Chapter Twenty-five

Faking Innocence

Taeyang sat on the side trying not to mope around at the fact that he was feeling envious of his best friend at the moment. There were rare moments where Taeyang had felt envious of Top finding a cool hat or what not, but this was a first time he had felt envious of the fact that Top was receiving attention from his girlfriend. It was as if he didn't exist as he watched Minzy and Top prance all around the party together without a care in the world.

"Don't look too jealous, it doesn't suit you," Daesung chuckled as he handed Taeyang a cold drink.

Taeyang shrugged it off as he accepted the drink, "I can't help it. Seeing Minzy hang around my best friend like that is just too much."

Daesung gave Taeyang a heart felt slap on the back, "Don't worry my friend. Minzy doesn't see him like that. See it as childhood friends being reunited and nothing more."

"I guess," Taeyang shrugged as he downed his drink.

"You guess? Holy man you are whipped," Daesung shook his head and laughed. "If you don't like it, why don't you go do something about it."

"I guess I should," Taeyang nodded as he rose to his feet and made his way to the pair who had been chatting away. "Minzy let's dance," Taeyang said interupting their conversation.

Minzy glared over at him before forcing a smile, "Can't you see I'm busy?" Her words rang as a warning to off and leave them alone, but he wasn't having it.

Reaching over he grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her up on her feet, "Top doesn't mind does he?" He glanced over to his so called best friend who gave him a look to stop.

"Man I don't think she wants to dance right now," Top tried to say as if to leave it alone and walk away.

Sighing at the less then subtle hints, he released her wrist and frowned, "I'm leaving."

Minzy coughed a laugh before folding her arms over her chest, "You're really gonna leave because I won't dance with you? Go grab a drink or one of these hoes up in this house. Every other guy would take advantage of the free booze and s why can't you?"

Her words made him angry, "If you haven't noticed yet I'm not like other guys!"

"Oh really? Is that why you and Seunghyun used me in your ed up game," Minzy spat right back.

He fell into that one and shook his head as he turned to leave, " it. I'm leaving."

Taeyang made his way to his car, before he was grabbed from behind, "Don't you dare ing walk away from me!"

He spun around and glared at Minzy, "What did you want me to do?! I don't wanna just sit there looking like a dumb as you spend quality time with my best friend!"

She eyed him as she stood in silence before laughing, "Are you ing for real?"

"What," he sighed annoyed that she was laughing at him.

"Taeyang let me make it clear to you right now, me and Seunghyun were best friends first and that's it nothing more. So I don't know why you have to get all jealous..."

"Because I wanted to spend time with you not anyone else," Taeyang cut her off before he hissed and turned to punch the hood of his car. "Look I'm sorry, I just don't wanna be here anymore."

He was surprised to receive a warm embrace from behind, "I'm sorry. We can go if you want to. I don't want to ruin your weekend."

He liked feeling her small warm body against his and couldn't help but grin, "I told you my birthday is no big deal."

But Minzy wasn't having it as she squeezed him tightly, "Don't be such a party pooper and let's get out of here and get this party started."

The small kiss she pressed against his neck made his neck tingle before she pulled away and jumped into the passenger's seat, "Where are we going?"

"Back to your place of course. Where we can have angry ," Minzy giggled at her dirty thoughts.

"You don't have to tell me twice," he grinned as he jumped into the car and stepped on the gas to leave.

Taeyang enjoyed ever minute of their heated angry as she put it, that it had put him right to sleep. As if reaching out to wrap his arms around her, he found nothing but the sheets. Forcing his eye lids open, he noticed the empty space before him and frowned. Where was she? As if to answer his question, he smelt heaven invading his nostrils. Pushing his sore body up from the bed, he grinned as he heard music playing. Sluggishly making his way out to the kitchen he yonded as he leaned against the kitchen opening. He couldn't help the smile that appeared across his lips seeing her in one of his long white t-shirts dancing and cooking to the music playing.

Walking up from behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his head in the crook of her neck to give her a kiss, "Good morning."

"Morning breakfast is almost ready," she giggled at his breath tickling her neck. "Now go have a seat," she tried to push him away.

"But I want you for breakfast," he breathed as he nibbled at her neck before kissing it yet again.

She sighed as she slipped out of his embrace, "Stop before you make me burn this and go have a seat."

"Yes mom," he teased as he plopped onto the chair and watched her cook.

Minzy looked so beautiful to him with nothing but his t-shirt on. The way it clung to her body, it made his mouth water with want. Watching as she made him a plate, he couldn't help the stupid grin that graced his lips as she turned with a bright smile, "Breakfast is ready!"

Taeyang ate up every last bit of his hot meal. It was damn good and the way she served him he felt like a king, "You're ing amazing!"

"Thank you. Now after this I'm gonna go..."

"Where are you going," he frowned in a panic.

She chuckled as she placed a hand upon his, "Like I said, I'm gonna go and get ready for your special day. I want you to get dressed as well."

