Blood and Water
A Twisted Tale of Bloodlines IIThe last member of the Im family felt it.
It throbbed.
And with each beat, she found her body succumbing.
Her vision suddenly blurred.
‘No. This cannot happen now.’ Yoona thought as she tried searching for a means of escape – escape from the crowded hall where her cousin’s coronation was to take place. Her crimson eyes found a closed set of double doors nearby. She took dainty steps towards it as she struggled with herself, excusing herself through the crowd.
“Unnie!” A familiar voice called. A groan escaped her lips. It came out as a low growl, one which made her alarmed.
Yoona turned to see Juhyun with a worried face, the younger vampire’s eyes studying her now trembling form.
“You, all right?” Juhyun asked, hand circling around Yoona’s delicate arm.
The older vampire shook her head in hopes of alleviating the nausea as well as in reply to the maknae’s query. “No. Help me, Juhyun,” came out as a whisper.
“Let’s get you somewhere…” Juhyun spoke as she began leading the older vampire into a secluded room, the one which Yoona had intended in hiding herself in the first place.
Once the girls were through the door, Yoona threw herself on the fainting chair, arm over her face as she struggled with the darkness residing within her. Juhyun momentarily turned to close and lock the door before she settled herself on the plush chair nearby.
The room had blocked out the noise from the hall, much to Yoona’s relief. Juhyun only stared at the older vampire’s exhausted form in silence.
But the throbbing of Yoona’s head never stopped. The last Im’s heart pounded faster, making Yoona groan at the inevitable change that she will have to undergo. She prayed that Juhyun would leave her, only finding it futile knowing that the younger vamp would not leave her side in this state.
“J-Juhyun, p-please l-leave m-me.” Yoona requested, her voice almost a whisper.
“You’re sick, unnie.” Juhyun stated, voice firm as the maknae took her place before Yoona’s form, kneeling over to level with Yoona’s gaze. “I cannot leave you like this.”
“Y-You h-have t-to. I-I m-might h-hurt y-you…”
“But you will not, unnie.”
A low growl escaped the Im’s lips. Juhyun found herself frowning at the lying figure on the medium-sized couch. She hesitantly raised her hand to pull on Yoona’s arm only to leave it hanging in the air when she caught a glimpse of a golden eye peeking at her before they disappeared behind Yoona’s pallid arm.
“Yoona-unnie?” Juhyun’s voice was a whisper, her hand moved to wrap around the Im’s arm.
“Don’t.” Yoona’s weak voice said.
Juhyun only tightened her grip on the arm, her brows furrowed on the older vampire.
“Do not touch me, Juhyun,” was Yoona’s reply.
“Why?”
“I can’t control myself.”
“What do you mean,
