Hot.

So hot.

And so heavy.

My eyebrows furrowed together in a discomforted frown as sweat dripped down my forehead and I coughed a little as I pried my heavy eyelids open.

Squinting my eyes as I tried adjusting to the sudden brightness, I focused on the object in front of me to get rid of the blurriness.

*Is that a nose?* I began to make out the shape of the object as my vision became clearer, and my eyes slowly trailed down to the lips underneath the nose and the small pool of drool gathering below the lips.

I blinked a few times as I tried to understand what’s happening, when the lips opened slightly and heaved out a silent sigh, sending hot breath all over my face and my eyes widened as I finally understood the situation I was in.

Which happened to be me lying on a bed with Sehun curled up next to me, our hands firmly locked together and his legs crossed over mine.

Feeling my whole face heat up in embarrassment, I quickly sat up, pushing Sehun’s leg off me only to experience excruciating pain as my limbs screamed with soreness and I felt like my head was about to burst when the door to the room opened and a male strode in.

“Oh, you’re awake.”

The male didn’t sound surprised as he gave me a soft, dimpled smile, and I felt my pain fade away in an instant as he seemed to glow with warm white light.

I couldn’t tear my eyes off him as the smile didn’t leave his face, and he approached me gently, holding a few herbs and plants in his hand.

Bending down, he began to press the herbs and plants onto my bruised feet and leg, and I let him be as I stared at his soft features that made him look like an angel.

But when his hands reached up to wind up my hanbok in order to expose my thigh and waist, I came to my senses and quickly pressed down the fabric, preventing him from doing so.

The male stopped in his tracks, and he glanced up at me, whose face was most likely flushed bright red.

“Your upper body needs to be treated too,” The male spoke calmly, no sign of embarrassment shown in his tranquil voice. “Otherwise you’ll be stuck with the pain for at least a year.”

I bit my lips as I glanced away, refusing to speak a word.

I feel guilty enough holding Sehun’s hands already. And to make matters worse, I wake up to find myself cuddled next to Sehun like a married couple and now I have to let this stranger see my body?

If Appa and Umma saw me now, they would be so ashamed of me that I would be disowned in an instant.

The male suddenly let out a chuckle and I jumped slightly as I stared at him with wide eyes.

“Then what do I have to do in order to see your ‘ body’, Kim Soyoung?” The male rested his chin on his palm as his lips tilted upwards into an amused smile.

…can he read my mind?

I frowned slightly and I my dry lips nervously.

“It’s alright, I can bear with the pain for one year.” I answered softly, “Thank you for taking care of me.”

“Oh really? I thought you were meant to be looking for Exo M.”

I gave the male a strained smile, not even surprised that he knew my name and my mission. After all, this is the supernatural realms, what would I expect?

“I have Sehun with me.” I glanced over at Sehun, still sleeping soundly, and my heart throbbed a little with worry.

He must had been injured much worse than me, after cushioning my fall for me and all that.

“Your boyfriend?”

“Excuse me?”

“I said, is that your boyfriend?”

“Boyfriend? What nonsense.” I let out an unamused laugh, “How is that possible? I’m a married woman-“

There was silence as my heart sank at the sentence I was about to finish, and the male let out a sigh as I said nothing more.

“It must’ve been hard on you,” The male reached out one hand and patted my head. “Rest for a while more. I’ll work with your ‘ body’ after you get enough sleep.”

I blinked at the male’s soothing words, and I pressed my lips together slightly as I felt unsafe falling asleep again after knowing that the male has intentions of exposing my bare skin despite only doing so to treat my wounds. 

But my body doesn’t seem to be listening to my mind, and soon I found my eyelids dropping as the male gently pushed my shoulders so that I’m lying flat on the bed again.

“Who are you?” My speech was slurred as drowsiness took over me.
