The Bracelet

Never stopped loving you

Sojin POV

I tossed and turned in bed as the memories kept flashing in my mind. I had just come back from a small date with Dongwoo which ended quite late, and instantly went to sleep. But instead of a happy dream filled with wonderful representations of what the future might be like with Dongwoo in my life; I was getting images of every person I have met flashed around in my head.

It started off with Woohyun giving me a wide grin mumbling something incoherent before being morphed into Min, who was giving me a lecture about why she was prettier than me. Then it changed again but this time it was Ahjumma with her black apron wrapped securely around her waist. The scene would constantly keep changing from person to person, but even still my eyes were able to pick up on one thing.

They were all wearing the old woven bracelet that has been on my mind ever since the encounter I had with that man in the café.

“Jaigya~” My head snapped towards the direction of his voice before my legs automatically started to run towards him. Before I could engulf him into a hug he disappeared, and in his place was the bracelet sitting on the grass. Curiously, I picked it up and examined it carefully before wrapping it around my wrist.

I heard a small snap of a twig which caused me to turn around in panic. However when I turned around, there was nothing but an empty park with a few trees surrounding it in a circular fashion. With a shake of my head I continued to tie the string around my wrist, convincing myself it was just my imagination.

“You won’t be able to get rid of me.” I felt my blood grow cold at the voice and quickly spun on my heel only to be greeted by the hard back of an unknown person. Startled, I jumped back with my hand over my chest as I stared at the familiar man with wide eyes.

“Who are you?” My voice came out shaky as I tried to contain my emotions. I didn’t know what I was feeling. Confusion, surprise, anger, everything was mixed together and shoved inside my small heart.

His eyes held a fierce gaze matching his intimidating aura, but for some unknown reason I felt compelled to stare into them. It was more a feeling of curiosity than anything else. But I still couldn’t help but feel a pink blush grow over my cheeks.

Just as I leant out to touch him he disappeared as quickly as he appeared. I furrowed my eyebrows and scanned my eyes around the area in search for the man. But much to my luck there was nothing but an empty park once again.

“I didn’t get to see who he was…” I huffed pulling my thin dressing gown tighter around my petite waist in an attempt to gain warmth. A shrill breeze swept by causing my hair to fly around in various directions causing me to shiver. But in amongst the sound of my teeth clattering together and the rustling of the leaves, a soft whisper could be heard before it disappeared.

“I’m a lot closer than you think.”

I jolted awake, cold sweat running down my forehead. I turned my head to the clock on my bedside table and groaned at the time stated in big red characters.

1:59

My hands fumbled around trying to find the switch to my brown lamp. After knocking over many things that were sitting on my table, I finally found what I was looking for and flipped the switch on lighting up the spacious bedroom.

My heart was racing and my head was pounding. Just who was that man? And what did he have to do with me? It just seemed so real, my friends, the man and the bracelet. My hand unconsciously went to my left wrist but much to my disappointment there was nothing there. Of course Sojin, it’s just a dream.

Brushing aside my thoughts, I sat up and rubbed my eyes before reaching over to my drawer and pulling out a small photo of two small children. I smiled at the memory and lightly traced my finger over the face of the young boy.

“If only I could see you again.” I whispered a small tear escaping from my eye, hitting the face of the girl who was standing beside him dressed in a pink dress.

“Why did you ever leave…”

No one's POV

A mysterious figure emerged from the behind the tall bush adjacent from the house occupied with a group of out of control boys and one special girl, all of whom are oblivious to the pondering eyes of the man.

He glanced at the window on the second floor directly above the roses that were so carefully planted, and let out a small breath as he remembered the encounter he shared with the girl a few days prior.

The moon was high in the sky and the crickets were buzzing bringing out the summer atmosphere. There was not a soul in sight and the roads remained quiet and empty; one factor which made it difficult for the man to sneak around without being noticed.

The smirk the man was sporting was not clear due to the dimly lit street lamp but the look in his eyes could only mean one thing – he was not here for fun and games, this man meant business.

After watching the light in the second story window turn off, he turned around and continued on his journey. His boss would definitely be happy with what he had found out.

Leaning into the pocket of his leather jacket, he pulled out the string bracelet clutching it tightly in his fist.

“Even though the mind forgets, the heart remembers. It’s only a matter of time, Sojin.” He breathed before disappearing around the corner of the street.

A/N:

Hello!

Sorry I didn’t update for a while but I was busy with exams and I was writing this angst one shot.

Please if you have time, read it. I tried hard with that story as it was something I’ve had in mind ever since I started writing ‘Never Stopped Loving You…”

So here is the link:  Goodbye - featuring you and Lee Minhyuk of Block B.

Also, sorry if this chapter wasn’t long enough or wasn’t satisfying for some.

But ever since I heard of the news about Super Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, I’ve been doing nothing but worry. I still have family over there and they live in the area where the typhoon went and I couldn’t help but become extremely anxious for their safety.

So I would just like to say that all my thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected or those who have loved ones in the Philippines and all the other countries hit by this devastating disaster. Don’t lose hope and always believe. Even though you might not be able to see this, just know that there are lots of people thinking of you.

Hopefully the death toll won’t rise anymore and that all the relief aid would get to those that need it.

Thank you guys for reading this fan fiction. As always I really appreciate all of your comments and nice words. I love you guys <3

Till next time,
