Chapter 13: 1/3
This is War: A Story of Friendship, Betrayal and LoveWhen Julia opened her eyes, she knew something was wrong.
She had a gut feeling that something was bound to go wrong today. Not only the fact that the boy she was taking care of was not by her side but that was a minor detail.
She felt a sharp pain on her abdomen and she prayed it wasn't the time of the month. With a place that is majority boys and young men, she feels very awkward when she has the time of the month.
Julia decided to get up and find L and wondered Hoya and the others came back from wherever they came from.
She was too busy with her thoughts that she walked right straight into Hoya. "HOYA!" she screamed when she met her brother's gaze.
"Yah Jules!" Hoya teased and covered both his ears. She gave a grin, the pain she feels is temporarily forgotten. Julia pushed his fringe away from his forehead and gasped when she saw dried blood on his forehead as well as a deep scratch on his arms.
She frowned at him. "You didn't get yourself cleaned up?" she chastised him. He shrugged and rub the back of his neck. "It wasn't painful so... I forgot."
It was not a complete lie. He was not actually feeling anymore pain and yet, he was thinking more of the girl who was his saviour earlier today. "What are you doing in his room?" he messily gestured once they walked out of L's room. Hoya began cracking his knuckles to show that he was serious in giving L a piece of his mind.
Julia contemplated her option in telling Hoya that L was not himself when they left but she didn't want him to make a big scene about it. She doesn't know what is going on with him but she is determined in finding out the truth about him. Although she doesn't trust people easily, she knows for sure he didn't mean to hurt her.
Before she could respond, the familiar sharp pain in her abdomen came back. She winced and whined in pain while her hand clutched tightly to her stomach. Hoya rushed to his sister's side. "Jules? Jules, talk to me." his tone was laced with panic.
She took in deep breaths and beads of sweat started forming on her forehead. If this was how labour feels like, she would not want to have kids in the future.
And just like that, the pain disappears and she let out a sigh of relief, resting her head on his shoulder. "I am fine. I think it's the time of the month." she whispered and Hoya just nodded with understanding. He helped her to her feet and held her by the waist. She gave a weak smile and hug his torso.
"I won't know what I would do without you, Hoya."
Hoya wanted to give a sarcastic remark but decided against it. He had experienced her on her period and it did not end well for him."Me too, Jules. You are my everything."
He kissed her head as they hobbled along to the infirmary to get some painkillers for her and get his forehead cleaned up.
Julia was still leaning on Hoya for support when Sungjong's voice entered her mind, his voice frantic. <
