Stupidly Perfect, Perfectly StupidChanyeol is not one to sulk. He doesn’t hold anything against anybody. Even Tao who has always been the one to call him stupid everytime he falls during basketball practice. He didn’t even take it against Kris when he saw the intimate snapshots of him and Luhan. Well, maybe because he really can’t get mad at Kris, period. But this time, it’s different. He is sitting in one of the stools inside a vast immaculate kitchen with his elbows resting on the mini bar and his eyes are trained on the little guy who had been humming to himself as he moved about the kitchen.
The said guy had invited him over to taste one of his new cookie recipes. This has been a habit so Chanyeol agreed right away. Not to mention how he looks forward everytime this person bakes because those baked goodies never fail to put a smile on his face. But something is out of place and Chanyeol couldn’t quite put a finger on it. Maybe because this guy, who he've known for years, has decided to skip classes. And he has never had a mind to consider that ever. Maybe it was a different sparkling in the other guy’s eyes. He’s not a fan of mysteries so before his head could explode from all the thinking, Chanyeol spoke up.
“Do Kyungsoo, what happened to you?” Chanyeol asked curiously. Kyungsoo stopped his humming and turned to face Chanyeol with a sun-bright heart smile. Chanyeol was stunned beyond words.
“I don’t understand, Yeol. What do you mean?” if this was any other day, Kyungsoo should’ve been scowling at Chanyeol but this day, Kyungsoo is still all smiles. It’s gotten his bestfriend worried. It’s like the little devil has gone on indefinite hiatus. Not that Chanyeol is protesting but Kyungsoo and his very unusual over cheery self makes him edgy. He doesn’t know how to phrase his thoughts so he took a few more moments to gather them.
“You look delighted. You’re shining, Soo. No, you’re glowing,” Chanyeol accused with narrow eyes and Kyungsoo blushed. Oh my dear, the unyielding Do Kyungsoo is blushing. He made his way to his bestfriend and put his large hands on Kyungsoo’s tiny shoulders. He caught the other’s gaze and he was surprised at what he saw there. Some kind of intense emotion but it’s a very pleasant sensation. Then it struck him, those eyes. Kyungsoo’s eyes reflects Chanyeol’s whenever he sees Kris. There’s only one thing or person that could’ve made him this way.
“Do Kyungsoo, you know that I hate it when you keep secrets from me. Answer me truthfully, did you and Jongin make up?” Park Chanyeol has hit the bull’s eye. He saw how Kyungsoo’s eyes transform from being delighted to being euphoric and it’s infectious. He found himself grinning like a fool at his own little mother hen.
“Yes, Park Chanyeol. Kim Jongin and I are back together,” Kyungsoo captured Chanyeol’s shaky hands and held them tight. How free did he feel that he was finally able to tell his bestfriend about him and Jongin. He didn’t like to keep secrets to this gentle giant so he felt very much relieved that it’s now out in the open.
“Now, why don’t you tell me all about it then?” Chanyeol challenged.
“Who was that girl then?” Kyungsoo asked Jongin when the latter has pulled away to give the two of them the space to breathe.
“I really don’t know what you’re talking about, Soo,” the younger shook his head as he led them to the shades of the trees by the side of the classroom building, the need to be present in their classes deemed irrelevant at the moment.
“There, at the parking lot. When we are about to board the bus. When you went to the convenience store to buy snacks,” Kyungsoo didn’t want to relive that day but it looks like all his heartaches were self-inflicted.
“You mean the girl with ponytail?” Kyungsoo nodded and Jongin cackled. “I a
