a seat at his desk. "Did you get me more flowers?"

Himchan snorted as he booted up his computer, "I would never spend more money on you that necessary. You're lucky I even bought you flowers at all."

Sang Hee shot him a dirty look before she lifted the small white card that was wedged between the flowers. There was no name on the tiny envelope so she flipped it open and slid out the small square cardstock.

To: Sang Hee

Cowards die a thousand deaths. The valiant taste of death but once -Shakespeare

From:

Sang Hee blinked at the message before frowning. She leaned over her desk and typed the quote into her computer and looked at the results.

Julius Caesar

"What the hell?" She mumbled under her breath.

Himchan glanced up at her, "What?"

"Huh? Oh, nothing." She mumbled, "Um, I'll be back, I need to go do something."

Himchan frowned but before he could snap at her for leaving, she already brushed passed him and flew out of the officer doors with the card and envelope in hand.

He looked back over to the flowers before standing up and walking to her desk. He stared at the daises that looked identical to the ones he gave her. His eyes flickered to her computer screen and felt his eyes grow wide.

A Shakespearean quote.

His eyes widened as panic shot up his veins. He quickly grabbed the vase and pulled out the flowers, his eyes frantically scanning each petal. Nothing really looked out of place but just as he was going to put the flowers back in its vase, he noticed something stuck to one of the stems.

It was a small  piece of paper, almost the size of a piece of confetti and turned it over. He held it up to his face and saw half of a word.

B.A

"." He whispered before tossing the flowers aside and grabbing the vase. He looked inside and saw other pieces of paper just like it.

He jogged out of the precinct and walked around to the back where the CCTV cameras didn't cover and crouched down on the pavement.

He dumped the contents of the vase out, his eyes flickering over the small pile of papers. He shifted through them and started to piece a few together until he got the first line.

B.A.P's lethal assassin, Kim Himchan

"No." He whispered, "No, . . . ."

Himchan didn't bother piecing the rest together and just pulled a lighter out of his jacket pocket. He glanced around before flicking the lighter open and setting the scraps of paper on fire.

He stood up and stared at the ignited pile as the scraps of paper turning into a black chard.

This wasn't a coincidence.

This was the third Shakespearean message and it wasn't a misunderstanding; they were definitely all related to him and his past.

Himchan waited a few more seconds before putting out the flames with his shoe. He stepped back and watched the breeze scatter the ashes into the wind and frowned.

He didn't like this at all.

Who was still around that knew about him, his new career and his past?

Yongguk got jumped out, people in his past were supposed to respect that and leave him alone.

But this person didn't just want simple revenge, or else they would've sent someone else to try to kill him again.

This person wanted to ruin his life and career.

They wanted to expose him.

He picked up the vase and walked back into the precinct. He shoved Sang Hee's daisies back into the vase and jogged up the stairs to the security room.

"Hey guys." Himchan said tensely as he walked into the room.

He was rewarded with a few responsive grunts from around the room. He walked up to one of the guys and leaned close to the wall of TV screens mounted to the wall.

"I need you to go through the footage from this morning for me."

The man pushed his glasses up and peered up at Himchan in confusion, "What's this about?"

"I need to see if there was anyone suspicious loitering around, especially anyone carrying a vase of flo--"

"Flowers? Yeah, we caught someone entering and exiting, this morning." He said while typing speedily, pulling up the feed from earlier that day.

Himchan watched the footage and frowned. The person who delivered the flowers wasn't someone he recognized, it was a random teenager with headphones snug over his ears and he was wearing a vest that had the name of a florist imprinted on it.

"He was an actual delivery boy. The guards near the door checked his ID before letting him in and he wasn't inside the precinct for more than 10 minutes. Apparently he walked in, asked a secretary where Detective's Bae desk was, dropped the flowers out and left." The man said.

Himchan chewed on his lip and watched the time stamp as it counted up exactly 11 minutes, "." He muttered under his breath.

The person who sent the flowers must've gotten them delivered.

"Is everything okay?"

He nodded distractedly and patted him on the back. "It's fine, thanks, I'll see you around."

Himchan left the security office and jogged down the stairs, heading for the direction that he saw Sang Hee leave out of earlier, but Dong Chul popped out of nowhere holding a large plastic box.

