Chapter 14
Armed and Dangerous"."
Himchan whipped his shirt over his head before slamming Sang Hee down on his bed and crawling on top of her. Sang Hee moaned with a light laugh when his teeth scrapped down the side of her neck.
"Shirt. Off. Now." He growled while on the side of her neck.
Sang Hee chuckled and bit down on her bottom lip as her fingers danced up his shoulders, "Maybe if you give me a second to breathe, I could do that, baby."
Himchan groaned but pushed himself off of her to let her slip her t-shirt off of her body. His eyes darkened when she caught his gaze and took her time inching her shirt up off her body.
Feeling impatient, Himchan rolled his hips against hers, making her gasp loudly as her eyes rolled back. Her legs slowly fell open, allowing him to drop his weight so their bodies pressed against each other.
He bent his neck down so that his lips brushed her ear, "If you're trying to tease me, go right ahead, I have other ways to entertain myself, tiger."
Sang Hee moaned at his gravelly voice before hastily puling her shirt off and throwing it to the side, exposing her bra clad body. Himchan couldn't even get a chance to appreciate the sight in front of him before she was pulling him down and slamming her lips against his.
She brought her legs up and wrapped them around his hips and brought him down close to her before slipping her tongue into his mouth making him groan in frustration. He pulled away slowly while dragging her bottom lip back with his teeth.
He pressed his forehead against hers and panted into her swollen mouth. Sang Hee bit down her smile with a devilish look in her eyes.
"Baby?" She breathed out.
Himchan shook his head and glared at her, "I swear to god, if we don't fuc--"
CRASH!
Himchan sat up in bed with a jolt, gasping for air with a thick layer of sweat coating his body. He pressed his palm against his forehead and just stared dumbly around his room.
"What the ?" He breath out as he rubbed his face.
He just had a very ual dream about Sang Hee.
His partner.
His housemate.
"Holy hell." He dropped his head in his hands and felt a shiver down his back.
What the just happened?
He never, never thought about Sang Hee that way. Sure, there was that one time at the club, but that was just that one time.
Other than that, he never looked at her with anything other than professionalism. Even if he was annoyed, there was always professionalism when it all boiled down.
So what the hell happened?
Last night, after Sang Hee went to town on the Janggu, nothing weird happened. She thanked him, he grunted in reply and they went their separate ways for the night.
So what in the world brought this up so randomly?
Himchan kicked his covers off his feet and stood up from his bed and pushed his hair back before standing up and grabbing a shirt off his desk chair. His eyes were still wide and his whole body felt wired.
It was almost like he could still feel her on him.
He needed something cold to drink.
Preferably a cold shower, but a glass of water would have to do.
He flung his door open and stormed out but froze when he heard the sound of paper shuffling. He slowly turned to see Sang Hee sitting by the coffee table with a small lamp .
"Sorry, did I wake you? I dropped my phone." She said sheepishly when she spotted him by his room.
"What…what are you doing up?" He asked nervously, his voice cracking a little.
Sang Hee held up a file, "Just reviewing the crime scene photos and following up on Chae Mi's coroner report."
"O-Oh…alright." He said, his voice raising up an octave, while keeping his eyes on the floor.
Sang Hee looked up at him, "What's your problem?"
"You." He grumbled while pouring himself a glass of water.
Sang Hee leaned against the couch and gestured to him, "Where's the snarky comment about working late or an annoyed grunt about how I woke you up?"
"I'm just…I'm just tired, okay? I don't have energy to point out your flaws every time I'm awake, tiger." He snapped.
Sang Hee raised her brows with a smile, "Seriously, something is going on with you."
"How's the case going?" He said awkwardly while sitting on the arm rest of the couch, as far from him as he could.
Sang Hee looked at the notepad in front of her, "Well I--"
Sang Hee did a double take when she looked up at Himchan.
"Are you--are you kidding me?" She scoffed.
Himchan looked around in confusion, "What?"
"Do you really hate me that much that you're not going to sit beside me?" She said with a disbelieving laugh.
His eyes flickered to the empty couch space before he snorted, "I'm not staying up any later than I have to. Just because you want to work on the case outside of officer hours, doesn't mean I have to, tiger."
"So why are you even asking about the case?" She inquired while lacing her fingers together.
Himchan shrugged casually, "I need to wait 30 minutes before sleeping. I just drank water."
"That's for swimming, not sleeping, idiot." She snorted.
"I throw up when I drink water and lay on my back right away." He said defensively while avoiding eye contact.
"Oh my god are you 8?" She heckled.
"Are you going to tell me about the case or not?" He deadpanned.
Sang Hee made a face before she flipped open the file, "I said it before and I'll say it again, there's no way a 19 year old kid could afford gender transition surgery. I bet you can't even afford it."
"You'd be surprised with what I could afford." Himchan said under his breath.
Sang Hee blinked at him, "What?"
"Nothing." He said quickly.
Sang Hee looked at him weirdly, "Ohh kaayy, so basically I'm thinking that Jin Ah got the money from someone who didn't want to wait to get paid back. She's a nineteen year old unemployed kid with no ties with her family. She wasn't paying that back soon."
"But killing her won't get their money back." He pointed out.
Sang Hee shrugged, "It was just a theory and honestly, when you're angry sometimes you don't think about anything other than getting revenge. Money is a motive for murder."
"Things aren't as black and white when hate crimes can be put on the table." He countered.
Sang Hee pouted while tying her hair up, "Well we should at least consider it."
Himchan's face flared up and he was quick to turn away when he saw her long smooth neck revealed as her hair went up.
The same neck that he marked over and ov--
"Okay, so I'm going to go back to bed. Goodnight." Himchan said quickly while standing up and walking away.
Sang Hee blinked in surprise and followed him with her eyes, "You sure? I mean, this is really interesting stuff."
"Yup. I'm sure. Super tired. Alright. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye."
Sang Hee's eyes widened when he slammed his bedroom door shut.
"What's his problem?"
-----
"What is this place, again?" Sang Hee asked as her and Himchan walked into an abandoned construction site.
"The boys went through all reports from 6 months ago and found one where someone fitting Jin Ah's description was seen walking around this site." He said while stepping over fallen scaffolding.
She rolled her eyes at him. Every time Sang Hee tried to talk to Himchan he'd always look away before mumbling some reply. If her elbow touched him, he'd leap 50 feet before giving her some snappish reply.
It was weird.
It was the like regular, rude Himchan was still there but there was something jumpy about him. Like he took a ton of drugs.
Sang Hee trailed behind him with her eyes pinned o