"Why? I like the way you're dressed right now. Why don't we just spend the day together like this," he offered truthfully.

"Uh no, we're gonna celebrate your birthday whether you like it or not and that's final," she gave him a sharp look before she got up to clear the table.

He sighed in defeat before making his way towards her and encircling his hands around her waist, "Fine then I want a little birthday loving before you go."

Minzy shrieked as she was lifted off of her feet and rushed back into the bedroom, "Taeyang you naughty boy!"

"You make me naughty," he chuckled as he tossed her lightly onto the bed before ripping his shirt off of her.

Taeyang looked at himself in the mirror and frowned. As much as he wanted to enjoy whatever Minzy had planned today, the thought of ending his day with his family shadowed over his forecast. A knock came at the door and he went to answer it to find a beautiful young woman standing in a bright baby blue sun dress, "Are you ready to go?" He nodded as he let her take his hand and pull him out. "Then let's go!"

The ride was silent as he drove them to a park she had led them to, "Alright we're here."

"Yes we are," Minzy clasped her hands together. "Let's go!"

He smiled at her bright child like character and followed her as she made her way into the park. As he trailed behind her, he watched her walk up a hill to see a nicely put picnic displayed before them. "Is this for me," he smiled as she took a seat on the blanket and waved for him to come.

"Today is all for you," she smiled brightly before pulling out various containers from the basket that sat on the blanket. "I made everything from scratch just for you."

"Oh really," he was touched as she scooped big servings onto a plate.

"Yeah and you're going to sit back and relax as I feed you," she grinned as she held his plate.

"You're gonna what," he laughed, receiving a slap to the arm. "Alright...alright."

Minzy scooped up a serving of her freshly made garden salad and held it up to his lips. Waiting until he opened his mouth, she fed him before placing a sweet kiss to his lips. "See not that bad."

"I'll eat the whole damn plate if you keep feeding me like that," he smiled.

"That's what I thought," she smirked and winked as she served him another scoop before kissing him yet again.

It was more like a make out session with food as Minzy got Taeyang to finish up the last bite of what was left on the plate, "Now time for dessert!" Standing to her feet, she held out her hand to help him up. Hooking her arm to his she led him further into the park to where a guy was playing the guitar by the lake underneath a large tree.

Taeyang was fairly impressed by the skilled guitar player as he stood bobbing his head to the song playing. After the song ended, the couple clapped their hands giving him praise before the man stopped to reach for something. To Taeyang's surprise, the man lifted a lit cupcake and handed it to Minzy who then started to sing happy birthday to him accompanied with the guitarist.

"Make a wish," Minzy squealed with glee as she held the cupcake out to him.

The look of happiness on her face was more than he could ask for at the moment and found himself giving thanks instead of wishing for something before blowing out the candle. Minzy then smashed it into his face and laughed at his shocked expression. But she didn't think that out too well as he grabbed her and crashed his lips against hers causing the frosting and cupcake to smear onto her face as well. The pair laughed as they kissed and off the sweet cupcake.

"Do you mind playing us a slow song," Taeyang pulled away to look over at the amused guitarist who nodded before stringing away at his guitar. He then turned to Minzy and extended his hand out to her. She couldn't help but accept his hand as she was pulled flesh to flesh with him. Drapping her arms over his shoulders, she leaned her head against his chest and sighed. Meanwhile Taeyang buried his face in her hair and inhaled her beauty. He felt so happy at the moment that for once he actually was glad it was his birthday. "Thank you Minzy for giving me the best birthday I've ever had."

"You're welcome," she pulled back to look up at him.

He grinned seeing frosting on the tip of her nose and bent down to it off, "You taste sweet."

"You're such a manwhore," she teased as she laughed.

"Just for you," he found himself smirking down at her.

Minzy resisted the urge to say something smart to him as she thought about this past week, "I met your mom."

Her words shot down this great moment he was living in and couldn't help but sigh, "Yeah?"

"Yeah I did. She's a...nice woman," Minzy hesitantly said.

Taeyang couldn't help but cough a laugh, "You don't have to lie to me. I know my mother and she was probably very rude to you. I'm sorry if she was."

"It's fine, she's your mother. I'd be concern if she wasn't," Minzy countered. "But the reason I bring her up is because I want to know if you really want me to go with you to dinner tonight? I mean...I understand if you don't want me to."

Taeyang tighten his grip on her waist as his mother's warning came to mind, "I...don't know."

Minzy grinned seeing the torn expression on his face and cupped his face in her hands, "Look...if you're worried about how your mom will treat me it's okay. I'm a big girl I can handle myself. I just want you to know that I'll go in support of you and that's it."

Her words brought comfort to him as he gazed into her understanding eyes, "Are you sure?"

She nodded as she tip toed and pressed her lips to his, "I'm positive."

Taeyang grew quiet as he drove, he didn't realize he was too deep in his thoughts before he felt Minzy take his hand in hers, "It's going to be okay."

