Ever since Sang Hee told him she loved him, Himchan was walking on eggshells around her.

He was glad that she didn't know he overheard her because it made it so much easier for him to pretend like it didn't happen. Especially since she never made an attempt to tell him how she felt again.

It was sort of ridiculous.

Most guys would be thrilled that their girlfriend said that she loved them but here he was, pretending that it didn't happen.

Himchan groaned and leaned his head back while tapping his pen against his desk. He wondered how many other s had this problem?

There were kids in impoverished countries who were living off of charities like Yongguk's and Himchan was whining because the girl he was in love with said that she loved him first.

He was truly pathetic.

"Hey, can you look over this for me?"

Himchan sat up and saw Sang Hee standing by his desk with a file in her hands.

"Sure." He said while taking it from her. "Why are you wearing your coat? Are you going somewhere?"

She raised her brow definitely, "Just look it over."

Himchan narrowed his eyes at her playfully before scanning her report. Halfway through reading it, he realized that Sang Hee never used to asked him to read over her reports before. She was such a perfectionist that her reports were usually flawless, she didn't need anyone to give them a second look.

"Wait, why am I rea--" His words died in his throat when he looked up to see Sang Hee started to slowly her jacket, her eyes locked with a mischievous look in them.

His eyes widened and his lips parting at the sight as his pen tumbled out of his hands. A slow smirk grew on Sang Hee's lips as she pulled the rest of her zipper down.

Himchan bit on his lip until her jacket was totally open and his eyes finally trailed his eyes down to see what she was hiding; an expensive navy blue tie with a note with the words, 'have me' pinned on it.

He swallowed deeply as his eyes re-traced the two simple words and had to drag his mind away from the filthy double meaning.

God, with that glint in her eye he just wanted to 'have her' right there.

Sang Hee's sparkling eyes dimmed in confusion when she saw lust start to cloud his vision. She frowned and looked down at the tie before realizing how he interpreted it.

She scowled and kicked his leg before meeting his eyes.

"Have the tie, you ." She mouthed with narrowed eyes.

Himchan smirked and leaned back on his chair, drinking the sight of her in. She glowered at him before undoing the tie and throwing it at his face and storming away. She heard him chuckle in the distance and a minute later her phone buzzed .

To: Tiger

Thanks tiger, I love it, but next time, just put the sticky on your forehead, it'll save us all a lot more time.

-----

Chin Hwae stared at Himchan, inspecting the dumbstruck grin on the man's face as he set his phone down and picked up a tie that was sitting on his desk.

"You've been acting different lately."

Himchan looked up and raised his brow at his friend, "What do you mean?"

Dong Chul rolled his chair over and looked between the two men, "What are we talking about?"

"Himchan. He's been acting differently." Chin Hwae said while pointing at the man.

Dong Chul tapped his lip, "Yeah, I've noticed it too, you and Sang Hee have been fighting more."

"I don't think that's it." Himchan said with a knowing snort.

Chin Hwae squinted his eyes, "No, he's right. You two have be arguing more but you don't seem as angry as you used to be whenever you two bicker."

"You guys spend more time psychoanalyzing me than you do your suspects, seriously." Himchan mumbled.

Dong Chul jutted his lip out, "You love it."

Himchan rolled his eyes and shook his head, "You guys are crazy."

"You and Sang Hee are really getting along well, aren't you? It's nice to see." Chin Hwae said blankly.

Himchan shrugged and quickly averted his eyes, "I guess."

"And you're sure that nothing is weird?" Dong Chul asked suspiciously.

He nodded, "Yup."

"Well…who were you texting just now?" Chin Hwae asked.

"No one." Himchan said without missing a beat.

Dong Chul tilted his head, "For a detective you're really bad at lying."

"If you weren't texting anyone, then let us look through your phone." Chin Hwae said while reaching for the device.

Himchan snatched it away before he could take it and shoved it in his pocket, "I don't let you guys drive my car, what makes you think I'll let you snoop through my phone?"

