“She’s gone.” Suho held onto Sehun’s shoulder, gazing down at his Prince. He knew this treacherous moment would traumatise Sehun and haunt his every dream. Mates were forever.
Sehun cried onto Suho’s shoulder, “She can’t leave me hyung!”
“Oh Sehun.” Suho placed his arms around him into a brotherly embrace.
Others watched in silence, not daring to speak a word, only letting their tears of mourning resonate through the Ball Room. They didn't want to taint this moment with words. Instead, they all lowered their heads in respect of the death.
When Sehun released himself from Suho, his eyes were coloured a dark emerald shade. Moisture still bled in his eyes along with that gleaming look of agony. His body morphed steadily into a pure white wolf, causing all the coyotes in the room to quiver with profound fear. The big wolf emitted a venomous howl in the air- one that was furious as well as heart-breaking.
Yugyeom who had speared Chaeyoung grew paralysed once the white wolf stared at him. He held out his bloodied hands, but that seemed to be a mistake as Sehun took note. He snarled loud, whipping his head back and forth.
Jackson and JB came to his side, shielding Yugyeom with their bodies. “’Please, do not harm him.” Jackson spoke. “He didn’t intend for her to die!”
Sehun barked viciously towards them. He was tense with strain, and coiled tight like a spring. Howver, whatever restrained him snapped. He began towards them, effortlessly throwing Jackson and JB to the sides to access Yugyeom. His Pack had yelled in protest as Sehun stood before Yugyeom with intimidating eyes that were jaded with pure malice.
Yugyeom stumbled backwards with wide-eyes but Sehun clamped his teeth onto his ankle, forcing him beneath Sehun’s beast. Sehun’s claws extended, and he held it near his beating heart. Yugyeom officially paled as the tip pierced his shirt and aligned perfectly near his heart.
An eye for an eye.
Before Sehun could penetrate his claws into the coyote, he was stopped by a golden wolf.
Kris.
‘Do not harm him’ Kris linked into Sehun’s head.
Sehun looked at him incredulously, ‘How’d you-‘
“I’m a noble.” Kris said; power emanating from each of his words. “And as a noble, I shall deal with him personally.” His baritone carried unrivalled authority that it actually humbled Sehun's beast.
Sehun had no choice but to back down despite the vengeance that bled through his veins. *No. I can’t do this. Chaeyoung is more important.* He forced his head away and plodded towards his dead mate.
1 month later…….
Sehun climbed the few stairs leading to the stage. A silk cap hung at his shoulder, tousling down near his feet with the royal family’s emblem stitched in red. His whole attire was screaming with wealth. The black khaki pants that disappeared inside a pair of black boots, the white dress shirt covered with a thigh-long coat, buttoned up.
He was dressed comfortably for today’s special event.
His coronation.
His steps were swift when he stood on centre-stage; his dead eyes cast amongst the wolves huddled inside the massive Ball Room wearing their finest gown and tuxes.
It had been precisely a month since he stepped in this room. Even with the bad memories playing in his head, he held a smile and received a thunderous round of clap
