“You taunted her.” Yuri remarked upon sensing Yoona’s return from the back of the cavern.

“I just wanted her to know what it means to be weak. And besides, I wanted to see if she can handle her own. Apparently, the youngest has gotten quite strong. I was surprised that she could use fire now.” Yoona said as she stepped inside the cavern.

“And with that in mind, you should be more cautious.” Yuri said as she moved to check on Yoona, hands roaming to see if the younger vampire had any injury during her time spent outside the safety of their cavern. Yoona merely shrugged as she allowed her partner to inspect her body. Satisfied with her findings, Yuri straightened up and led the younger vampire deeper into the cavern where a warm crackling bonfire greeted them.

Yoona shrugged off her cloak, left only in her tunic as she sat down beside Yuri on the fur carpet laid not too far from the fire. Like a pup needing affection, Yoona nestled against Yuri’s neck, inhaling the unique scent of her blood partner as she reveled in the tranquility of their sanctuary.

Unnerved by the act of affection, Yuri wrapped an arm around the younger vampire, “How do you think we will proceed with our plan?”

“I honestly do not know, Yuri. We are only doing this to save ourselves from our inflictions. My wolf’s blood and your darkness, we needed to overcome them.”

“I know. We need a cure.” Yuri muttered under her breath. “Whose blood do you think has it?”

Yoona opened her eyes and a mischievous twinkle in her red orbs told Yuri that she was not going to like the answer. “I have caught almost everyone’s scents during my encounter with our family.”
