The four of us were finally going to be able to go to school. Finally. I was a little worried and nervous about it, since it would be far up in the mountains and away from the clan, but the thought of meeting new people was something that always excited me. But because those outside of the clan could not be trusted, I would be needing protection. We all would be. At least I would be going to school with four decent people. People who had common sense and class. If I was going to take over the school, I was going to need a very strong foundation; luckily my three best friends were just that. There was only one real issue I had with going to the school. I never thought the day would actually come where I would have to go away from the safety of our home. When we were younger, it was something we had always dreamed of and discussed. We talked about the abilities we would probably develop. It used to be such an innocent and positive thing. But now the elders say that it’s very common for people to die? And that is supposed to protect me? From what exactly? The other vampires would probably do less damage to me than that animal. I was probably the most excited to leave and explore. Everyone else seemed to have some mixed emotions about going, but not me. I was ready to make my mark in the world, and maybe finally some actual flesh like our ancestors did. I was ready to find my talent, and I was definitely ready to run and hide from that mass of fur that would not break eye contact with me.
