Sang Hee cleared as Himchan and the other boys stared at her in silence.

"Well?" She said, testy, "What are you waiting for?"

Himchan let out a breath, "We need to wait for Woon, he has something to tell you before  you hear my decision."

Sang Hee nodded, trying to keep her lunch down, as she fiddled with her thumbs. She knew this day was coming and she thought she was mentally prepared for it.

But the fact that Himchan made up his mind a day early, freaked her out.

It meant that there was something that she had done or said that made him make his decision on the spot. And that was frightening.

She had to admit that the 565 was starting to feel like her home.

Aside from Chin Hwae and Dong Chul, there were other officers around the precinct that knew her and treated her like one of their own.

People recognized her as more than the newbie and she didn't want to leave that.

"What did you--why are you guys in my office?" Woon said with a tired sigh as he stepped inside.

Sang Hee's back straightened as her heart dropped.

"I've made my decision." Himchan said blankly.

Woon froze before slowly taking off his coat, "A day early?"

"And we made a deal, so I'm letting you go first." He countered.

Sang Hee furrowed her brows as she looked around at the others, "What deal? What are you talking about?"

"Alright." Woon said with a sigh as he walked over to his desk, "I was hoping that I'd have a little bit more of a warning before I had to do this but…Himchan never made things easy for me to start with."

"What's going on?" She asked warily.

He laced his fingers together and set them on the table, "You've been a very. very vital member of this team in the short month that you've been here for."

Sang Hee's face tensed and her eyes narrowed, a reaction that caught Himchan's attention right away.

"However, it seems like we're not the only unit that has noticed your skill."

Sang Hee watched his cautiously, "What do you mean?"

"Do you remember you undercover work with the DSU?" He asked seriously.

She nodded while her eyes darted around to gauge the reaction of the others but their faces revealed nothing.

"Well, they want to offer you a position as a senior detective in their unit." He said bluntly.

Sang Hee's eyes widened, "W-What?"

"Seeing you in action made them realize what an asset you are and now they want to try to bring you over to their unit and work with them. This would mean a raise, a higher position and a higher chance for you to move up in your career, faster. But it would also mean leaving the 565."

Something in her changed. Her eye twitched and her fists curled in her lap, "Is this your doing? Are you trying to get rid of me? Do you really want me out of your way that badly."

Woon looked taken aback by her sudden harshness, "No, of course not. I'm simply relaying the message to you."

"Really?" She asked with a dry laugh, "Because you're really working hard trying to sell me on this."

Dong Chul looked bewildered, "Sang Hee, we don't want you to lea--"

Himchan held his hand out, stopping Dong Chul from finishing, "We're giving you options. It's up to you, we'll accept your decision, but you're playing Risk, right now."

"Excuse me?" She asked, arching a brow.

He shrugged and crossed his arms, "If you take the position at DSU, then you're good to go. But if you turn down DSU and stay here, I might still want to toss you out and then you'll be sent back to OC."

Chin Hwae frowned, "Himch--"

"So I'd suggest you weigh your chances and make sure you're willing to play those odds. Woon's right, DSU could take you further in your career than VC ever will."

A shot him a dry smile, "So you want me to take the offer?"

"I want you to do what you won't regret later." He fired back.

Sang Hee scoffed before facing Woon, her eyes burning in anger, "Who gave me the offer?"

"Rap Monster."

A trigger is something, a word, a place, a sight, a smell, anything, that can ignite someone.

It could bring back memories, experiences, thoughts and feelings that a person forgot or chose to forget.

That's why certain things are trigger warned.

That way people know ahead of time that there might be something that will bring back unpleasant memories.

Rap Monster was her trigger.

"Who?" Her voice was quiet but low as she slowly turned to stare Chin Hwae down.

Chin Hwae blinked at her, confused by her tone, "Rap Mo--oh, Namjoon. He's the one that spoke to Woon about moving you. He was impressed by your work at the club."

"Who's Rap Monster?" She asked again, raising her voice.

Dong Chul blinked at her before snapping her fingers, "Right, sorry, in college Namjoon's nick name was Rap Monster because he liked rapping."

She was right.

She knew he looked familiar and now she knew why.

Who would've thought that one hazy encounter would be so important?

"So you guys went to the same college." She said, mainly confirming it to herself.

Chin Hwae frowned before nodding, "Yeah we all did except for Himchan. But that's not the point, Namjoon made you this offer...what are you going to do?"

Sang Hee bolted up from the chair and turned to the door, "Excuse me."

Woon watched the whole thing silently but his eyes were laced with confusion at her sudden, abrupt actions. She looked like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over her head.

Himchan stood straight and took a step towards her, "What are yo--"

"I have to do something." She said hastily before running out of the office, grabbing her things off her desk and racing out of the precinct.

-----

Sang Hee stormed up a driveway before slamming her fist against the door repeatedly until she heard footsteps coming down the hallways.

The door swung open and couldn't hold back the gasp that escaped her lips.

Namjoon raised his eyebrows in surprise when he saw her and leaned against the door frame.

"Your hair." She said, wide eyed, while pointing at him.

He chuckled and ran his fingers through his newly darkened locks, "I realized that the silver made me look a lot more different. People couldn't really recognize me…especially from my college days."

"I knew you seemed familiar." She muttered.

He blinked at her before a small smile worked up his lips, "Mind telling me the reason behind the surprise visit?"

"I went to your precinct and they said it was your day off. Apparently flashing my badge could even get me your social security number." She deadpanned.

He watched her, amused, "And the reason you were looking for me?"

"How come you never told me that we knew each other?" She asked as her brows knit together.

"You never asked, so I figured you didn't care."

She scoffed, "So you figured that dying your hair back might help me jog my memory the next that I saw you?"

"I'm surprised you didn't recognize me at the bar, even more surprised than I was at the fact that you were Himchan's hot partner." He said with a smile.

Her eye twitched, "Well in my defence, I knew you as Rap Monster, the kid who kept listening to hip hop during lectures."

"Dong Chul and Chin Hwae were dozing off too, how come you never noticed or recognized them, either?"

"Neither of them had a stupid nickname and neither of them got scolded in class. But hey, now that I know that we went to the same university, I'll have friends to go to our reunion in 15 years, with, but that's not why I'm here." She said dryly.

His smile fell as he tilted his head, "Then why are you here, detective?"

"I want to know why you're trying to move me to DSU." She said icily.

"The same reason why you won't leave Violent Crimes." He fired back.

Her mocking smile fell, "Excuse me?"

"When I saw you at the bar, it was like being thrown back to college. The first and only time we ever spoke to each other was at a bar…wasn't it? Do you remember? I doubt it since you were plastered."

Her jaw tensed. "I told you everything when I was drunk?

"Everything."

-----

"Cheers!"

Sang Hee didn't bother joining in and just tilted her glass up to her lips, downing the tall drink in one smooth shot.

"Woaaahh, shouldn't you slowdown there, that's like your 3rd glass." One of her peers said, trying to pull the glass from her.

Sang Hee frowned and yanked her arm away before setting the glass down and lifted another before downing that as well.

Her classmates looked at each other une

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