Glancing over to her, he saw her bright smile and couldn't help but grin, "Yeah..."

Pulling up to his mansion of a home, he parked his car in front of it unsure if he really wanted to go in. "Taeyang are you ready?"

No he wasn't, he was far from it as he hopped out of th car and opened her door. Taking her hand in his, he smiled as he walked up to the door and let themselves in. Gazing around the memories of this mansion soon flooded his mind. To be honest it had been years since he last set foot in this house. But he wasn't going to tell Minzy that as he could see the impressed look upon her face.

"Brother so good of you to make it," Hayi sang in surprise that he actually came.

"What's up face," he rolled his eyes. "Where's mom and dad?"

"In the dinning room dumb ," Hayi smiled brightly as pay back before turning to Minzy. "I'm so glad you got my brother to come."

"Of course family is important," Minzy grinned knowingly at Hayi as if they shared some kind of secret.

"If only my brother understood what that meant," Hayi gave him another jab as she smirked. "Follow me."

Taeyang hated how his sister was able to always get on his last nerve. But hearing Minzy chuckle at their bantering, he shot her a look remembering the look she had given his sister moments ago. He had to talk to her about it later, because right now he was going to face the people he dreaded as he arrived in the dinning room.

"Taeyang," his mother sang in shock as she rose to her feet and embraced him before looking at Minzy. "I see you brought a...guest."

"There's no need for introductions since you've already introduced yourself to me earlier this week," Minzy forced a smile at his mother.

"But I haven't," a voice boomed from behind.

"Father," Taeyang spoke through clenched teeth as the man sitting at the head of the table glared. "This is my girlfriend Minzy."

"Your girlfriend? You mustn't distract yourself with your school mates. Focus on your schooling or are you just wasting my time and money waiting on you?"

Leave it up to Taeyang's father to cut right to the chase before they even take their seats for dinner, "I am focused in school. It just so happens that she helps me! She's more than just a distraction father."

"Really because the last I remembered you were already spoken for," his father smirked.

Taeyang looked over to Minzy in worry to see her unfazed by his father's words, "I think you've raised your son well enough to make his own decisions now."

"Oh really? Because the last I checked he was living off of me," his father challenged her.

"With all due respect sir, he's your son so of course you should take care of him," Minzy said causing Hayi to muffle a laugh and his mother to gasp in shock.

"Father we just came for dinner like what was asked of us. If that's not what's going to happen then we'll be on our way," Taeyang stepped in.

"Boy you better think twice before you try to play the hero. Sit down and eat with us an important guest is going to be joining us," his father waved for him to take a seat.

As much as he didn't want to, Minzy nudged him to do so. Begrudgingly taking a seat with Minzy by his side, he held a straight face as he stared at his father, "Who is coming over?"

A knock came at the door and everyone glanced in the direction as Hayi quickly went to answer it. Taeyang felt Minzy take his hand and squeeze it. He seriously needed to thank her for sticking this out with him as the guest walked into the dinning room. "My friend come in," Taeyang's father raised to his feet and embraced the man that walked in.

"Thank you for having me over," the man gladly embraced the man before pulling away.

When the man turned to look at the other faces, he paused and stared hard at the girl who was gazing at Taeyang. Taeyang felt a bit uneasy as he turned to look at Minzy to nod at her that the guest was looking at her. She sighed and turned to see who it was and gasped. She placed a hand over her chest and stared at the man in awe, "You...you look just like my father."

"Minzy," the man breathed as he stared at her in disbelief. "Are you Gong Minzy?"

She nodded as she stared at him in confusion, "How do you know my name?"

The man nearly tumbled over as he found himself rushing towards her and scooping her up into his arms, "Minzy I can't believe it is really you!"

"Who are you," she asked in shock at this man who looked like her father.

"It's me your uncle. Your dad's twin brother," he cried as he held her in his arms. "I've been looking all over for you."

Realization hit her as she too started to cry, "Uncle..."

The reunion was nothing more than sweet as she hung onto him with her dear life as she sat next to her uncle, "I can't believe you've been looking for me all this time."

He smiled lovingly at the young woman he had dreamt of seeing all these years, "Yes to think I spent all that money to have you sitting right here before me."

"Now I see where she gets that fiery attitude from," Taeyang's father chimed in as he laughed along with Taeyang's mother.

"My child we have so much to talk about," her uncle grinned.

"How about we first let her in on the most important matter at hand," Taeyang's father interupted again.

"Like what," Minzy looked at Taeyang's father then to her uncle.

Her uncle shot Taeyang's father a glare before looking back to Minzy, "Sweetie your hand is spoken for."

Minzy coughed a laugh as she looked to her uncle in disbelief, "What do you mean? I'm just reuniting with you and you're telling me I'm spoken for. To who?"

Her uncle sighed as he gazed over to Taeyang, "To the young man you came with."
