40. Yesung & Eunhyuk

There were many things Hyukjae could admit his roommate was weird at. Partly suspecting OCD and partly blaming his parents that have probably dropped Jongwoon on his head when he was a baby, Hyukjae was able to somehow not hold a grudge against the other man for being the special person he was. The list could go on for a really long time when discussing Jongwoon's... peculiarities. But the most special in Hyukjae's opinion was the guy's sleeping habits. First night they had spent in their shared room at the university's dorms, Hyukjae realised his academic years were to be sprinkled with the sparkly dust of Jongwoon's weirdness.

"I can't sleep without a light ," he had simply stated when Hyukjae tried to protest against the turtle shaped table-lamp blaring its warm white light in the room in the unforgiving hours after midnight. The skinny man had sighed and buried his head under his pillows. 

Two months had already gone by since the beginning of the year and the weather was getting chilly. Returning to the room after a long day of lectures and lab exercises, Hyukjae dropped carelessly his bag on the floor and dragged his feet across the room. Showering lazily, he then wore his PJs and crawled on his bed. 

"Ahh..."

Stretching his cramped his limbs, sleep didn't take long to come. But later, as a dream was coming to an end, Hyukjae sensed a change to his surroundings. His bed felt more narrow, his duvet warmer and -the most important thing- the usual turtle-light was absent. Slowly waking up, Hyukjae opened his eyes only to face complete blackness... Blackness that was suspiciously smelling like his roommate's shampoo.

"What the..."

Pulling his body to a sitting position, the blackness dispelled to strands of dark, unruly hair contrasting on the beige pillowcase.

"JONGWOON! WHAT THE HELL!"

One eye blinking open, said man only settled deeper in the covers now that the other man had given him more space.

"What are you doing in my bed?" demanded Hyukjae in a lower voice, aware of the occupants of the other rooms. The other man's voice was heard muffled as he didn't make an effort to sit up as well.

"You said Ddangkoma isn't letting you sleep well. I turned her off..."

As if that was explaining everything, Jongwoon closed his eye again. Hyukjae laughed awkwardly at the situation he had gotten into. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed indignantly.

"What, are you afraid to sleep alone or something?"

Jongwoon didn't answer, but pulled the duvet over his head. Hesitating for a moment, Hyukjae then settled back on the pillows. "Just don't hug me, okay?"

A soft chuckle was heard to his right. Sure enough, Hyukjae woke up the next morning with an arm tightly wrapped around his waist. And that was only the start of their university studies.
