Chapter 36

Two Different Worlds

Both of them beamed as they saw me and Krystal. “My beautiful dongsaengs!” Heechul exclaimed. “What’s up, yo? Uju Dae Star is in the house, yo! Gimme five!” He mixed English and Korean like a boss. Omg, wud.

Krystal and I burst into uncontrollable laugh. Donghae covered his face with his palm, looking embarrassed. “Aigoo, hyung~ Soojung-ah (AN: it’s Krystal’s Korean name), ______-ah, please just ignore this old man.”

Heechul then glared at Donghae and said, “You’re just jealous cause I’m cooler than you and they like me more than they like you, Fishy~”

Heechul sat between Krystal and me. Donghae sat next to me. So, our seat position from left to right was like: Krystal-Heechul-me-Donghae.

“Oppa, you’re not filming yet?” Krystal asked Heechul.

Donghae pulled out his phone and typed something. I was watching him doing that, when he looked up and warmly smiled at me.

“We already filmed it once, now we’re on break,” Heechul answered. “Donghae and I decided to take a look around just in case we could spot one or two yeppeun dongsaeng(s) of ours. Turned out that we succeeded. Kkk~ What are you girls doing here anyway?”

“Accompanying Luna, Sulli and Vic. They’ll dance with you, right?”

“Ah, Luna and Vic will dance with us,” Donghae answered. “Eh, ______-ah, I think I need to talk to you.”

The three of us stared at Donghae, waiting for him to open his mouth and say whatever he wanted to say to me. But he confusedly stared back at us. “In private, I meant,” he finally added. Oooooh, what for?

“Dorobbong, are you trying to flirt with my baby girl?!” Heechul shouted. Aigoooooooo.

Krystal laughed. “Donghae oppa, you’re not gonna kidnap my unnie, right?”

Donghae, no longer able to stand the embarrassment, put a hand on my shoulder and motioned me to come with him. “We have super important business to talk about!” Then we both went out of the waiting room. I could hear Heechul shouting, “Hae, don’t go for too long! You still have dance rehearsal!”

Donghae led the way. I got so curious. “What is the thing you want to say, Donghae oppa?”

He smiled at me. “Before I tell it, promise me you won’t get mad at nor be afraid of me.”

Why would I want to get mad at and be afraid of him? “Haha, okay I promise.”

“Because all I want is you to be happy. You, and my leader.” We kept on walking through the narrow corridor.

Happy... Me... And his leader? Excuse me, say what?!

We stopped in front of a door. Donghae faced me and held both of my shoulders. He stared straight at me, saying, “He has told me everything. I know it, ______-ah.” I still don’t see where this conversation is going. “I’m gonna support you both, okay? Now, come inside. I’ll be waiting out here.” Donghae opened the door and pushed me inside the room. He then closed it again.

I glanced around the room. It was quite big and the whole wall was painted white. There was nothing here, except a big black sofa. Its back faced me. I approached it and... someone was lying on it, sleeping like a baby. Jung Soo...

I quietly walked towards him. I kneeled down to adjust the height so I could stare at the figure of him sleeping. His smooth hair, his beautiful eyelashes, his flawless face... all is mine.

He was sleeping between the filming... This man must feel so tired.

Some layer of his bang fell. I removed them so I could his eyelashes again, oblivious that my motion could wake him up.

Jung Soo slowly opened his eyes. He lifted his hand and placed it on my left cheek. “This is the most beautiful dream ever.” He then closed his eyes again and continued sleeping.

Omona, he thought that it was a dream! Ah so cute ;~;

I ended up sitting on the floor, watching him sleeping. It was very nice. The view, the atmosphere. So soothing.

Around five minutes later, Jung Soo opened his eyes again. He stared at me. “Is this a dream or not...?” He weakly asked.

I shook my head, smiling. “Reality, indeed.”

Jung Soo quickly got up and held my hands, pulling me up to the sofa. “How?” He was confused and looked so weak.

“f(x)~ I’m accompanying them here. They’re friends of mine, you know...”

Jung Soo held my hand. “But how could you get in here? In this room? In front of me?” He smiled, not seeming to believe the view.

“Donghae oppa...”

“Ah...” Jung Soo sighed. “I told him about us. Are you mad at me? Well, Donghae and I... We talk about everything.”

“No, of course not. It’s okay.” I smiled, assuring him.

Jung Soo hugged me around my shoulder. “Jeez, I miss you so bad.” His boyish voice whispered to me, sending electric particles through my body.

He rested his head on my right shoulder.

“Me too,” I said.

Jung Soo held my hand so tight but he didn’t say anything. So I continued, “Is today Kibum’s birthday?”

I could feel him nodding. “Which one is Kibum? Why have I never met him before?”

Jung Soo straightened his position “He’s not here with us. He’s working hard to pursue his dream out there,” he said in a sad, yet proud tone. I couldn’t really tell... but something wasn’t so right. Was it because I brought the Kibum guy in the conversation? Oh crap.

“What’s wrong, Leeteuk-ssi?”

He chuckled. “Everything is..., dear.”

