Glancing in your direction with an amused expression, Dowoon shrugged. “It was you this time who pleaded with me.”

“Yes, yes, I know,” you replied with a disgruntled tone, shooting Dowoon a scowl. “You could have said no.”

“Now why would I do that?” he teased, nudging you playfully. “If you hadn’t, I would have messaged you instead.”

“So why make a big deal about my suggestion?”

“Because I don’t normally get the opportunity to do so!”

“Pick it up, Yoon, or I’ll start without you,” you instructed flippantly, holding your controller in preparation for the gaming session.

Dowoon chuckled and followed through happily. You were right; it was uncanny how you always ended up spending your Saturday nights like this. Years had passed from your adolescence and yet it was a ritual neither of you had let die even in the busier seasons of your lives. Dowoon was certain when you were old and grey that you would still find a way to game together regularly. There had only been a handful of times where you hadn’t managed to meet up and even then, he could count just as many times where one of you had been ill and the other caught the bug because you didn’t want to m
