Babysitter?

Brain

Jessica sighed as she pulled out her phone, looking at her recent calls. Should she teach the little girl who's in 2nd Grade? She did need the money..

Without anymore thinking, Jessica called the person back. "Hello? Yes, can you please give me the address again? I'll teach her."

With her backpack, Jessica left her bedroom, seeing her mother in the kitchen with Krystal, her younger sister. Jessica smiled, "Mom, I might be out the whole day tutoring."

Mrs. Jung turned and smiled, "Oh, really? Who is it this time?"

"A 2nd grader, I have to teach her the whole year's lesson plan."

Mrs. Jung widened her eyes, "Really? Well, good luck, honey."

Jessica smiled and kissed her mothers cheek before turning to her nine year old sister and kissing her forehead, "Have a good day, guys. Love you!" Jessica called out before walking out the front door.

Jessica looked down at her phone, where she kept the address. She sighed and began to walk, hearing the early birds chirping in harmony on the beautiful, sunny morning. Jessica continued to walk, seeing the street names placed on the signs lining the street. Jessica kept her eyes open for the house of the name 'Kwon'.

"Lee.. Choi... Ah! Kwon!" Jessica mumbled to herself, finding the correct house.

She walked up to the front door and before she even got to knock on the door, it was opened by a middle-aged man. "Ah, you must be the tutor, Jessica, is it?" he asked.

Jessica smiled softly and nodded, bowing her head slightly at the older man, "Yes. I'm here to tutor your daughter."

Mr. Kwon scratched the back of his head, "About that..."

Jessica raised an eyebrow.

"She's seventeen."

Jessica widened her eyes, "Seventeen? I thought she was in 2nd Grade?"

Mr. Kwon nodded, "She is.. she has the brain of a 6 year old. Long story short, she was in a car accident. Her brain shut down, but her body didn't. Now, please come in and begin tutoring, the lesson plans are on the table. Please be patient with Yuri." He said, gesturing for Jessica to come into the living room, where books were neatly placed on the table.

"Mommy, do I really have to do school work now? I want to go outside!" Jessica heard a husky voice whine.

"Now, Yuri, be nice. You can go out later, I want you to meet your new teacher."

'Teacher?' Jessica thought to herself as she turned her head to the sound of the voices.

Yuri pointed to Jessica, "Her? She's my teacher?"

Mrs. Kwon smacked Yuri's hand down softly, "Pointing is rude."

Yuri lowered her head softly, "Sorry."

Jessica eyed Yuri. She indeed did look seventeen. But it was clear her brain was not of a seventeen year old's.

Jessica smiled softly and bowed, "I'm Jessica."

Mrs. Kwon smiled at the pretty blonde girl in her living room, "My, you are quite the pretty girl." she complimented.

Jessica's cheeks warmed up slightly, "Ah.. thank you.." she said shyly.

"Now, Yuri, be nice to Jessica, okay? She is going to teach you your schoolwork." Mrs. Kwon turned to Yuri.

Yuri nodded, "I will, mommy, I promise. But, why don't you and daddy teach me?"

Mrs. Kwon chuckled, "Because me and daddy don't know much about school either, I bet Jessica is smarter than both of us combined."

Jessica smiled softly and sat down at the table, scanning over the lesson plans.

Mrs. Kwon scratched her head, "Uhm, Jessica." she called.

Jessica looked up, "Yes?"

"If you don't mind, please watch over Yuri for the day. My husband and I need to find jobs. We won't be home until dinner. I know we didn't pay you to babysit, but we'll pay extra."

Jessica bit her lip.

Seeing her hesitation, Mrs. Kwon spoke again. "We wouldn't normally trust Yuri with a stranger in the house... but you seem harmless. Please?"

The blonde girl then nodded. "Of course.." she said, needing the extra money for her own family.

Mrs. Kwon smiled widely, "Thank you so much, Jessica! I'll tell my husband to pay you triple the money. Now, Yuri, be a good girl, love you."

Jessica widened her eyes, 'Triple?!' she thought to herself, thinking it was too much.

Mrs. Kwon and Mr. Kwon left the house, leaving Yuri and Jessica at the table.

"Okay, let's start with math.." Jessica began, handing Yuri a worksheet of math, starting to teach her.

Mid lesson, Yuri began to pout. Jessica widened her eyes at the sight, "What?" she asked.

"I'm hungry." Yuri complained. "And my brain hurts." she added.

Jessica huffed, "Okay we can take a break, what is there to eat here?"

Yuri smiled and shrugged, "I don't know." Yuri answered.

Jessica sighed, "It's your house, how could you not know?"

Yuri shrugged again, "I still don't know."

Jessica stood up and walked to the kitchen, followed by Yuri. Jessica scanned the cabinets and the fridge. Shrugging, she pulled out a bowl, cereal, and milk.

"Just eat cereal. What kind do you want?" Jessica asked.

"Lucky Charms!" Yuri exclaimed.

Jessica flinched back at her loud voice, "Alright, alright. Lucky Charms it is." she said, pouring the milk and cereal into the bowl, placing it onto the dining table.

"Sit and eat." Jessica said, finding a spoon in the dishwasher for Yuri to use.

Yuri obediently sat and began to eat her Lucky Charms.

"Done!" Yuri said, about to stand up.

Jessica stopped her, placing a hand on her shoulder, "Woah, you are not done eating." she said.

Yuri frowned, "Why not?" she whined.