"Dude, there you are! I've been looking for you everywhere!" He exclaimed.

Himchan bounced on his heels, "Yeah, I'm actually kind of bus--"

"Nonononono, you can't be busy. There's too much to do!" He said while hoping up and down.

Himchan made a face, "What are you talking about?"

"We just got the street cam footage from the last day Jin Ah was seen at Jae Li's hostel. That's hours of footage that we need to weed through and we can't do it all ourselves." Chin Hwae said as he walked up from behind Himchan.

He handed Himchan a container of disks and nodded, "We're splitting this up between 10 officers. We need to see if Jin Ah's car and plate can be tracked. That way we might be able to follow her last moments alive."

"B-Bu--"

"No buts. We're the primaries on this case. We can't find Sang Hee, so we need to get all hands on deck." Dong Chul said as Chin Hwae dragged Himchan back to his desk.

"You're in for a long night, buddy."

-----

Sang Hee knocked on the door to the Medical Examiner's office and waited until a soft, come in, echoed through the door.

She slowly cracked the door open before stepping in. Chae Min was currently standing over a corpse, in the middle of what looked like an autopsy.

"Hey…um, you busy, right now?"

Chae Mi looked at her before looking back at the body in front of her, "Not really, what's up?"

"I need you to analyze this." Sang Hee lifted up the small envelope that she held with the sleeve of her shirt and dropped it on the silver tray. "I'm the only one who touched this, so any other finger prints or clues would be useful."

Chae Mi raised her bloodied hands up and leaned close to the tiny envelope, "What is it?"

"Someone sent it to me but I don't know who it is, I wanted to see if you could get any clues from it." Sang Hee explained.

Chae Mi nodded, "Sure, I can get one of my techies to work on it, but it'll take a while, we're sort of back logged at the moment."

"That's fine, anything you can do will help." Sang Hee said while sitting down on a stool.

Chae Mi watched her with a raised brow as she turned back to her corpse, "Something on your mind?"

"What's Himchan's problem, really?" Sang Hee complained.

Chae Mi chuckled. "That's still on your mind?"

"You should've seen him last night after you all left. He started acting all tough and intimidating, but I'm at my wit's end because I didn't even ing do anything to him. I figured he'd soften up after I took a knife to the side, for him, but he's still the same old, stubborn, rude jerk. He won't cut me a break." She ranted without hesitating.

Chae Mi snorted, "From all the time I've worked with that guy, there's one thing I know, He doesn't open up for just anyone. Even Dong Chul and Chin Hwae had to wear him down for months before he started being nice to them."

"Seriously?" Sang Hee asked in surprise. The three of them were like brothers, she assumed they clicked from day 1.

Chae Mi nodded, "From what I could tell, it's because Dong Chul was never offended by Himchan's blunt rejections and Chin Hwae never showed emotion. They were so persistent that he gave in. They literally wore him down and now they're like best friends or something."

"So what are you saying?" Sang Hee asked with a frown.

Chae Mi shrugged, "Don't give up, I guess. He's not going to be easy to work with for sure, but if you're persistent, he'll eventually back down, especially if you show him up. He likes keeping skilled people as allies and not enemies."

She stopped working and turned to Sang Hee with a weird look on her face, "Have you ever noticed how weirdly guarded the guy is? I know I used to have a thing for him, but it always turned me off how secretive he seemed. You'd think he was moonlighting with the CIA. I don't want to bang a guy who never shares anything personal."

"Oh my god! Yes! I know exactly what you're talking about." Sang Hee exclaimed. "Well…except the banging part, I guess."

She nodded in glee, "I'm glad I'm not the only one, but look, he might be a jerk, but he's not disrespectful and he's not demeaning. Based on last night, it's obvious that you impressed him, just keep at it and he'll learn to trust you more."

"Ugh, why are you so mature?" Sang Hee muttered while slouching forward.

Chae Mi flipped her bright hair ponytail over her shoulder, "Oh, honey, I know I am."

Sang Hee chuckled as the woman turned back to the body on the slab, "Hey, I'm sorry for talking to you about him, he kinda left a bitter taste in your mouth, right?"

"Meh, it's not as big of a deal as people make it. I'm pretty liberal with my dating and life. If I'm attracted to some

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
