"She hasn't moved at all since we got here."

Dong Chul, Himchan and Chin Hwae stood behind a wall and quietly watched Sang Hee from around the corner.

They had taken Mr. Park to the hospital as soon as they broke down the door. His wife was already dead and even with medical attention, they all knew that there was no hope for him either.

Soon after he was admitted the doctors told them that he had lost too much blood and that there was nothing they could do to help him.

He was gone.

Which left them with a little backlash for sending in a newbie, but most of it was treated as something that was out of their control.

But that didn't change Sang Hee's mind.

The minute she found out that he died, along with his wife, she had just shut down. She didn't speak or look at anyone, all she did was stare vacantly in front of her.

It was her first solo role and it ended in the worst scenario.

"Should we…should we try and talk to her?" Dong Chul whispered hopelessly as they watched the back of her head.

She had taken a seat in the waiting room and an hour and a half later, she had yet to budge.

"Maybe we shou--"

"Oh my god." Chin Hwae deadpanned while pointing in her direction, "Is she crying?"

Everyone snapped their heads in her direction and gaped when they watched her hang her head before her shoulders started to shake.

Himchan couldn't look away as he watched her comb her hair behind her ear before wiping at her face.

"Oh god, what should we do? She's crying, we can't let her cry! Oh my god, my heart is breaking. We need to do something." Dong Chul whisper-yelled.

Chin Hwae stared at her back before stepping back, "We should go."

"What! Why? We can't just leave her here when she's crying what kind of friends would we be!" Dong Chul exclaimed softly.

A crease appeared between Himchan's brows as he watched her. Sitting surrounded by dozens of empty chairs, she looked painfully lonely and small.

Chin Hwae sighed, "People like Sang Hee don't like other people seeing her weak. She's worried that if we see her crying, that we'll treat her differently, it'll just make her feel worse. We should just leave and the next time we see her, just act like nothing bad happened."

"I don't know…" Dong Chul said while casting worried glances in her direction.

Chin Hwae nudged him, "Let's just give her space."

"I guess you're right." Dong Chul said reluctantly, "Come on, Himchan, let's go buy her something good to eat."

Himchan nodded absentmindedly while keeping his eyes pinned on her, "Yeah, actually, you guys go ahead. There's something I need to do."

"Wha--"

"We'll see you later then." Chin Hwae said quickly, grabbing Himchan's keys from his pockets before dragging a bewildered Dong Chul away. Himchan glanced back at his friends before he turned back to Sang Hee.

He chewed on the inside of his cheek, contemplating his choices, Chin Hwae had a point. If he was Sang Hee, he wouldn't want anyone bothering him either.

But he remembered the look on her face when he found her standing in the middle of the Park's living room, two bodies on the ground around her.

Her eyes were vacant, soulless, she had blood splatter on her cheek and her hands were trembling.

Someone that shaken up probably shouldn’t be left alone with their thoughts.

He shoved his hands in his pockets before stepping out from around the corner and walked straight towards.

His footsteps faltered slightly when he heard her sniffle. His eyes widened and constricted when he heard her make the same small sound again. He was never good at consoling people while they cried.

He pressed his lips together before walking towards her again. When his foot bumped into a chair he saw the way her shoulders tensed and her fingers moved quickly to brush away the tears.

Sang Hee bit down on her lip, hard, as she fisted her hands in his lap hoping that no one could tell that she was crying. She saw Himchan's feet next to hers and squeezed her eyes shut willing him to leave her alone.

She did not want to hear him point out everything she did wrong and how he didn't need to wait for the week to end to kick her out and how he made a mistake believing she could handle the situation on her own.

She just wanted to forget what happened in the last two hours.

Her heart sank when he sat down beside her nonetheless, but when he didn't speak, she slowly lifted her head to look at him.

Himchan was staring straight ahead, his eyes masked by his bangs and his jaw tensed. She gulped before looking away, it felt like she couldn't breathe, like her lungs were seizing up, not allowing her to take air inside. She felt like a kid getting in trouble with the principal.

The silence was deafening.

"Have you ever killed someone?" She asked, finally breaking the silence.

Himchan stiffened at the sound of her raspy, cracked voice before resisting the urge to laugh.