I caressed his face from forehead to the cheek. “As much as I want to tell you that everything is going to be okay, I also know that it won’t work that way and we can’t be so sure about the future. But I’m here. So don’t worry so much.”

Jung Soo took my hand and kissed it. “I’m sorry for bringing you to the real life of Park Jung Soo.”

Can he stop saying sorry? He does nothing wrong... I shook my head and said, “Well I’m glad that you brought me to the real life of Park Jung Soo.”

Jung Soo laughed. Oh well, I don’t know that what I said just now was THAT funny. “You know what girl? I never intended to do so.” Huh? “I usually like girls who are faithful, friendly and polite. When we first met, you were not like that at all. I almost hated you, to be honest. But the more you pissed me off, the more I got curious about you. It sounds cliché I know, but I thank God you were not like them girls. Because if you were, you would just be the same and I wouldn’t give much attention on you.”

I smiled. “Why? Why did you fall for me?”

Jung Soo thought for around five seconds, then he put a knowing smile and answered, “Honestly, I don’t know why. You’re not the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen in life.” I take that as a compliment. “And you clearly don’t have the best personality out there. You’re too bittersweet, and that confuses me a lot.” That too. “But I just like you. A lot. Nah, I love you. You and your weird self, I love it all.”

I hugged him around his waist. Boy, his body is too slim. He embraced my shoulders and we stayed in this position for a while before I looked up to his face and asked, “Are you not gonna ask me why too?”

Jung Soo shook his head and cutely said, “Na’ah~ I’m not curious.” I pinched his waist. “Okay, okay. Why?” Now that’s better.

“Honestly I don’t know why,” I copied his previous words, his tone and his facial expression. Hahaha. “You’re not the best looking man I’ve ever seen. You’re pretty old in fact.” His facial expression slowly turned sour. Hahaha. Payback! “And you clearly don’t have the best personality out there. You’re too childish and unpredictable it tires me.” He got more and more annoyed. More LOL for me. “But I just like you. A lot. No, I love you. You and your strange self. I love it.”

Jung Soo beamed. He pinched my nose. Ouch. “You lied. I’m obviously the best looking man you’ve ever met.”

“Narcissist,” I murmured.

“Well, I am...,” Jung Soo cheerfully said. “I have the rights to be one. I am loved by the girl I love. I can be such a narcissist.”

“You’re too sweet it’s gross.” I saw him pouting, so I continued, “Omg, just kidding, bro.”

“Bro!” Jung Soo exclaimed out of the blue. Okay, what’s up? “You called me bro just now! In English! Now, let’s try the Korean way! O~ppa~ Come on, o~ppa~” He said it as if I was a 3 year old kid that was trying to learn how to talk.

I refused to open my mouth and tried as hard as I could not to laugh.

Jung Soo didn’t give up though. “Come on, ______-ah. O~ppa~! Just two syllables! O and ppa!” Oh boy I wished y’all could see his face now. He looked like a duck. His lips, omg, so kissable.

“Leeteuk-ssi, why are you like this?” I pretended to get annoyed. “I thought you said you won’t force me!”

Jung Soo pouted. “But you’re making me wait for too long! I want to be called Teuki oppa!” Here he goes again... Nagging Jung Soo. Sometimes I wondered who the older one here was.

“Um anyway, Leeteuk-ssi, is it only Donghae or there are other people who know about us?” I switched the topic.

He pouted even more. “Oppa only told Donghae. We share the same room and talk a lot before we sleep. It’s a daily routine. Oppa cannot hide anything from Donghae.” Jung Soo just had to emphasize the word oppa, didn’t he?

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Donghae’s face popped in from the open door. Jung Soo and I got off from each other as if we just got caught. Well, we did. LEE DONGHAE!!!

He smiled innocently, “Sorry hyung for interrupting. But apparently I need to go for the dance rehearsal and can no longer guard the door for you both. So what do you think?”

Jung Soo stared at me. “It’s cool, Hae. Just leave. We’ll be fine here.”

Donghae hesitated. “You sure? I think it’s better if I take ______ back, hyung. Krystal will go look for her any minute now. Besides, no keys here and everyone can come in catching you guys.”

Jung Soo turned to Donghae. “Nah, it’s cool. We’ll be careful. Thank you, Hae. I appreciate what you’ve been doing for me and my girlfriend.” Girlfriend. GIRLFRIEND. GIRLFRIEND!!! It still felt unreal somehow.

Donghae glanced at me and I mouthed, “Thanks, oppa.” He then smiled.

“Okay, you two. Just take care.” With that Donghae closed the door and left.

“Think Donghae oppa was just right. I should leave,” I said.

“But I just indirectly sent him away so we can have more time together,” Jung Soo disappointedly said. “It’s okay. Come on, fifteen minutes more, ______-ah. I miss you. Don’t you miss me too?”

Dayum that puppy eyes.

“Just fifteen minutes. And not more.”

Jung Soo happily messed my hair.

Chapter 69: Fun while it lasted?! How sad it can last longer! I really want an ending to this story! You should definitely continue writing though. Maybe you could do an epilogue-y conclusion thing in a separate two-shot to finish the story and show off your improved writing
