Chaeyoung fixed her wavy strands of hair to one side and ran her fingers over her neck that was fully covered in her dress. She viewed her reflection through the full-length mirror; her dress fitted perfectly but the gaping slit at the back still worried her since her back was fully exposed for everyone to observe.

She outlined her eyes with dark eye liner and smeared a clean red lipstick over her lips to produce a y image to match the dress. Her eyes stood out more now. She added some dangly earrings and also slipped on her ankle-boots, enhancing her average height. Overall, Chaeyoung knew she looked good. She just hoped no one would try and make a move on her.

Th doorbell rang suddenly, signalling Tao’s arrival. Chaeyoung adjusted her perfect  wavy strands again and slipped on a black clutch.

At the door, Tao awkwardly stood on the step, playing with the set of keys to his car. Once the door opened, he froze in disbelief.

“Stop staring.” Chaeyoung lightly scolded, “You’re jaw is hanging too low.” She added, half-teasing half-serious. She came forward, her body brushing slightly against Tao who couldn’t stop staring. Chaeyoung just clucked her tongue, turning around to close and lock her front door. Tao’s eyes immediately landed on her exposed back, his fingers itching to feel its smoothness.

“Let’s go now.” Chaeyoung tilted her head back to meet Tao’s disbelieving gaze. Tao dumbly nodded. “Y-yeah.”

 Tao could not avert his eyes, even if he wanted to. His wolf senses felt livelier now, especially being near her.  *Stop being creepy Tao!* He shamefully reprimanded himself and opened the door to his Porsche for her entry.

The party held at Tao’s house was more than big. It was packed with races belonging to both human and wolves. She would be the only one of neither race in the house. From the inside of the car, she could hear the loud music pumping through the white mansion.

“Big huh?” Tao looked out his window to see more cars coming up the driveway.

Chaeyoung agreed, “You’re parents must be so busy.”

“Yes but once we’re in there; their eyes will solely be on us.” Tao said, “They want to know what their dear son is up to but they’ll be shocked to see you.” He smirked, already imagining their eyes expanding in incredulity.

“Are there lots of wolves in there?”

“More than half.” Tao killed the engine, and the vehicle stilled. “Also…” He turned to face Chaeyoung, still in awe, “Once we’re in there, we have to make this believable.”

“No problem.” Chaeyoung slipped outside into the night.

Tao followed after, completely amused. He wondered how she’ll be able to pull this off. “Ok then, let’s go.”

At the two giant, double doors, guards awaited the guests. The guards seeped in Tao’s familiar face and immediately bowed in his presence. “Master Tao.” They politely chorused. Chaeyoung momentarily forgot that Tao was from a wealthy family, his car and mansion being proof.

“This is it.” Tao mumbled, nervous as hell. He still doubted that they’ll appear fake in his parent’s eyes but Chaeyoung would make sure they acted ‘real’.

She came closer to Tao’s side and clutched lightly onto his sturdy arm that held a few muscles. “You look handsome tonight.” She whispered in his ears. Tao grew flustered, “Thanks but your beauty overpowers mine by a mile.” He earnestly said. Chaeyoung rolled her eyes, “You’re overreacting.”

“I’m not.” Tao caught her eyes in an intense hold. “You’re more beautiful than any women I’ve seen.”
