When the Glass Breaks
A Twisted Tale of Bloodlines IIYuri.
Taeyeon watched as Sooyoung and Hyoyeon tried to pacify the adamant Kwon as Soojung bled herself for the unmoving Yoona. Miyoung and Soonkyu tended to a weak Juhyun, who had just awakened from her passive state.
The sun-kissed vampire felt a tug at her chest. Sooyeon, her beloved twin residing within her, was urging her to step forth and help out.
Then her feet unconsciously moved. She found herself moving towards her youngest sister, kneeling before Yoona’s pallid form. Index finger touched the cold forehead, feeling Yoona’s meek life force swirling within her body. Taeyeon sighed. It was still the same. Yoona was still stuck in the chasm that separated the living from the dead.
She looked towards the Black Pearl, who was now sitting on the snow, flanked by Hyoyeon and Sooyoung; her lifeless eyes blaming the eldest twin. Taeyeon sadly looked away. Sooyeon, within her, comforted her, holding her heart close, keeping it from breaking.
Taeyeon watched as Soojung did as her sister had told her. The eldest watched as blood trickled from the maknae’s wrist slipped into Yoona’s slightly opened mouth. It was then that she found herself in need of blood.
‘Right now?’ She heard Sooyeon say in her thoughts.
‘Yes, love. I need you. N.O.W.’
The winds blew in chaotic formations. Everyone’s eyes landed on the wind wielding vampire. Yuri glared at them in response.
“It’s not me.” The Kwon protested.
“Sooyeon.” Taeyeon answered for them.
Everyone blinked as a shadow appeared in the midst of the small maelstrom that disturbed the fallen ice. Soojung, despite her vulnerable state looked up to meet another set of sapphire eyes staring right back at her. Juhyun gasped, hands trembling as she gripped onto Miyoung and Soonkyu in an attempt to grasp reality in the form of her cousins. But the tactile response was real. What she was seeing was real.
Jung Sooyeon. Princess Jung. In the flesh. Before them all.
Sooyeon, clad in an ebon robe, approached her twin sister. The anger that was burning within the Black Pearl tripled. And the twins felt it.
‘Sooyeon, you shouldn’t have.’ Taeyeon’s eyes told her.
The younger one smiled apologetically. ‘I’d rather have us face this together than to have you overwhelmed by Yuri’s fury. And you’re still in need of nourishment, Taengoo.’
A bloodcurdling cry disturbed their mental conversation.
Yuri.
“It’s your fault!” The wind-wielder growled, eyes ablaze with anger and hopelessness.
Hyoyeon and Sooyoung tried keeping her down, but the strength fueled by the Kwon’s anger overpowered them, brushing them off like clothing. The winds picked up their pace, howling ominously as Yuri stood up, emblazoned and blinded by fury.
Yuri’s eyes darkened as her affinity took hold of her. The winds, once under her command, took her to the air, possessing her soul.
“She’s dead. Gone. Because of you.” Yuri screamed as she allowed her emotions to take hold. The fragile glass that held her together, had burst into a thousand pieces, shattering before them.
Sooyoung moved like lightning, quick on her feet as she tried containing her cousin in a barrier of energy which she had summoned. The Hwang immediately created a barrier to shield the weary Juhyun from Yuri’s sharp gusts.
Soojung found herself and Yoona encased in a thick wall of ice as her elder sisters took a protective stance before her. Her arm felt numb. She can see her own life trickle down and fall into Yoona’s mouth as her eyes continued to watch every drop of the claret fluid coming from her wrist.
“Soojung, stay strong. You’re almost there.” The maknae heard Taeyeon say. The maknae managed to smile, albeit weakly, in response to the quick encouragem
