The Sun-kissed Savior
A Twisted Tale of Bloodlines IIAs if time had come to a standstill, the rushing mountain of snow stopped in its tracks, hot mist ghosted over the white flood’s frontline. It had been the doing of the newcomer who held the limp body of the young Im in the arms.
Long, loose, golden strands of hair fluttered from the hooded figure as the unforgiving breeze passed by. The fighting werewolves and vampires stopped in their ruckus as they observed the powerful being in their presence. Both sides were lost in their pondering as they watched the stranger bend down to the ground to place Yoona’s body on the snow, pressing an index finger on the unconscious vampire’s forehead before the mysterious person gently laid the young one on the snow, straightening up without a word after the deed.
The hood’s shadow had veiled the figure’s face, preventing anyone from seeing beyond the stray golden strands that stuck out of the head covering. The ebon cloak fully covered the person’s body, keeping anyone from knowing the person’s agenda and identity altogether.
The stranger raised a hand, palm facing the ground as if summoning something. The hand glowed and a great flash struck the vampires and werewolves alike, momentarily blinding them. When everyone recovered from the disturbing light, they saw the mysterious one wielding a very familiar sword.
The figure stepped forth and in a split second, embedded the sharp blade into an archer wolf’s heart. Soonkyu immediately realized that the newcomer was on their side. The timely appearance of an ally brought the vampire’s spirits up. Yuri took the opportunity to scoop Yoona’s limp body from the snow and escape the skirmish that had once again unfolded. She ascended into the air, cradling the young Im’s body with her arms and immediately boosted herself towards the summit where only the unforgiving cold was their enemy.
In the meantime, everyone else left in the middle of the battle struggled against their opponents. Soojung, in particular, was having a hard time facing two werewolves at the same time. These wolves were the most powerful she had ever encountered. Their bulky and furry forms towered over her petite figure while the weapons they wielded were intimidating: a huge axe, a great long bow and arrows laced with hunter spells.
The youngest Jung summoned a huge ice wall to protect herself, but the strong werewolves, to her surprise, were also masters of the element she had under her disposal. They had outnumbered her, disintegrating her ice wall with ease, attacking her with their deadly jaws, claws, axe, and arrows to which she had barely eluded.
One ice wolf came too close to her and Soojung had winced, protecting herself with her arm as she anticipated the incoming pain. But none came. She opened her eyes to see the mysterious figure hold off the werewolf by the neck.
Soojung watched as Yoona’s rescuer flung her opponent’s body away towards their enemies.
“W-Who are you?” The Jung maknae asked, astonished at the swiftness and strength of her savior.
“It’s unnie.” A familiar voice came from the figure whose back was turned to her.
Soojung’s eyes lit up. Her unnie had come to their rescue after such a long time.
“Unnie…”
Soojung had to contain her surprise. She’s in the middle of the fight and their team needed all the help they need. Her newly returned unnie was already off to fight the axe-wielding werewolf, eluding the huge blade laced with ice crystals. With the unnie’s swift movements, her long ebon cape barely survived the attacks, getting sliced by the huge blade making it diffi