"Fine, then what did you say to Sang Hee that got her all riled up?" Dong Chul inquired.

Himchan shrugged, "I don't know, something condescending probably. Everything I say to her gets her riled up. Enough with the interrogation for the love of god."

"All I'm saying is that it's nice to see you glowing."

"Who's glowing?" Chae Mi asked as she strode over with a file.

Dong Chul squeezed Himchan's cheeks, "Himchan. Isn't he just shining? He's like a pregnant woman."

Chae Mi inspected his face before shaking her head, "I don't see it."

"Thank you!" Himchan exclaimed, "And thank you for comparing me to a pregnant woman."

The boys rolled their eyes and moved back to their desks.  Himchan looked up and nodded at Chae Mi, "What’s up?"

"I did that search on Lee Seon and I got no hits on her name." Chae Mi said while handing him a file. "She has no priors, no record. I don't have clearance to look up her government records, so I got some other detectives to look into it."

Himchan raised his brows, "And?"

"Nothing. Lee Seon doesn't exist." Chae Mi said simply.

Himchan sighed and rubbed his face, "I'm not surprised."

"What is this even for? I didn't know you were on a case." Chae Mi asked while resting her hands on her hips.

Himchan cleared his throat, "It's nothing. Just doing some background research for a personal thing. I don't know how you do it, dissecting those dead bodies every day."

"It's scary, but not because of what I do. It's scary because when you work every day with corpses, you stop humanizing them. I've become desensitized. I just think, this is part of my job. This is life. Soon it doesn't matter if the body on my slab is a father of 3 kids or not, it's life." Chae Mi said tiredly.

Himchan shook his head, stunned, "That's messed up."

"I guess you just start to learn that human lives are like flowers. They're beautiful and they bring so much beauty and joy into the world but eventually they start to get older, fade, shrivel and die. Nothing precious, nothing pure and nothing good ever lasts." She said with a shrug.

Himchan shot her a look, "How uplifting."

"Actually, I think it is. Beautiful things never last which is why it leaves a bigger impact on our lives. The wonderful things are fleeting and that's what makes them so valuable. It's short lived and we should appreciate what we have, when we have it. Who knows how long it'll last?" She said while taking the file back from him.

Himchan ignored the twist in his stomach when he thought about his relationship with Sang Hee.

Nothing beautiful ever lasts.

Sang Hee was one of the most beautiful things to touch his grim life.

"Have you always been this deep?" Himchan asked with a laugh, trying to brush off his unease.

She grinned with a shrug, "You'd be surprised."

"Well, thanks Chae Mi."

"I'm impressed." She said with a snort, "Before Sang Hee started working here, you didn't even know my name."

Himchan blinked at her before giving her a sheepish look, "Sorry about that."

"Don't worry about it." She said with a laugh. "Oh…and nice tie."

-----

Sang Hee was walking through the precinct later that day, her eyes pinned on a case file from one of Woon's old cases when he worked in the OC.

She turned down the hallway to the more deserted parts of the building where no one other than janitors hung around when a pair of hands grabbed her waist and spun her around.

Sang Hee bit down her shriek and punched Himchan in the shoulder when she saw him, "You seriously need to stop popping out of nowhere, scaring me half to death."

"But seeing you freak out is the best, though." Himchan crooned.

Sang Hee let out a breathy laugh before she tilted her head and eyed Himchan up and down. She bit down on her lip and reached out and curled the end of his new tie around her finger.

"You're looking sharper than usual."

Himchan laughed and leaned forward, bumping their heads together. "And you're looking beautiful…as always."

"There used to be a time when you said you hated me." She deadpanned.

He scoffed, "And yet you still blush when I tell you that you're beautiful, tiger."

"Every girl does." She pointed out while tugging on his tie.

Himchan quirked up, "You're not every girl, though."

"No, I'm not. I'm yours." She whispered while looking up at him.

His eyes softened, his heart screaming as if it was set on fire as he leaned towards her and rested his mouth by her ear.

"I actually got you something too, tiger." He mumbled shyl

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
