Lay POV

"time for check up" a new nurse came into my room. i sighed

Why do i even live? if every day is like that, just wake up, coughing blood, go for a check up at exactly 10 am, watch TV, and just wait till the day i die..?

"how's the doctor?" i asked the nurse

"i don't really know, she's new here but she speaks korean"

just when i started to like my last doctor, they give me a new one... and she's new... well at least she can speak korean.

the nurse showed me a door and i started at it.

Park... Park Chanjae?!

i knocked, thinking it was impossible for her to be here since ... i don't know, why would she work here?

"yes?" a voice came from inside and i couldn't move anymore

That voice... it's her. it's really her!

a few seconds later, she opened the door and her smile i missed so much faded. i must look pretty scary i think?

Your POV

"Lay..." once we both calmed down, he entered and sat on a chair.

"you... a-are... si-sick..." i stupidly said. of course he was!

"i m-mean... y-you" i don't know why i keep stuttering like that!

"yes i am" he replied and i faked a smile

"let's proceed to your check up" i had to take my job seriously. my personal life shouldn't interfere with my work...

after i did his check up, it was lunch time so i went to the cafeteria and sat on an empty chair, alone, since i didn't know many people. i was eating when i received a call from Chanyeol

"oppa~!!" i smiled

"hey~ how are you? how's your work?"

"it's good, i have a few friends already but they work right now, so i'm alone at the cafeteria..."

"really? you really don't know anyone?" he asked and i was wondering if i should tell him about Lay but he spoke first

"ah, Chanjae, i have to go now, i'll call you back tonight, take care! love you!" he said and hung up, not waiting for your answer

"i love you too..." you whispered and sighed

Lay POV

I was wandering around the 2nd floor when i saw her on a table, alone. that was my chance. since she was there already it didn't matter anymore: i had to tell her what really happened the past 5 years. i went to her taable and her back was facing me. she was talking to the phone and i just heard "i love you too" before she hung up

Right. she has a boyfriend ... of course  she had a boyfriend, do you think she would wait for you after she knew you married?

i sighed

"hi" i said and she turned. she almost choke on her food and coughed

"hi" she replied "sit" she moved her bag away from the chair next to her and i sat.

"how were you doing ... in NY?" i asked since she didn't seem to talk much

"ah, it was great, i made some friends..." she said and ate her sandwitch

"... and you?" she asked after a while "do you ... have a family...?" she looked down and i sighed

"well... it's not that... actually..." i took a breathe "i lied" i said and looked away

No one's POV

"what?" you looked at him "you what?" you asked again and he told you why he lied. when he finished you were about to cry

You're so stupid, Lay. how can you keep it all by yourself? i thought we were like a family... i thought we were meant to share everything, and we'd go through this together... but what the heck!

"Pabo" you whispered and he looked at you

"what?" he asked

"PABO!" you cried and he smiled, knowing you forgave him. he pulled you into a hug and you hugged him back

He still smells good even though he's sick...

you sighed and released the hug.

"so..." he started and you looked at him

"what" you asked

"i am forgiven, right?" he asked and you chuckled

"yah, is it all that matters? you wanna know if you're forgiven?" you and he laughed but then he stared at nothing

"what are you thinking about?" you asked and he turned his gaze to you

"nothing" he faked a smile but you waited for him to tell what he was thinking about "i was just wondering.. if... you were dating anyone" he shyly said and looked away. you sighed before replying

"well... you see... i really thought you were married... and i was really mad at you for a long time... and i didn't even realized i was already ...." you couldn't finish your sentence and he nodded.

I knew it... she wouldn't wait for me... knowing that i had a wife...

"i'm sorry... " you looked apologetic and he smiled

"that's alright Chanjae" he said and patted your head like he did years ago, which made you regret not being by his side for so long, helping him fighting against the disease, make him smile, telling him the words which would made him feel better...

"i can wait for you. if you want me to wait, i will." he said

I should have stayed by your side... i'm so sorry Lay... i'm so sorry...

after the lunch, you had to go to work again so you both left the cafeteria and he went to his room.

Your POV

i was ready to go back to my apartment but when i reached my car, i received a call

"hello~?" i asked

"hey~" Tao's voice cooed

"how are you? i miss you already" he said and i felt guilty because, well... i didn't missed him that much in fact...

what am i thinking!? he's my boyfriend! of course i miss him... i should... but i don't... i'm such a horrible person!

"are you okay?" he asked and i nooded but of course he couldn't see me

"yeah" i replied "i just have a lot of work" i lied

"ohh~ already?" he asked and i once again nodded "yeah"

"then i'll call you back tomorrow, okay?"

"yeah ... wait!" you said while he was about to hang up

Am i breaking upwith him? i don't know why i still have this feeling for Lay even though i know he lied to me, to us... and left me... but now, he can't leave me anymore... and he doesn't have a wife...

"Chanjae?" Tao asked worriedly "what's happening? are you alright? ... look, i have a meeting, i have to go, i'll call you back right after it ends, okay?" he asked and he sure seemed in a hurry

Tao is far away ... working so hard, but our relation is just like mine and Lay before we broke up... we have the same problems. not much time to talk to each other, and now it's worse because we can't even go on dates. but ... he was the one who helped me while i was having a hard time for the past few months ... what do i do!?

"wait, Tao" i started "i have something to tell you"