Jessica gestured to the bowl, which consisted of cereal. "All you ate were the marshmallows!" Jessica pointed out.

Yuri pouted, "But.. isn't that why it's called Lucky Charms? Isn't the point just to eat the marshmallows?"

Jessica sighed and held the spoon, collecting the little pieces of cereal. "Here, eat." Jessica ordered, holding the spoon up to Yuri's mouth.

Yuri opened and ate the cereal. Jessica suddenly noticed how she was acting towards Yuri, the girl she just met. She placed the spoon in Yuri's hand, "Eat on your own." Jessica said.

Jessica bit her lip, watching Yuri eat. For some reason, taking care of Yuri seemed natural to Jessica.

It was probably just because Jessica was used to taking care of Krystal at home.

Jessica noticed the milk all over Yuri's mouth. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of the childish seventeen year old.

Jessica grabbed a napkin and handed it to Yuri, "Wipe your mouth."

Yuri wiped all of the milk off, but she missed a spot. "You missed some." Jessica said, pointing to the spot.

"Here?" Yuri asked, completely missing it.

Jessica took the napkin and dabbed the milk away, "There. Now come on, let's continue the school work."

Yuri pouted, "But my head hurts."

Jessica sighed and brought the bowl to the dish, placing it down carefully, "Well, I came here to teach you, now come on, let's learn."

"But learning is boring." Yuri whined.

"I'll bring you outside if you finish the lesson we are on."

Yuri's facial expression brightened, "Really?!"

Jessica nodded, "Yeah, now let's continue."

After successfully finishing the lesson plan for the day, Yuri jumped up from her seat and smiled, "Outside!" she said.

Jessica stood slowly, "Alright, alright."

Yuri grabbed Jessica's hand, dragging her to the front door, "Hurry up! Too slow!"

Jessica gasped at the skin contact, then she noticed that Yuri was still in her tank top and shorts, which were rather revealing.

"Yuri, you need to change first. You can't go out like that." Jessica pointed out.

Yuri looked down at herself, "Why not?"

"Because you can't, now go change into something different."

Yuri sighed and pouted, "Fine."  She mumbled, walking off to her room to change.

Jessica took her phone out and dialed Mr. Kwon's number. "Hello? Mr. Kwon?" Jessica called out when the ringing stopped.

"Yes, is this Jessica?"

"Uh, yes, I was wondering if Yuri is allowed to go outside. I'll take her out around town if you will allow me to."

Mr. Kwon smiled on the other hand of the phone, "Of course! There's an extra house key if you girls come home before us. Now, I have to go, I'm next in line for the interview, please take care of Yuri and don't let her run off. Thanks so much Jessica!"

Mr. Kwon hung up before Jessica could say anything.

"You're welcome.." Jessica said to no one as she walked into the kitchen, finding the extra house key and slipping it into her pocket. "Yuri, are you done?" Jessica called out.

She heard a whine, "I don't know how to use this stupid bra!" Yuri complained.

Jessica widened her eyes, "What do I do?" She mumbled nervously.

"Oh wait! I got it!" Yuri suddenly replied, Jessica sighed in relief. Yuri walked out in casual clothing - jeans and a white shirt that clung to her body, revealing her curves.

Yuri pointed to the door, "Outside!" She said, running to the door.

Jessica widened her eyes and ran towards Yuri, grabbing the girl's hand and holding it tightly, "Don't run away, I have to be with you at all times." Jessica ordered. Yuri obediently nodded and held onto Jessica's hand, feeling an unfamiliar feeling spreading through her arm. Yuri shrugged the feeling off, getting excited about going out. Jessica helped Yuri put on her sneakers as she put on her own.

Opening the door, the two girls stepped out as Jessica locked the door behind her, still holding onto Yuri's hand. Yuri smiled at the how beautiful it was outside. The sky was blue, the very few clouds in the sky were bright white, and the sun was shining. Jessica couldn't help but stare at Yuri's smiling face, pretty soon, a smile fit on her face as well, seeing Yuri like that.

"Come on, teacher, let's go!" Yuri said, dragging Jessica.

Jessica skidded her feet, stopping on her heel, "Woah, woah, Yuri, calm down."

Yuri pouted, "But I want to explore, teacher."

Jessica smiled, "First of all, don't call me teacher. Call me Jessica. And second, you can't just run around, it's dangerous."

Yuri nodded, "Okay, Sica."

Jessica raised an eyebrow, "Sica?"

Yuri nodded, "Nickname." Jessica just shook her head and began to walk with Yuri on the side walk, passing by buildings.

Whenever something caught Yuri's attention, she would point with her free hand and start talking about how 'cool' the thing was.

Yuri pointed to the carnival that was in town, "Woah..." she said in awe.

Jessica looked at what Yuri was so shocked about, and saw that Yuri was looking at the ride that looked like a pirate ship, swinging up and down at high heights.

"That looks so fun..." Yuri said to herself, stopping her walk just to turn and look at the ride, hearing the screams of all the riders. Jessica looked through her bag for something.

"Sica, what are you looking for?" Yuri asked.

Jessica pulled out some money.

"Let's go ride it."

Chapter 54: Poor girls, why do they have crappy for parents?! Not judging though but how could you just leave your kids just like that? Isn’t parents supposed to be selfless when it comes to their kids? Because if they can’t, then they shouldn’t be parents in the first place. Well that’s just my opinion 🥺
