Sehun, Kai and Chanyeol walked through the palace, avoiding collisions with coyotes or even wolves. They couldn’t risk accidentally running into either, only to have to kill them in the end.
“She’s near.” Kai said, once they treaded up a set of stairs to the fifth floor of the palace. Sehun had to restrain himself from wanting to savour his time in the palace, his home. He longed to run through the corridors without having to sneak in the way he was doing now with Kai and Chanyeol at his sides.
However, Sehun lowered his head, tucking his hands within the pocket of his leather jacket. He was supposed to return home with a mate but he’d returned empty handed. He gritted his teeth, fighting the urge to ram his knee to wall. He felt useless and unwanted, especially with the letter scribbled up reminding him how incompetent and unloved he was.

The stench of blood and metal filled the air. Sehun had to block his nose as it was strong and made him dizzy.
He only noticed the cries of agony once his eyes amplified onto Kai who was arched over the bed, with a lifeless body in his arms. He saw Chanyeol trembling blankly at the dead figure of Kai’s sister, his eyes looking haunted and torn with grief.
“Ara! Ara!” Kai cried out, shaking her pale body in his arms with desperation. He clung onto her ragged clothes, soaked with blood from the knife slashes running along her sides and stomach.
Sehun’s stomach clenched with sickness. *Which sick bastard would do this?*
From the corner of his eye, he saw a figure stagger into the room, his hands clutching tightly onto his chest.
Sehun caught his familiar scent and straight hair. His normally olive skin
