Chapter nineteen
꽃 FlowerIt was snowing.
It was snowing when just two days ago, it was still moderately warm here in the Troll’s village.
I blew warm air onto my frozen hand as I shivered from the cold, and hugging Chanyeol’s large jacket closer to my body, I waited patiently for any sign of Frost coming.
That is, if snowing wasn’t enough of a sign already.
Whoosh
I wasn’t surprised as a note landed on the ground before me, and picking up the paper, I couldn’t help but feel my hands tremble with excitement and fear.
I half squinted my eyes as I opened the note.

I blink in confusion at the number written on the paper when something suddenly hit me, causing me to fall down onto the ground. Luckily the ground was padded with a thin layer of snow, otherwise I would’ve hurt myself.
Brushing snow off my clothes, I stood up from the ground and frowned as I glanced around myself cautiously, trying to see what had just hit me.
But the village was the same as before I fell, everything still so silent, cold and empty.
Whoosh
I frowned as another note appeared before me, and I bent down to pick up the note whilst looking around myself, fully alert.
Opening the note, my frown deepened.

*2?* I thought to myself, confused, *Is this some sort of countdown or…?*
*Anyhow,* I shook my head as I began walking towards Chanyeol’s house where everyone was gathered, *I should go and warn them about these notes-*
Whoosh
I glanced warily behind me as yet another note landed on the ground.
Already able to guess what was going to be written on the note, I picked it up and opened it.

*Aish,* I quickened my steps, then resolved into sprinting over to Chanyeol’s house, *I seriously need to go tell them to get ready now before the last note arrives!*
Luckily, I managed to get to Chanyeol’s house before any more notes decided to introduce itself, and throwing open the door, I startled the four boys who was currently in the middle of a heated discussion.
“Guys,” I panted as I held up the notes, “Get ready now.”
The four of them immediately sprung up from their positions and ran out of the house when a note landed before our feet as soon as we exited the door.
There was silence as everyone stared at the note, yet I could feel adrenaline and excitement swimming in the air above us.
“Who wants to pick that up?” Sehun whispered, his voice quivering slightly.
There was another round of silence as everyone all turned to look at me, and I blinked slightly before picking up the note slowly.
Opening the note, I could almost hear everyone’s pounding heartbeat.
Peekaboo
CRAAASSSHHHH
Before anyone could collect their thoughts and ponder over the last message, a loud, ear splitting crash resonated throughout the whole village.
“Come on!” Chanyeol shouted excitedly, “Let’s go catch this Frost! Fighting!”
“FIGHTING!” Everyone cheered back before running away to their positions.
I, too, sprinted with all my might towards the front of the village, where I knew the heavy Iron Gate that we had set up would had been broken into tiny little pieces by now.
Arriving at the front of the village, where indeed the gate made out of iron had been destroyed easily, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed as I didn’t get to catch a glimpse of Frost.
But that’s okay.
Me catching a glimpse of Frost wasn’t part of our plan anyway.
Bending down to examine the broken pieces of iron, I couldn’t help but marvel at Frost’s strength. The way there were iron bits everywhere even as far as a good few meters away told me that Frost probably barged through the gate as if it was a wall made out of paper.