Has he ever killed anyone?

What that a joke?

Himchan couldn't remember a time when he didn't kill.

He was B.A.P's lethal weapon.

Whether it was hand to hand or armed with a weapon, killing someone in cold blood was something that he could do in his sleep.

After his first kill, he spent every moment working out and training, the same way athletes do, until he was unstoppable.

Back when the group was together Yongguk would joke about how he thought Himchan was born to kill. That, that was his calling in life.

At the time he laughed it off but the more he thought about it, the more depressing it was.

He wanted his purpose to be more than just killing.

He leaned back in his seat and let out a breath before thinking over his words very carefully.

"When I was on the force? Yeah. I have."

She chewed on her lip while twisted the hem of her shirt around her fingers, "Wh-what was it like?"

Himchan in his cheeks before rewinding his memory to the first time he had ever fired his weapon as an officer.

The first time he fired his weapon as an officer of the law and not an underground thug.

Because Yongguk disbanded them, he hadn't fired a gun for years until that moment.

If he was going to tell her the truth, that would mean admitting that the first time he killed someone, he was nineteen and snapped a guy's neck.

"Chin Hwae told me that Chae Mi told you that I didn't really get along with the guys when I first got here, right?" He asked softly.

Sang Hee nodded while she brought her legs up and hugged them to her chest.

He sighed, "Well, she was right. Before I was officially partnered up with Minsoo, I was stuck with the two of them and I couldn't stand them. Dong Chul was hyper. All the time. I could ignore him, snap at him, curse him out or even punch him and he'd still have that dumb ing smile on his face."

He dropped his eyes as his shoulders fell, "Chin Hwae was cheerful, funny, quick witted, bright and easy going. He smiled a lot, too. Even when I rejected every attempt to be friends or work together."

Sang Hee watched his face carefully as she felt her own tears build up. His voice sounded so sad and depressed, something she had never seen before.

He sounded like he lost all hope in life.

It was like he just didn't care.

"Woon sent us all out to interview a suspect, normally he'd only send two people but he wanted us to get along so he made us all go. The interview was pretty open and close, we knew that we had the right person. She had all but confessed and she knew that she was screwed."

Sang Hee watched the way his eyes darkened, "We were walking back to the car when I heard the door behind us open and someone run out. I turned first and saw her raise a gun.  I screamed Chin Hwae's name but before he could do anything she shot him in the head."

Sang Hee's eyes widened as she saw the darkness brew behind his eyes. She noticed his fists were curled in his pockets.

"Dong Chul tried to pull him out of the way and that's actually the reason why he's even still alive. Because of Dong Chul, the bullet hit the side of his brain and with serious emergency care, they were able to save him. If he didn't, it would've gone straight through the center of his forehead. That's why he can't show emotions properly. The bullet grazed the left side of his brain and the surgery resulted in his nerves being thinner than most."  He breathed out while looking up.

Sang Hee let out a stuttered breath as Himchan tilted his head up and closed his eyes. She scanned his profile, the sharp, intimidating features now dusted with a layer of fatigue.

He shrugged, "That was the first time I killed someone on the force. Even I surprised myself at the speed I pulled my gun out and fired. I was just angry. Furious. I thought he was dead and I thought she was the one that killed him and I wanted her to pay. I shot her six times before Dong Chul stopped me. I was so ing pissed."

"Is that how you got close to them?" She muttered.

He nodded, "I realized that the reason I got so worked up was

Hi Loviet, I'm your biggest fans of your writing, I've read AnD first before the Home series, I love it so much that I've give it a go for Home, and ofc I still impressed of your stories. Few days ago I've comeback to Aff and start rereading all my fav stories, and surely again you will hear from me that you are so talented and thank God you are still writing! AnD left a big of impression to me because unlike Eunah and Yongguk, Himchan have it hard from the beginning, the character development of him trying to accept his past and start to be good for himself is beautiful. This is the man who rather see everyone around him happy but himself, the man who cares about other but neglect himself, the one who is so strong but choose to hurt himself more, thank you for giving chances to him. I could say AnD is the second best after RoD <3 thank you for writing, stay safe!
