Soojung and her remaining cousins had burst into the crypt where they had laid her older sister, only to find Taeyeon resting above Sooyeon’s unmoved form, Taeyeon’s eyes stuck in a white trance. Soojung’s eyes found Juhyun, who was being assisted by Soonkyu.

“Do you know what’s happening to her?” Soojung asked to no one in particular, alarm written all over her face as she watched her eldest sister’s hypnotized state.  

“She’s trying to reconnect with Sooyeon again… I… think…” Sooyoung blurted out, eyes also trained on the dazed Taeyeon who hadn’t moved an inch.

“But Sooyeon is dead!” Miyoung exclaimed, her heart aching at having to acknowledge the awful truth, “Sooyeon has died a year ago…”

Soojung’s brows furrowed. Taeyeon must have been stuck in her trance for quite a while now. Footsteps coming from the stairs leading to the crypts averted everyone’s attention from Taeyeon. From the shadows, the ancient vampires appeared with worried expressions.

“What’s this?!” Rika demanded once her eyes fell on her descendant and heiress. White Tiger paused in his tracks after seeing Taeyeon’s white eyes.

“Taeyeon!” The ancient one moved to Taeyeon’s side, hands vigorously trying to shake Taeyeon out of her strange reverie. Taeyeon didn’t bat an eyelash at any of her ancestor’s attempts to awaken her.

Soojung found herself moving over to her sisters – one dead and one trapped in some realm they knew not of. “Grandfather,” Soojung placed a hand over her ancestor’s, “Let me handle this.” And with that, the ancestor relented, stepping aside to allow Soojung to bring back her eldest sibling into the real world.

When the youngest Jung touched her eldest sister, she was into a vortex of time and space. Then, everything went dark.
