Chapter Fourteen; You Wouldn't Answer My Calls.

“The number you have called is not available, please, try again later.”

And then it was continued by a beep that irritated Junhyung.
He threw his phone onto the sofa and yelled out in anger.
No, it wasn’t anger anymore.
It was worry and desperation.
He needed to hear your voice.
Please, he prayed.

He fisted his hand and punched the wooded table, leaving a lark on it.
A mark that would remind him of times when he called and called you over and over.
He had been calling you again and again but to all these calls, you didn’t pick them up.

He crawled his way to the sofa and typed the number he remembered by heart and waited to hear you voice.
And it was again directed to the voicemail.
He needed to hear your voice, how difficult could that even be.

He got up and grabbed his blazer hat was lying on the floor and got out of his home to run to yours.
It was chilly, not raining but cold enough for it to even snow if it could.
He ran own the street frantically while praying to be able to see you, make sure you’re alright.

Junhyung passed by houses after houses and stopped in front of one that has a small, humble garden.
He panted while walking to the stairs and bravely pressed the bell.
He don’t have anything to stop him now.

Your eyes were swollen from the lack of sleep, insomnia, the doctor said.
They gave you prescriptions and pills that could maybe calm her and entitle her to some well needed rest.
It was working and now when she finally was able to get the sleep, the bell rang.
What luck.

She opened the door to be engulfed in a hug.
Of whom, she wasn’t sure but she knew that chest and that fragrance.

“Junhyung?”

She curiously asked and before anything else happened, Junhyung kissed her.
What was going on?

“Why didn’t you answer your phone?”

Junhyung asked you and you looked at him shocked.
What was he talking about?
You broke up with him almost two years ago, what in the world is he yapping’ about?
Your phone?
You checked you pockets and checked for missed calls.
There were none.
What is he talking about, really?

“Junhyung, what’s wrong with you?”

He just stood there smiling that he found you now.
He kept hugging you, not letting you out of his embrace.
Shocked, you didn’t know how to react.
Until Yoseob, Junhyung’s best friend came over to your home, his face worried.

“Junhyung, we need to get back, you can see her tomorrow.”

Yoseob persuaded but Junhyung was not buying any of that.

“Jun, go. I’ll see you tomorrow. “

You tried and at those simple words, he nods.
He gave you one last kiss and got into Yoseob’s car which was parked right in front of your house.

“Sorry to have troubled you. I was so glad I found him. Phew!”

Yoseob sighed in relief.
It was obvious that he was happy.
He cared so much for his friend.
You raised your eyebrow in curiosity.
Now what, Junhyung and Yoseob are a thing now?
You wondered and shuddered.
But why would Junhyung come to your home suddenly?

“He’s been like that. His mental is a little off. He’s been trying to call you so much. He even attempted to come here multiple times, thank God I have always been so manipulative.”

Yoseob tried to joke but you were stunned.
Mentally… off?

“He became like this after you left him. He really loved you, you know.”

Yoseob softly said and hugged you in encouragement.

“Please, see him once in a while and if he calls please, pick up the phone.”

You could only nod.
Why didn’t you know?
How could Junhyung suffer in silence like this?
You felt helpless.

Just before Yoseob was leaving, you told him to wait and rushed back in your home to take a pen.
You pulled his hand and wrote a line of numbers.

“Tell him to call me at this. The old number is long gone.”
