Chapter 44; Be Mine.

 

Sitting on the beach in an abandoned place, you curled your body up, hugging your legs hiding your face in your thin frail arms.
You ran again tonight and you hated how weak you are.
You didn’t want to be like this.
Why, out of all the people should you have to live with someone who attempts to you every single night?
It’s tiring.

Your stepbrother had been doing this to you ever since your mother died.
Your stepfather had always been busy with work and out station jobs.
It will always be you and your stepbrother at home.
There had never been a day where you would sleep with peace.
Your guards would always be up and it’s just so terrifying.

You were almost calm and collected when you heard the bush behind you move and you stood up, there was definitely someone.
Automatically, you ran off to find a place to hide.
Unfortunately, the man followed you.
It was only when you turn back that you realized it was Sunggyu, your classmate.

“What do you want?”

You asked him.
You weren’t close to him, no one was.
Sunggyu was more of the hot guy who no one dares to talk to due to his scary exterior.
That included you.
You don’t even have a reason to speak to him.

He just shrug and you both stayed like that for a little until you sat down on the pavement.
He followed your lead and sat down by your side.
You subsequently looked at him but never once did he looked at you.
It was awkward, of course, but it wasn’t repulsive.

“Don’t cry.”

He mumbled.
It was soft really but you managed to hear him say it.
You weren’t even sure how you did.

You stared at him bewildered.
Who was he to even say that kind of thing to you?
He knew nothing of you as you knew nothing of him.
It was almost stupid for him to even be able to say that.

“It hurts me when you cry. I worry for you, okay.”

He said as he looked at you straight in the eye.
There was something about his eyes that seem to be telling you a tale.
And somehow, it was those eyes too that were making you feel so much more comforted.

You guessed he understood you and his hand reached out for your shoulders and he pulled you closer to him.

“Be mine. I love you.”
