"Keys."

Himchan blinked at Sang Hee as they stood in front of his car after he got discharged from the hospital.

"Excuse me?" He balked.

She wiggled her fingers with a blank look on her face, "Your keys. Hand them over."

"Why would I do that?" He said with a confused laugh.

Sang Hee didn’t look amused, "You can barely walk after you got the new stitches, there's no way that you're driving. Youngjae told me not to let you."

"Youngjae did?" He said with narrowed eyes.

She nodded expectantly, "That's the name of your doctor."

"I know, he's a friend of mine and you're already teaming up with him, wonderful." He said, unamused.

"That's why he gave me his card, telling me to call him if I wanted to hear embarrassing stories about you." She said in realization.

Himchan shot her a glare, "I'm not letting anyone drive my car. I'm fine."

Sang Hee stared at him before slapping him in the stomach. Himchan groaned in pain, doubling over as he bent forward, holding his side.

"You're fine?" She asked sweetly.

He glared at her with a huff before he tried straightening up, "Doesn't matter, I can still drive."

"Hmmm." Sang Hee hummed while leaning towards him. "You're so stubborn."

He grinned and shifted closer to her, "You like it, don't you?"

"Yeah I do." She said with a smile.

Himchan chuckled and pressed his lips against her,  sighing at the soft warmth as Sang Hee's hands slid down his chest until they slipped into his--

"Got them, let's go."

Himchan pulled away and blinked, still in a haze, as Sang Hee spun around and walked to the driver's side door before holding her hand up to show off the shiny set of keys dangling off her finger.

-----

When the two of them entered the apartment, a strange feeling settled over the two of them as they took their shoes off in silence.

It was the first time they were sharing an apartment as a couple and suddenly neither of them knew how to act around each other.

The few kisses, lingering touches and soft words they exchanged at the hospital felt out of place at the apartment.

"This…is weird, right?" Sang Hee said as she turned to Himchan who was leaning against the kitchen counter, watching her.

He quirked his brow as if silently asking her what she meant.

"We have been living together for months and we even had way before we...you know."

He snorted in disbelief, "You can openly say that we had but you can't say that we're dating? Amazing."

"Anyways," She said shooting him a dirty look, "Do we really need to do all of this?"

He walked up to her and crossed his arms, "All of what?"

"The whole, shy awkward relationship stuff where we act all bashful and honeymoon-ey around each other?" She muttered.

He tilted his head to catch her eye, "Why? Do you just want to bang and fight all the time? Because that can be arranged, we're just going to need a lot of time off work."

"Shut up." She said as she shoved him away.

He snickered and pulled her close to him by the arm before wrapping his hands around her waist to hold her, "We don't need to do all this. We don't need to be awkward and shy. I know you and you know me. Let's just go with that."

She blinked at him before pushing herself on her toes and pressing her lips against his. She quickly pulled away before clearing .

"Yeah, I think I can handle that." She said haughtily before flipping her hair and walking out of his embrace like it was no big deal.

His mouth was open in a stunned smile, he forgot how thick skinned and audacious she could be and though he would never admit it to her, it only made him fall for her more.

"I'm going to shower." She called out as she came out of her bedroom with a towel slung over her shoulder.

"Hey?"

She turned and looked at him as he shoved his hands in his pockets.  "After you shower…come to my room. Let's sleep together tonight."

The towel slipped through Sang Hee's fingers as her eyes grew wide and fell open. Himchan smirked and sauntered towards his room but not before kissing her gently on the cheek.

"Unless you can't handle that." He whispered in her ear before slipping into his room.

-----

Himchan wasn't someone who got emotionally affected by small things.

He wasn't like Eun Ah who would tear up at anything that touched her heart, he kept things to himself and every now and then, when something big happened, he'd let himself get carried away.

That doesn't happen often, though.

But when he stepped out of his closet, dressed for bed and found Sang Hee under his covers with her long wet hair falling over an oversized shirt, he didn't think it was possible for his heart to beat that fast.

When she saw him she cleared and laced her fingers to place them firmly on her lap. A lazy smile spread across his lips as he slowly walked over to her while keeping his eyes locked on hers.

"I've never seen anything more perfect." He muttered while flicking off the lights and sliding into bed next to her.

Sang Hee blinked in the darkness and turned to look at him, "What are you talking about?"

"You look perfect in my bed, next to me, tiger. That's what I'm talking about."  He mumbled as he slowly pulled her against his side, letting her rest her head against his neck.

She paused for a moment before getting comfortable against him. It was strange having him touch and hold her so freely because until today, they were always overly cautious around each other.

But she didn't have to hold back anymore and honestly it felt like a weight was taken off her shoulders.

He was all hers.

She curled up against him, her arms looping around his chest, "Do you ever surprise yourself when you hear how cheesy you are?"

"Yeah and then I remember that I'm dating you and then I know who to blame."He deadpanned.

A small smile quirked up her lips as she played with the collar of his shirt, "Dating."

"Dating." He repeated while taking a breath.

Sang Hee squeezed him tightly, "It's so weird…but I like it."

Himchan gulped before slowly dragging his fingers up her arm and cupped her cheek.  He tilted her face up to meet his eyes before he leaned down.

"God, I like you," He mumbled before pulling her down and pressing their lips together in a soft kiss. Sang Hee hummed against his mouth, letting him make her breathless until he finally pulled away.

She was never going to get tired of hearing him say romantic things after spending so long only hearing snarky remarks.

But her mind was still heavy.

