“The queen said she would not risk revealing the identities of prominent vampire figures in the country…We all know what she meant…She does not want our flourishing business to end up in the trash just because people are afraid of us being vampires…” Jessica explained. 

“Oh…And I bet it would hurt her reputation and business too…So that’s why she chose human vampire hunters over us…” Sunny mused when she finally caught up to the queen’s way of thinking. 

Taeyeon just listened to the whole conversation, but she was secretly communicating with her twin through their thoughts. Jessica slowly sat on her lap as she continued talking to her cousins who seemed to have gotten used to the public display of affection that the twins were showing. 

“You got that right, Sunny. For now, the hunters have come to terms with us as conveyed by the queen herself, but I do not trust those humans who have learned to kill those lowlifes. Given what Krystal and Juhyun had reported, we have to be more cautious with our actions from now on.” Jessica said before Taeyeon s her hands over her waist. 

“So, how do we solve this problem that our fathers have sent us here for?” Tiffany asked remembering their real reason for staying in a foreign country. 

“For now, let’s just sit back and watch the progress that the hunters were making. Intervening with them would only ruin our image with the mortals, so I suggest that we just stay here at the mansion and attend to sharpening our skills…” Jessica mused. 

‘Am I right, Taeyeonnie?’ she said in her thoughts.

‘Oh…Don’t worry…I’ll give you my reward tonight…And you sure passed my challenge with flying colors…’ Jessica mused before someone speaking up broke their conversation of the mind. 

“Unnie, you mean we prepare for the war, right?” Krystal asked as she eyed her older sisters fondle each other. 

Jessica simply nodded. “Soojung, Juhyun…” now, it was Taeyeon’s turn to speak as she addressed the youngest girls. “I do not want you to wander outside anymore. If you want to practice archery, your Sunny-unnie and Tiffany-unnie should accompany you. I want you two to be with your unnies all the time whenever you go out. You should know that we made this decision for you, maknaes…” 

“Aigoo…But haven’t the maknaes already grown-up? They can watch out for themselves…” Sunny joked earning a glare from the twins. 

“We just want to make sure everyone’s unharmed…” Jessica mused earning the approval of the girls while the maknaes just agreed knowing that the twins will be watching them.