"So…what happens at work?" She said with a frown, "I don't think we can exactly parade around the precinct showing off the fact that we're dating."

Himchan let out a grunt while wrapping his arm around her waist and gently brushed his lips across her forehead, "I guess we can't tell them. I'm…I'm sorry about that."

"It's not your fault. It's policy, we just have to…work around it." She offered as she yawned.

"What about the guys?" He groaned, "We can't hide anything from the--"

Himchan glanced down and softened when he saw her the fabric of his shirt, asleep against his chest.

If the rest of his life was filled with little moments like these, it wouldn't matter what stood in his way or what separated him from Sang Hee.

He'd find a way to get to her.

-----

"You seem a lot better." Chin Hwae pointed out when he caught Sang Hee humming quietly to herself at her desk while she threw out some old forms.

Her eyes darted up to his before they flickered to Himchan's desk, which was empty, "I'm just glad everything worked out and everyone's fine."

"Yeah, thank god, but I'm still mad at Himchan for not telling us that he got stabbed." Dong Chul huffed.

"How long are you going to hold that against me?" Himchan called out as he walked towards the group with files in his hands.

Dong Chul pouted as Chin Hwae patted him on the shoulder in consolation, "Probably until you learn to be more considerate to us."

"Yeah Himchan." Sang Hee called out teasingly, "Learn to be more considerate."

Himchan looked up at her and shot her a sly wink that the others didn't catch but managed to make her flush red.

How could something as small as a wink get her heart fluttering that fast?

"I'll be back." Himchan called out half heartedly as he grabbed a new stack of files and strode away.

Sang Hee followed him with his eyes until Dong Chul blocked her sight, "Why are we doing spring cleaning if it's not even spring?"

"Because Woon knows that if we don't clean at least twice a year, we might die in our own filth." Chin Hwae muttered.

Sang Hee chuckled as she tossed out some empty coffee cups. "Good thing I haven't been working here long enough to create my own filth."

"So help meeee!" Dong Chul whined cutely.

Sang Hee grinned and rolled her chair over to his desk and started to help him sift through his things, oblivious to the blush on his face every time she asked him if he wanted to keep something or throw it out.

"Detective Bae?"

She looked up to see another officer looking at her, "Yeah?"

"Detective Kim is looking for you."

She blinked at him, her insides spinning, "Me?"

"Mhmm, he's in the file room, he said something about needing to talk to you about some discrepancies in your reports." The detective said before walking away.

Sang Hee jutted her lip out, "I never mess up my reports."

"Big day for you, then?"  Chin Hwae chirped, earning a joking glare from her as she walked into the file room.

She slowly stepped in the door, closing it behind her as she looked around the dimly lit room, "Himchan?"

It was a half a second blur.

One second she was looking around, wondering why the room was still and silent and the next she found herself pinned against a shelf while Himchan's body heat melting against her skin.

"More considerate, huh?" He whispered, 3 octaves lower. "I thought I was plenty considerate when I woke you up this morning with my mout--"

"You really made liberal use of the whole 'we don't need to be awkward and shy' talk we had last night." She muttered with a roll of her eyes but her veins trembled at the memory of waking up with Himchan's dark eyes staring at her from between her thighs.

Himchan bit down on his bottom, his eyes playfully tracing the contours of her face, "Do you have plans for dinner today?"

"I don't know, do you?" She hummed while tilting her head with a smile.

He rested his hands on either side of her head and leaned close to her, "I was thinking of taking you out. There's a restaurant that I really think you'd like."

"In that case, I think I can squeeze you in between helping Dong Chul clean the fridge in the break room and refilling Chin Hwae's cold case files." She said before tilting her head back to kiss him.

He pulled away from her and cupped her face, "I'm never going to get bored of kissing you."

"Oh my god!" She exclaimed as her eyes lit up, "I almost forgot to tell you. I saw Namjoon when you were in the hospital." Sang Hee said while running her palms down his arms.

Himchan raised a brow as his hands slipped down and around her waist, "And?"

"He gave me a file that my old Chief gave his Chief about Woon. Apparently ever since we worked with DSU, I guess my Chief and Hong thought that there would be something sketchy going on with the DSU. I wouldn't be surprised if the SVU Chief got a file too." She said excitedly.

Himchan's face was unreadable as he let his arms drop from her waist, "What was in the file?"

"Well I got it in the hospital and I was so worried about you and you had just woken up that I didn't really get a chance to look through it. I just skimmed through it. I thought we'd look at it together." She said while bouncing on her feet.

Her smile faded when she saw his tense face, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." He said quickly giving her an easy smile. "We can look through it at dinner."

"Then why aren't you more happy? This is great news! Now I can see how shady Woon is being." She said while shaking his arm.

He nodded vigorously while the back of her head, "I am excited. This is good. I'm so happy for you."

"Yeah?" Her voice softened and Himchan felt his heart flip when he heard the vulnerability in her tone.

This was a part of her life that she didn't just share with anyone and he was lucky enough to not only have her confide in him but also want him there for every moment along the way.

He knew that BAP wasn't involved with her parents, there was no way, so as long as he was careful, nothing bad could happen.

"We're going to find out what happened to your parents. I promise." He said confidently.

-----

"So…where is this restaurant?" Sang Hee asked as she stared out the window after work.

Himchan's eyes flickered to the file on her lap, "Stop being so impatient, tiger. We're here."

"Ooh." She mused as he pulled in front of a nice restaurant.

Himchan parked the car and draped his arm around the back of her seat, "You know, tec

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
